I love getting my fresh water fish there. François is awesome and very knowledgeable!!!

I came today and tried to use a coupon that Petco themselves emailed to me o my mobile device and the store manager told me I couldn’t use it unless I printed it out.
Seriously?
Also this place really needs to be cleaned once in a while, it’s all grimey and it stinks.

What can I say about this PETCO? Nothing very positive unfortunately. This place is always such a mess, and they seem to have very incompetent employees. Don’t get me wrong I love Petco, I believe that they provide superior quality of goods versus Petsmart; however, is just so dirty inside. What do I mean when I say dirty? There’s constant urine everywhere from the dogs, and no one seems to clean it up. You can never find employee when you really need one because they’re always talking or fooling around. Talk to me it’s not good quality of service, and it makes me hate going there. Id rather but online and pay a shipping fee.

Two stars only because the cashiers are friendly. I’d been visiting this Petco for a few years, but had several upsetting experiences there and now take my business elsewhere.
I have two dogs, a cat, and some fish, so you can imagine that we would need a variety of toys, food, accessories, and even immunizations, all of which we used to get from Petco. Around January 2012 they advertised new dog training classes, and had a sign up sheet for more information («classes starting soon!»), which I immediately jumped on. I spoke to the woman with the information, who said that the dog trainer would be starting in a 4 – 6 weeks, and will give me a call once they had a set schedule and were accepting applications. Two months later, I still hadn’t heard anything. I ended up going to Petco for an unrelated reason, and they were still advertising the dog training classes («classes starting soon!»). I spoke to another person, and asked why no one called me the first time. The response I got was the dog trainer is still in training, but that if I’d like to sign up AGAIN, someone would contact me in 4 – 6 weeks when they were ready to begin. I’m fairly skeptical at this point, especially since the dog trainer would be brand new with NO experience, but I sign up AGAIN. That was over a year ago, and I still haven’t received a call. I see an ad on their Unilocal page for dog training classes, and I just can’t believe that they’re still advertising, but not calling someone who signed up twice for their two dogs. Fail.
The final straw was a few months later. I received a goldfish from one of my friends, who had been keeping it in a 3-​gallon tank-​small backstory, this fish had been having problems, and she removed him from her larger tank so it didn’t mess up the other fish that were in there. For the past year the fish had been switching between a water pitcher and this tank, because we constantly thought he was going to die. So after a year of hanging on like this, I decided to take the fish for my own, since it obviously wasn’t about to die (maybe it was just stupid?), and I went to buy an identical 3-​gallon tank and another goldfish for companion. Petco refused to sell me a goldfish, for two «reasons». First, because I was also buying a tank, they wouldn’t sell me a goldfish at the same time. I would have to buy the tank, set it up for a week, and then come back with ‘proof’ that the tank had been up and running for a week. I still don’t understand how that works. I mean, do they need pictures of the tank each day, set up, next to the daily newspaper? When I questioned the reasoning behind this, he said it’s so that the filter would be running smoothly. That’s when I pointed out that its for a goldfish, which don’t need air filters. I mean, they sell tanks clearly labeled «goldfish bowls» which don’t have filters. Every little kid has had a goldfish in one of these bowls, without a filter. The «fish expert» then gave me a really rude look, and in a condescending tone said «goldfish DO need air filters, and I’m not going to sell you one of these fish. Sorry.»
I’m still upset about being lied to, treated so unprofessionally, and denied to ability to purchase a GOLDFISH (which people buy in bulk to FEED to other fish) that I’ve never been to Petco again. I’ve taken all my pet needs business to Amazon and Petsmart, where the people don’t make up lies and refuse to sell me a simple goldfish.

I’m surprised this Petco is still in business to be honest. Not because the place is bad necessarily, just because every time I go there I am literally the only customer. I normally go to Petsmart but have to go to this Petco for one specific item every once in a while. When I first walk in the first thing i notice is the HORRIBLE smell of the place. They have ferrets, which are incredibly stinky and 3 ferrets manage to stink up the entire place. They also don’t have much of selection. But I guess that varies from department to department. The staff however is very friendly and helpful, but that could be due to the fact that they are excited to finally have a customer.
