Horrible service! Our alarm system went out on a Sat. (Early in the day). They refused to come out and fix it until Monday. That’s crap! Service is horrible!

Would not have even given them 1 star but that’s the only way to leave a review. The customer service at Houston office is absolutely the worst. We have a commercial account and they sold us on all the wonderful things you can do online with eSuite & eSecure. The problem is that NOTHING IN eSECURE WORKS LIKE THEY SAY IT WILL! Same problem that John S from Spring, Tx mentioned in his 3÷30÷12 review. That tells me they have known about the problem since March 2012, still continue to sell the service even though they are fully aware that it does not work. I refused to send them the user codes I needed entered because I wanted them to make the system work like they said it would. Like John S. I was tired of waiting days for someone out of state to incorrectly enter a new code I needed. After 2 months of them trying to get my master code to work they just gave up and gave me what they call their «installer» code. So I guess I can now go into any program installed by Protection 1 and arm and dis-​arm your system! Makes me very leary of how many other prople out there also have the installer code…
Also, have been trying since June 29, 2015 to get them to correct our monthly billing amount. Have been told on 3 seperate occasions that someone will be calling me back right away. Still have heard from no one! Save yourself a huge headache and go with another company!

I was very pleased with the service I received this week. The technician, Anthony Humphrey was polite, professional, clean, friendly and took the time to repair my system to my satisfaction.

the alarm i was sold was not the alarm that was installed in my home. i will not do business with protection 1 ever again!

Cannot speak for the nation — But the customer Service in Houston in non-​existent. I am a commercial account and they cannot figure out a way for me to add user code through an online interface. I have to email the codes to Kansas and someone types them in. There is no way to double check — the codes are typed in incorrect and then the alarm goes off and you have to come down to disarm. It is 2012 they are running an 1970’s company — Do yourself a favor and go with a company that has made some progress in the last 20 years. On top of this — Try to get a customer service guys to call you back — It takes weeks!!!

I have moved from Houston and I wish they serviced the area where I live. They were always professional, easy to work with, and prompt. My system worked great and I don’t have one negative thing to say about them. I’ve been spoiled by having the best and wish I still could. So many companies seem to want me to jump through hoops but they didn’t and their staff was always friendly and never grumpy like others I have been dealing with. I miss them.

Don’t use PROTECTION ONE as your alarm provider!
My opinion is that they conduct business unethically. I used them15 years w/​o issue until 2008 Hurricane Ike fried the alarm system. I cancelled service by phone within a couple of weeks when we realized that the rebuild would take a long time. I was assured it was cancelled.
I had no contract for over a decade, just paid quarterly on auto-​pay. Once I saw my admitted error with the autopay, despite having no alarm service for a year after the hurricane, I called again. They they said that I had to put the cancellation in writing for 30 days in advance of cancellation despite having no alarm system which functioned since September 2008, and they refused to retractively cancel. They relentlessly had a bill collector call, home and cell, from morning to 8:30PM nightly, asking for $ 150 more to «resolve» the dispute, when I requested a refund.15 years of perfect payment and now this aggravation?
They said they’d keep calling unless I’d sign up with them again, on contract.
Finally, I went online and found the names and email addresses of various corporate executive officers, advising them all that I’d copy each of them on all correspondence and notes regarding all the harassing calls, and the calls and demand for more payment suddenly stopped.
I switched to ADT and have been very pleased.
