these kolaches are by far the best I’ve ever had. the difference is in the dough… the flavor(very slightly sweet) and fluffy texture of the bread sets it apart from others…

I consider this place to have some of the best kolaches in Houston. The people that work there are very friendly. I got a bacon, egg, and cheese kolache as well as a couple sweet/fruit ones. The fruit ones are FAR better than those at kolache factory and the savory ones were also better — the ingredients tasted fresher. All in all a great place. I will definetely be back!

The cream cheese and fruit kolaches are fairly good. If you want to get your fruit kolache fix, come here. It would be nice to see some poppyseed kolaches, but that might be more of a Central Texas regional thing. The bacon kolaches are also fine, but avoid the sausage kolache. I got a jalapeño sauage kolaches that was like a lil’ smokie and a slice of pickle jalapeño in a cavernous kolache.

My favorite breakfast… Olde towne is by far the yummiest. Try their bacon and cheese kolache!!!

I came here twice. This is my 2nd time. I think there is not a balance between the bread and bacon cheese. To much bread or the bread is too dense.

First time visiting Old Towne and I had a good experience. The staff were attentive and friendly enough. Ordered two kolaches: egg, cheese & bacon, and a raspberry filled. The EC&B one was edible. Wouldn’t rush back to get another, but that raspberry filled kolache was soooo good! The bread was crazy tasty. Would love another now, but the shop closes in a few. I also ordered a cup of coffee. It was okay. Have yet to find a spot in Houston that serves good coffee. Any suggestions?!

LOVE the Bacon and Cheese Kolaches! Bread is amazing and bacon is thoroughly cooked and tasty! Haven’t tried all kolaches. Pecan Coffe flavor is also so tasty. Customer service was great as well. Don’t know if every employee can deploy the same customer service but great experience over all.

I have a love/hate relationship with this place. Every few days I crave a kolache and can’t wait to get here. And then I get here and have a kolache and realize I totally could have gone all week without one. Or I will love it and wonder why I don’t come here everyday. I don’t come here everyday because they are INCREDIBLY inconsistent. Well, with the bread that is. The sausage is consistently small and puny. I mean for the price they charge per kolache I’m sure they can afford better ingredients.

BF picked me up some jalepeno sausage cheese and strawberry cream cheese kolache. Best way to describe it… it was HORRIBLE! The sausage was overcooked and the size of my finger. The cheese was old and dried up. I’m curious to know if they would even eat what they serve. There’s already a 50% profit margin in bakeries, but must the bread to filling must also be the same? He might as well have gone out and bought a loaf of bread. I would NEVER eat at this place again. Shipley’s cost less and taste better.

I don’t get the poor ratings. Place is great. I ordered two kolaches. Bacon and cheese and potato and egg. Ate the bacon and cheese on the ride back to work. Man, it was great. The bacon to bread ratio was perfect. By perfect they exceeded what I imagined would be in there. Got back to the office and was full so I split the potato and egg one with a coworker. He thought the potatoes were great. I thought the eggs were so fluffy and good they could be a dish by itself. I am also amazed they fit so much filling in without it getting mushy. Two huge kolaches for 4 bucks is a deal in my mind. I will drive pass Shipley’s(I still love you) and Kolache Factory to grab a couple here.

I came here because of a groupon, and I was quite excited to use it because I love kolaches! I came on a Saturday morning around 9 o’clock. There were no other customers inside, and there was one guy standing behind the counter on the phone. I would like to mention that he was on the phone the entire that I was there, just blabbing in Spanish, which turned out to be a waste of my time because I was in there for 10 minutes. It shouldn’t take 10 minutes to order six kolaches. Anyways I asked for breakfast tacos, but they ran out. Oh darnit, so I just settled for what I originally came for: kolaches. I ordered six kolaches, which turned out kind of tasteless and bland. They left a weird aftertaste in my mouth. I was disappointed. I won’t be coming back. I can find better prices and better tasting kolaches elsewhere.

Yuck — that’s really all I can think of when reviewing this place. Once again got roped into trying a new place with a Groupon — this one was probably my worst experiment yet. I ordered two chicken empanadas, a fajita kolache and a sticky bun. The fajita kolache was a big gooey doughey thing with meat that was both tasteless and tough as a shoe sole — I ended up feeding it to my dogs. The chicken empanadas were made of the same gooey sweet dough and had nothing to do with an empanada. They were more like a sweet kolache with chicken and cheese tucked inside, edible but not very good. I am not sure about the sticky bun, given my other two experiences I think I will trash it and cut my losses.

I love the bacon n cheese Kolaches and sausage & jalapeño pockets. Nice workers, clean shop with a lot to choose from. Kind of pricey but well worth the money.

I love the kolaches here! I used to live nearby and always treated myself to warm, delicious, fluffy sausage and cheese kolaches on my days off. I love that they have the long sausage kolaches(unlike some of the other places who deceivingly use cocktail size sausages). I like that they have variety and also the sweet breakfast foods too like danishes, I just happen to be a kolache lover so never got around to tasting those. Definitely a good meat-to-bread ratio and always fresh!
