The volunteers are super nice and believe in what they’re doing. They even let my kids come there on a field trip and talked to them all about their new cooperative farm. My kids now want to move into the Nuwaters building. If you live in the area, and even if you don’t, come shop at Nuwaters. It’s like a grocery shopping spa(for the soul).

Such a beautifully welcoming, inspiring, co-op that really reaches out to and nourishes the community. No other place in Houston can you buy organic produce and other food staples for this cheap and be supporting such a progressive, positive solution for helping bring people together as equals and give everyone the opportunity to eat healthy whole food.

I was given great information about where to find essential oils. They carry fresh fruits and vegetables. But the lady from the front promised she’d make sure to let me know when she got local neem oil in. I need it for my sensitive skin

I really like this business. Nu-Waters is located in 3rd Ward and is a Black owned grocery store. It is the only one in the city to my knowledge and definitely the only one in 3rd Ward. The fruits and veggies are excellent. I’ve only had one problem with their selection, ever and that was a watermelon I picked out was over-ripe. I do a lot of juicing and cooking so I really enjoy going there to find something to make smoothies out of or to cook. Nu-Waters is a good model and I hope to see more Black owned grocery stores in our neighborhoods which have traditionally become food deserts.
