Modern Electronics Repair

I am furious. I bought a Groupon to have my sons Ipad fixed. I dropped it off — also a little bit uneasy because he was leaving but took it anyway, he did take my number and said it would be ready the following week. I was able to contact him once — he said they had sent him the wrong screen and that it would be ready in two days. I have been unable to get in touch with him since. I’ve been by the store several times even though it is difficult for me to leave work to go by and check and now when I call the number, it says out of service. So he still has my sons iPad and I have no way of getting it back that I can tell. This is infuriating to say the least.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! OMG! I dont know how this place still open, this guy is a joke! He kept my phone for like 2 weeks, i called many times but he didnt answer, i went to knock on the door many times and he wasnt there i got scared because i thought he had stolen my galaxy s5, when i finally found him, all he said was“here, i cant fix your phone” and walked inside this room (where he fix the phones).This guy is a joke! If you dont believe just try you will regret like i did. Oh. And he said he was going to call me to tell me whats the problem with my phone was. HE NEVER CALLED ME in two weeks!

Skeptical as i was, i gave it a shot and it turn out fine. Fixed my iPhone 5s no problem, works perfectly and very good quality.

Horrible Experience. Bought a Groupon. Called and made an appointment. Got there for the appointment. And the shop was not open. Waited for 45 minutes and called several times nothing. Called Groupon to get a refund. They got I touch with the owner said it was a mistake yada yada yada, I was told to try again. I called and made an appointment. Got there to drop off the phone and was told that it would be ready the next day. Should have only taken at most an hour, especially making an appointment. I called the next morning they said they ran out of screens and were to receive a shipment that day (that’s what he told me the day I dropped it off) he, the owner said it would be ready between 1 and 2 pm Wed Nov 6, and he would call me. Of course he never called. I drove thee at 1pm Thurs Nov 7, and was told this doozy of a lie
” we are having an issue with the new screen, the touch screen isn’t working, we think that it’s defective and we are waiting on another shipment to replace the already replaced screen. After expressing how pissed I was about this I was assured that my phone would be fixed that day. I left the store and got the the first street light and got a call from the owner telling me that they had not even issued a tracking number yet for the shipment of new screens so I could come and pick up my phone, so I did. And guess what… the same broken screen that I dropped if off with 2 days before was still there and not the defective new screen that I was told was on there know. What a liar… what a waste of my time. This owner will not be in business for much longer

These people are THIEVES! Never go here unless you want your electronic parts stolen or damaged even more so that they can charge you more money!!! I should’ve listened to all the bad reviews. BIG MISTAKE!

Hands down worst experience with business ever. Made appointment and first day was a no show after driving all the way there (on time) Owner would not answer phone. Was told a frame had to be replaced along with the screen after the repair was already in process which was fine however… Frame is dinged up so I know it wasn’t replaced and got charged. Rude rude rude customer service. A piece of paper was snatched out of my hand at one point. Customer beware it seems shady!

Horrible experience here. I went in to inquire about what was going on with my phone. I asked the owner if he thought there was possible water damage. He responded that he would have to open the phone up to see. He took my phone in the back, replaced my screen without my consent, then charged me $ 97.00. We sat and argued for about 10 minuted before I decided to go ahead and pay the bill. Very unprofessional owner. Must be hard times for the business and I’d imagine they will be out of business soon with desperate behavior like this.

Thanks to Houston Pride, I accidentally dropped my iPhone 5S at JUST the right angle on the bottom left hand corner and the screen shattered. It was difficult to read text, view pictures and there was even a chunk of glass missing that led me to believe I was going to have numerous cuts on my thumb as I scrolled through my favorite websites.
I called around to a lot of places in Houston and checked out Groupon for any deals I might score but since I have the newest iPhone (iPhone 5S), the parts are more expensive and thus, the Groupons did not apply. I went with Modern Electronics because they were affordable and TJ was really nice over the phone. I called on Monday morning and he informed me that he did not yet have any for the black iPhone 5S but that he’d be getting a shipment in that day and he’d call me to let me know when they had arrived and he did just that, which I thought was very polite and professional.
I had to wait until payday to venture over to Modern Electronics to have the phone screen fixed. What I liked about what TJ told me over the phone is that he said he’d replace the glass screen, the digitzer AND the LCD screen, whereas other places in Houston were going to charge more if the LCD screen needed to be replaced (which it didn’t, but TJ did it anyways, which I appreciated). I came in, dropped off the phone and within probably 20 – 30 minutes, it was fixed. What I really liked is that TJ checked the screen before closing the phone, which again showed his professionalism and let me know that I was receiving quality work.
The screen works perfectly and I am very happy with Modern Electronics. I told TJ, «I hope I don’t have to come back (because that would mean the screen shattered again!) but if I do, I know where to go».

First off some of these reviews look fishy! Even the positive ones… but anywho. Soooo, my eleven year old was evidently playing lone ranger in the house while facetiming a friend when my iPhone took a nose dive into my ceramic tile. I did not want to pay a $ 100 deductible so I took a look at the Groupon website to see what I could get. Voila… Modern Electronics $ 45 iPhone repair. I was a little leery about the place but hey they couldn’t do much more damage. I gave the guy a call and he said he would honor the Groupon pricing even if I had not purchased yet. Long story short dropped my phone off Tuesday. no time to wait had to get back to work. My phone was ready for pick up the very next day in pristine condition. Great customer service… Great service! Check em out!

This place is amazing!!! Quick service with reasonable pricing. I shattered my iPhone 5 screen and within 20 mins I had a brand new screen! I will not lie I hesitated to come because of the reviews but these review seem to be old because I had the best service with no troubles! Highly recommend this place!
