Track shape is similar to a track at a high school with the exception of the small dip at the end. Other details is that total track length is 1.2 miles, made of asphalt, and there is a small dip at the very end. Ideal place if you want to do a quick run or walk the dog. Pros: +Covered parking lot(the Westpark Tollway acts a cover if you want to do stretching while avoiding the sun. +There are benches and trash cans along the track but not many picnic tables. The only picnic tables are located in the playground(which is also nice) and near the front entrance. +They provide doggy bags in case you forget yours. +Great place if you want to run maybe a mile or two. Cons: –Parking lot is tiny and during peak times, it is difficult to get a parking spot. I see people(including me) park along the grass surrounding the driveway and so you can park there if the parking lot is full. –No barbecue grills. –No restrooms. –Not a lot of trees covering the path so there is little shade provided during hot days.(But a pro during winter time as it allows the sun to warm you as you run) –No fitness equipment for pull-ups, chin-ups, sit-ups and etc. –Not a lot of scenery to look at all and so the track is boring to run. –Biggest con is that across the street is a water treatment plant and it will smell very badly depending on the day and time. Start breathing through the mouth.

The first review written is a pretty comprehensive overview of the park. It’s easy walking, pretty flat except that dip for the«slough.» As noted, the trees are not big enough for shade, but on an overcast day, it’s great. I’ve never seen many people at this park, which makes it nice. There is a picnic table over by the playground so you can sit while your children play, eat later. That’s the only picnic table I saw in this park. It’s very clean, nicely maintained. I would like to see some exercise equipment, such as sit-up«Ts,» pull-up bars. That would be a great addition.

Be careful on the track … it’s not completely flat.

This park is located at the corner of Westpark Tollway and West Houston Center(formally known as Old Westheimer Rd). The parking lot is actually located under the Westpark Tollway which gives complete cover(i.e. shade from sun, rain, etc…). It’s a 1.13 mile asphalt trail around a detention pond(sometimes called a holding pond). The trail is flat except in one location where it dips down and comes back up via a concrete ramp. There are lots of trees around this park but they all have been planted recently(most of them are under 10′) so there isn’t any shade from the sun while going around the trail. It will take at least another 10 years or so for the trees to get that big. There is a row of trees on the west side of the park that are pretty tall but they are set about 15′ to 20′ back from the trail. I’ve been out here a few times this summer and its gets brutally hot without any shade during my runs. I do see more people come to this park in the evening. This park includes a playground with slides, swings and a climbing wall for kids to play it’s located within a fenced area that also has some benches. It’s not a bad park but during summer it can and will get extremely hot. I’ve taken my dog out here and he enjoys running the trail. The entire park isn’t fenced so be careful when running on the east side of the trail because there is not barrier between you and any rogue cars that jump the curb(distance between the trail and road is about 15′ to 20′) other than your cat like reflexes to dodge cars. I haven’t seen it happen yet!
