This place is a DIAMOND in the rough! Doesn’t look like much outside or in, with a humble grocery section in front that sells not much more than necessities and snacks. As you have to make your way to the back of the store, you’ll find a phenomenal meat counter, with a good assortment of quality meats and fresh sausages. It is very clean, and you can see through to the people working in the back. People rave about their fresh boudin(which is good, I had it and I fully agree, I’m just not all about boudin) but let’s talk about my favorite thing: FRESHJALAPEÑOCHEESESAUSAGE. The flavor is amazing, and the quality shines through. I can’t eat most jalapeño sausages without giving up a few bites in, but this one is perfectly spicy. I’ve also tried the marinated beef fajita meat, which was tasty and tender. I haven’t had their steaks yet, but they look very red and fresh, thick-cut, and well-marbled. I’m glad this place is only 5 minutes from me! Worth a stop if you live nearby or you’re in the area.

Best boudin in Houston! Cajun and creole sausages made in the meat market are great on the grill and they’ve got the best prices on produce. Pantry items can be a little pricey though.

I’ve purchased a fried turkey there a couple of times. My family loved them! I plan to do it again this year.

I’ve been coming here for years and it doesn’t get any better than this. I get so many different things from here. My favorites are the stuffed pork chops, chicken breasts and cornish hens. They are seasoned and stuffed with the mild boudain rice. My other picks are the boudain, hot or mild, summer sausage, and hot hog head cheese. I am so addicted to Pyburns. I’ve had this problem for about 17 years and it just won’t go away. It’s like Pyburns keeps calling me… LOL! You will not be disappointed here. It’s a small mom and pop type of grocery store/meat market, so you get a country type of feeling when you’re here. The employees are always friendly and helpful. If you come around a holiday, be prepared to wait. There will be a crowd for meat, so the check out lines may get backed up. Other than that, you’re wait time will be minimal. I promise if you try their meat, you will not be disappointed. Trust me on this.

Great little local meat market! This place is known all over for the boudin and fried turkeys for the holidays. We always make it a point to stop in and stock up on boudin, sausages, and ribletts when family is heading to H-town. The have a good selection for the size of the store.

Great place to get fresh boudin and sausage in Houston for a reasonable price. Word is out on this place… they sell tons of Boudin! Go to the back of the store to the meat counter and you will find it.

Small neighborhood market, that has a decent vegetable department(mexican food standards: tomatillos, cilantro, various peppers, etc) Love the Fresh Boudin from Pyburn’s. I have also had the stuffed cornish hens from here. Tasty! so my newly revealed Pyburn homey D’Ann P reminded me of the SUMMERSAUSAGE… it’s yummo!
