I lived here for approximately 2 years from 2013 – 2015 until the flooding in May 2015 destroyed the apartments on the first floor. I had a few problems prior to this, including finding wet carpet in my closet a few months after moving in due to a leaking pipe in the neighboring apartment’s bathroom. They removed the carpet and fixed the pipe and told me that the carpet would be replaced by a vendor shortly. Despite submitting 3 work requests to get the carpet replaced, it was never replaced, and the exposed floor showed mold. At one point my dishwasher broke and it took them months to fix it, but the dishwasher was so old that it wouldn’t clean my dishes. And when they came back to finish the work on the dishwasher, one of the maintenance workers entered my apartment at 6 pm while I was undressed from showering. Since I was going to be moving in the fall, I just starting letting the issues I had go because it was clear they would not be fixed. They were also terrible with handling packages (especially through USPS). More than once, I went in to ask for a package showing as delivered and they would tell me it wasn’t there and tell me to go back and check myself if I didn’t believe them and I found the package every time. There was one instance they gave me a package in December that showed as being mailed in April, after I reported the missing package to USPS and the company to have it replaced. My biggest problem was when the apartments flooded, there was 3.5 feet of water in my apartment and my direct neighbors apartment since we were right in front of the bayou that flooded. As at least 3 sewage treatment plants empty into the bayou and after the water receded, I lost 90 percent of my belongings (the laundry facilities were flooded and with no way to get anywhere to wash my clothes even if they didn’t have poop water on them, which they did) and the flooding itself is not the apartment staff’s or Rockwell Management’s fault, the way the aftermath of the disaster was handled was abysmal; and they never cut the power until after the storm stopped and the water stopped rising (they bad the ability to cut the power off within the complex as they’d done it for maintenance before) which essentially turned my apartment into a conduit. It was about 3 hours after the water receded that they cut the power off (and there were no individual breaker panels in the apartments that I could find during my stay in the apartment.) I had health problems that were going to send me back across the country because I needed family support, so two days later when everyone’s leases were terminated and the notice was issued that the leases were being terminated and the action we needed to take, none of the apartment leasing staff would face the tenants and just dropped the piece of paper on the floor of the open door while we were salvaging what we could and they had maintenance staff weed wacking and cutting the grass which was borderline insulting when everyone was digging through the remnants of their lives. That may or may not be something to complain about, but my neighbors had lived their for 10 years and were both disabled and could only live in a 1^st floor apartment and were told by management that all they could do was offer them a 2^nd floor apartment which was only accessible by stairs. There are other Rockwell owned properties reasonably close to Meyer Grove Apartments but management was unwilling to work out any reasonable solution so that they retained my neighbors’ business. If I had been staying in the area, I would have been of the same opinion as my neighbors, that I would never do business with Rockwell Management or Meyergrove Apartments ever again.

This place is so awful. I lived here for a year and I’m the cleanest person. Well I get bugs crawling at night sometime I can see them as I’m doing dishes. Turn to find out the people who lived on second floor was not clean. I was told by the person who live on 3^rd floors that he also getting bugs. Regardless 2^nd floor is not clean… this apartment need to have pest control come out every 2 weeks or so spraying down hallway and outside area. I suggest don’t stay here. I’m currently in Round Rock, TX in a nice apartment and no bugs.
This place is old and not well taken care of.
