Food is horrible. The caldo de mariscos(seafood soup) that I got was disgusting it had no flavor & also had a weird nasty taste to it. And for a small soup it’s almost $ 8 with no drink. I didn’t get any type of salt or salsa to mix the soup with.

For a Friday lent evening there was hardly any patrons in the restaurant which was very unexpected for a seafood restaurant in the middle of lent. I was really hoping for an upbeat Mexican restaurant w good seafood plates. I was looking forward to ceviche and a good grilled fish plate but none of the dinner plates had grilled fish and the waitress hardly spoke any English to recommend anything grilled. We ended up ordering a small fish ceviche bc I was a little afraid that the food isn’t fresh considering the quietness of the restaurant. It turned out pretty good and decently fresh. Don’t get me wrong I was still questioning the freshness of the fish but we didn’t get food poisoning sooo that was good! We also ordered a fish and shrimp plate. It came w several pieces of fish and shrimp w fried rice. I wish I had gotten something grilled bc the batter was too thick. Nonetheless I ate some w the batter on it and ended up taking off the batter and eating the fish only. Overall I think I’ll try it again but may be another location!

While the front door to the Mexican Seafood restaurant(Ostioneria) is actually on Zoe street, this is in fact the blue building right on the I-10 feeder road. Extremely easy to see from I-10. You can get to it by taking the Lathrop or Kress exits. I’ve eaten here at least half a dozen times, and have always been impressed with the food quality. Very fresh fish and unique recipes. The queso cheese is excellent and will worth the extra $ 2 to add it to your free chips and salsa. Very large inside with comfortable seating and quite pleasant service.
