Nails by Mary

I was looking for a place to have the shape of my solar nails changed. I called Mary and she was able to squeeze me in within 10 minutes. Clean salon and she did a great job. She is really pleasant. I should note though that she does not do artificial nails/​fills and only accepts cash or check. Luckily I had some cash on me that day as I normally do not.

I read the reviews on Unilocal and decided that I would give this place a try. I walked up to the door and the women inside looked at me like I was crazy, I waved, they came to the door which was locked and acted so surprised that a woman is there to get a pedicure. So I ask if there is any openings and she says no. There were only 2 women getting their nails done. I won’t be back. Very snooty and unfriendly.

Today was my first visit, and I had a great experience. Everything is clean, the women are professional and thorough, and my reasonably priced manicure and pedicure turned out nicely. I will definitely return.

I was visiting from out of state. Called a few salons for a last minute mani but Mary was the only one able to take me.
The nail salon is actually part of a house so that was a bit confusing for me at first.
The mani was very different from any other manicures I’ve had. She soaked my fingertips in warm lotion instead of warm water. And prior to applying polish she swiped a wedge of lime on my nails to remove any residual grease!
I also feel like the tech knew what she was doing re: color to get a good natural nail by mixing two different Essie’s.
The mani lasted about 4 days before I removed it but I’m pickier than most and I am harsh on my hands.
It was a fun mani and the people were super nice. I’d go again if I lived in Houston!

This an excellent nail salon. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and the atmosphere is pleasant. The salon is in an updated cottage that is very clean and comfortable. I’m a newbie, but many of the clients knew each other and were obviously regular customers. I highly recommend this salon as a place to get a quality manicure for a very reasonable price.

First time to Mary’s. Lovely shop and atmosphere. They are friendly, place is spotless. Will be back.

Mary and her professional staff are family. I have been a steady customer for more than 20 years. Efficient service and an obsessive attention to detail, sterile environment and warm customer service keeps me coming back. Now, I bring my daughter since she is in training to be a good Southern gal (spoken by a Jersey girl). Mary’s prices are fair, her service is consistently fabulous, and as an added bonus, you might learn a few words in Vietnamese as the team talks to one another in their mother tongue. I love Nails by Mary.

Mary and her staff are a delight. The salon is spotlessly clean, elegant and welcoming. I had a really relaxing manicure and full pedicure. The results look amazing and I felt pampered and relaxed. All the other clientele were obviously regulars and no wonder. I had to cancel my original appointment and Mary was so thoughtful and caring when I called to tell her, that I was determined to go back. I’ve been a client of Nails by Mary for more than a decade. Mary Hoang and everyone on her staff give the most professional, beautiful manicures and pedicures in Houston. The atmosphere at the salon is warm and friendly. They have many long standing clients — Making an appointment here is doing yourself and your nails a real favor.

Mary fit me in today for a Christmas eve manicure that was absolutely divine! One of the cleanest, well kept salons I’ve seen in a long time. I opted for the shellac manicure as I’ve heard great things. While the color selection for shellac is limited, Mary wisely had selected some finger-​perfect neutral shades that were just what I was looking for! Aside from lasting up to 2 weeks (yet to be tested, but i have faith) this manicure was ready to be abused before I even walked out. Having little time to complete my elf-​ly errands, I immediately tested my manicure by trying on clothes and getting dressed for church right afterwards. It still looks as perfect and fresh as when I left. Can’t wait Tull February when she gets new colors in, but I’m already a complete convert… Both to Nails by Mary and to shellac!
