Had a blast at Nikki’s! Beer was cold the drinks were made right and the crowd was fun. A lot of locals here but that is part of the fun… one you meet one you get to know a few and the whole night becomes that much more fun. Our bartender Lindsay was very friendly and we never had to wait for our drinks! I will be going back to Nikki’s for sure.

I am not sure where I should begin this review at, so I guess I’ll start with the food. [= The food was AMAZING. I had a French dip sandwich and my boyfriend has the stuffed cabbage rolls. They were both amazing, but honestly, I was jealous that I didn’t order the cabbage rolls myself. Luckily, they give you three ginormous and I mean GINORMOUS stuffed cabbage rolls with two sides. This meal alone could feed at least 2 very hungry people, if not three people. The only issue with this, is finding somebody who will share their cabbage rolls. I know, if it was my cabbage rolls that I had ordered for dinner, I wouldn’t dream of sharing unless I absolutely had to [=. I even had to sneak a bite … or 5(shhhh lol) from my boyfriends plate. .We did get everything to go, but we ordered at the bar while having a drink. Also, if you plan on ordering an adult beverage from Katz’s bar, then you better be prepared to pay. It was nearly $ 8 for a well vodka and orange juice. If I would have know that, I would have ordered a $ 3 Miller Light like my boyfriend did. I understand that we went on a Saturday night at 11:30pm and that nobody has a happy hour or drink specials on Saturdays or that late in general, but $ 7.45 for a well is beyond absurd if you ask me. There specialty drinks, which include top shelve liquors and martins were only $ 8! I would have ordered one of those! If that’s not a rip off, I don’t know what is!!! Another ridiculous fee that they add, or at least try to add is this«to go» automatic gratuity. First, I want to say is that I am a server, and have been for almost 10 years. I know that this(tips and gratuity) is how anyone in the service industry makes their money and pays their bills, and I never«stiff» a server or bartender. EVER. This being said, I asked about the«to go gratuity charge“because ‘gratuity’ and alcohol tax are the two biggest changes in the service industry that started in 2014. January 1, 2014 to be exact. I asked the manager, Jeremy, about that automatic gratuity and he decided to argue with me. He ended up taking off the automatic gratuity, but it wasn’t easy. Where I work you NEVER make a guest feel like they are in the wrong, especially when they aren’t! I was so mad. The bartender, Jessica, was awful at best. You could tell by her attitude, that I was clearly a burden that just so happened to sit at her bar. I understand the difference between being busy and in the weeds and just not giving a crap about her job or more importantly, her guests. She was rude and didn’t want to spend 5 seconds with us to answer some questions that we had regarding the menu, the one saving grace is that the hostesses helping us. These two hostesses went beyond their job title as «hostess». I am kicking myself because I did not catch either of their names when they clearly deserve recognition at the least. Especially, since they care about the guests more than that manager and bartender. I wish I got their names, but there was two. They were both young, in their late teens or early 20’s. One was a short, skinny, white girl with long straight brown hair and the other was a tall, skinny black girl with short curly hair. The two hostesses payed more attention and were more helpful then the bartender and manager! Service was so bad that I had to contact them directly. There food was flawless though. That’s why I gave them two stars. One for the food and the other for the awesome hostesses. This was regarding our visit on Saturday February 15, 2014 approximately 11:15pm.

Just stopped in for a quick drink, and to check up on the place. I used to go there many years ago. Place looks just about the same as it did back then. I think the only difference was the updated/upgraded juke box. we sat down and the bar tender poured us a free shot because we sat in their«special seat». Not much to this place. It is basically a bard, a juke box, and a pool table. No smoking inside was nice. I would go here again if i were in the area and looking for a tiny, divey drinking hole.

I used to work near here and would come often for that after work beer which is necessary if you’re in the service industry. It’s great to have a dive where you can always get on the pool table and never have to wait long for a drink. On the other hand, their beer selection is not great and they only have two drafts. They also don’t have a full bar liquor-wise. The regulars kind of creep people out(Danielle G) but they’re generally just normal squirrels trying to get a nut. They might be old squirrels but I applaud their moxie. Nikki’s doesn’t try to be anything its not and thats it’s charm.

Niki’s is our neighborhood ‘local’ — usually someone I know is in there either on the way home from work or getting out for a drink in the evening. drafts drafts, full bar, occasional bar food. The crowd is pretty diverse — some really regular regulars, off shift wait staff from the restaurants up and down I-10. Sometimes you see a few folks who look a little uncomfortable at the basic décor and the regular regulars — they should try City Center.

This place is weird… has some odd level of creepiness that is more apparent here than other dingy feder-road pubs. It felt like the holding cell for people before they expire or fall off the face of the planet. Or where junkies come to wait for their«dude» either way, it’s odd. Maybe less odd if you’re not a chick dressed in a semi-cute outfit of course. Either way, I wouldn’t want to come back even if I was wearing a rubber suit. Yeah, and the crockpot of boiled day-old hot dogs sitting on this corner table for patrons to «help themselves» was more gross than you can imagine. Seeing drunk people actually help themselves to it was just fowl. Beyond. Fail… I’m certain there are things that are going on here in the back that I don’t want to know about, possibly the selling/trading of body parts or organs. Or maybe a labratory for«substances» …hmmmmm. Basically, in my mind this place is the perfect location for CSI or COPS.

It’s great to go to for a laid back environment. We now know 3 of the bartenders– so that helps!(Good drinks!) It’s pretty small inside, but there is a pool table and a digital jukebox. Out back is where we normally hang out. Small but nice covered patio with picnic tables– great for playing domino’s!

This is the sister bar of O’Malley’s Irish Pub and The Old Brick Tavern. Same concept runs throughout the bars. Brick walls, small interior, fun regulars, sasssy but fun bartendars. The beer is always cold and party always fun.

Went here with the gf and her parents while in houston over a holiday weekend. Great little dive bar within easy walking distance of their house, and even has a back patio to hang out outside. Gf says the only negative is the women’s bathroom.
