I don’t usually spend time writing reviews unless the place was amazing or really horrible. In this case, I love this place. I don’t really know why it has such low reviews. I currently live in Chicago but when I do come to Houston this is the spot that I hit up first. The food is good quality and huge portions at a pretty decent low price if you ask me. Sometimes the service could be a little slow and unorganized but i still keep coming back for the food. Definitely try the banh xeo(Vietnamese crêpe). It’s the biggest banh xeo I’ve ever seen and it’s so freaking good. My mouth is starting to water just thinking about it.

Com tam was ok nothing special, beef was a little off/sour and I found a little roach in my soup. The deep fried fish w/roe was good and crunchy. And Service was great and courteous.

Was my 2nd time here. Food was decent. I liked the braised fish the best. We also had the lobster, sweet and sour fish soup, calamari, egg rolls and bbq pprk spring rolls. The large tables would work well for larger groups. There’s just so many other good Asian food restaurants on Bellaire nothing really stood out to me to make me want to keep coming back.

I would come back until we got the bill. Three dollars for green leaf lettuce. If you give us enough lettuce for the banh xeo, then we wouldn’t need to order extra. Their beef dish was good but what is normally $ 9-$ 12 at other places it was $ 20-$ 25 here. Service was bad… took forever to get refills on the water.

Had the com bo luc lac, it was okay but not great. The meat was a lower quality then what I am used to. The fried rice was good as were the veggies.

Our family came here for dinner since we had a family member visit us from Cali. We ordered their speciality which was the banh Xeo. It was great but very huge so make sure u just order enough for your party. And then ordered a family of dinner of 4 which was a lot of food. Beef salad Clay pot fish Canh Calamari/Fried squid Everything was good, took plenty of food home. One negative is that they have live entertainment which was very loud, so we could barely hear each speak. Not good!

It’s conveniently located right next to hong kong city mall. The service is always fast there and they speak English pretty well, since my Vietnamese inst that good that is always helpful. I’ve only tried out a few items every time i go but nothing stands out as much as their fried chicken and sticky rice. I’ve always been a huge fan of this dish from kim son, one of my favorite actually but since kim son on bellaire doesn’t sell this anymore, que huong version suffices. Wide variety of items to choose from, nice and friendly staff.

I had been to Que Huong a couple of times, both at the Wilcrest location and to the Bellaire location. The 1st time was because a local food critic had raved about the tempura soft shell crabs they had. The 2nd time, I just came for their version of hot pot, or Lao Mam. On my most recent visit, I ordered the banh hoi chao tom, lao mam, chicken wings and banh xeo. I enjoyed all of the dishes, since I had had them before at other restaurants, but probably my favorite was the banh hoi chao tom. This location is sort of fancy inside and hosts weddings regularly. In the background, they are even playing wedding music most nights. I probably won’t be returning that often, but it a good place to come for authentic family-style vietnamese food.

The have relocated since have not been here in years. I always get the egg rolls, shrimp paste wrapped in a sugar cane and roll with rice noodle callee banh hoi. I make wrap using the moisten rice paper or lettuce. The. Filled with the shrimp paste and herbs such As mint, carrots, cilantro. Of course, gotta have the fish sauce dipping sauce which ties the flavors lending a sour and sweet vibrant tastes inherent to Vietnamese cuisines. The spicy beef noodle was alright in a cold evening but it is missig the ham hocks. I woud return but not soon since there are so much other places to eat in Bellaire!

Que Huang(pronounced way hung) is my favorite place for a family style Vietnamese dinner. I really like that they offer a menu that includes pre-arranged combinations for your party size. For example, they offer three different options for a party of six. Each includes a variety of five dishes that go well together. And, the family meals are very reasonably priced. Dinner for two is $ 28, for four is $ 38, and six is $ 69. This makes ordering easier, especially if you are less familiar with Vietnamese dishes. We had dinner for eight on Wednesday night. The restaurant was not crowded and service was relatively fast. My favorite dishes were the Goi Sui Tom Thit(jellyfish salad), Muc Rang Muoi(fried squid), and the Bo Luc Lac(shaking beef). Goi Sui Tom Thit contains a wonderful mixture of chopped vegetables(primarily cabbage), jellyfish, shrimp, and thin slices of pork. The dressing is nuoc mam based, but is light and has both a sweet and sour flavor. It seems to marinate the vegetables. Puffy, white shrimp chips are served on the side. These chips are crunchy, and give an interesting contrast to the other ingredients. The Muc Rang Muoi is a dish that is similar to Italian Fried Calamari. The batter is lighter and the squid is cut into flat wide pieces(no tentacles). The squid pieces are dusted with batter and fried with onions and sliced jalapeño peppers. They were salty and tender, and the jalapenos gave a nice amount of spice. The Vietnamese create a dipping sauce for the squid by mixing salt, pepper, and lime juice. The Bo Luc Lac is a wonderful preparation of filet mignon served with fresh green vegetable salad. The meat is cut into bite sized pieces and marinated in Maggi seasoning, garlic, sugar, salt, and pepper. The meat is cooked medium rare and it is tender and flavorful. The green vegetables really stood out in this dish. They were a perfect compliment to the flavorful meat. We had several other dishes that were good, but I thought they did an especially good job with these three.

The service is TERRIBLETERRIBLETERRIBLE. I come in with a party of 6, we were seated at a tiny table before we requested for a bigger table. After we were moved, the server didn’t come to our table until we literally had to flag him and 5 other servers down. We went ahead and ordered our drinks and food when he finally comes to the table. It took us 15 minutes to get our WATERS. The servers were nonchalantly sitting at the table while we were waiting for our drinks. It doesn’t get any better from here. Everyone at our table received food but one person. Doesn’t that automatically strike as odd? There are 6 people at the table and all but one has their food? We told the whole waitstaff that someone hasn’t gotten their food and they replied with«okay», then proceed to go back to sitting and talking to their coworkers. It wasn’t until the 4th time our waiter comes back and says we never ordered the 6th entrée. Really now? You’re seriously going to argue? Your servers couldn’t tell you that one of your tables was missing something? We are never coming back. Again, I cannot express how terrible the service is here.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant since I was kid and they had their set up at Wilcrest. Their Phở is amazing and their family service is one of the main reasons I keep coming back.

Poor restaurant. We ordered the butter fried quail. The cook messed up and made it incorrectly. So the server brought the dish out informed us it was made incorrectly and insisted that it was a better dish and tried to serve us this food. Of course we said no and that we wanted what we had ordered. The server took the dish back they rinsed the sauce off and sent it back out and insisted that this was a new dish and the correct one. Now I’m no food snob but this is just terrible service.

Egg rolls is come out with bad smell, I told waitress take it away bc is really bad, the waitress come to talk and show the egg roll to a couple owner sitting at the corner, I saw two owner say something to him, and owner couple sit down again say something and look at my table and smile like nothing happening, and this like normal to them? Not even sorry and try to apologize… I think they continue to service next customers the same way, don’t know what’s next dish will brings out to the table… any kind of business you doing, needs to have motility ur own. but they really don’t! So sad!!! Avoid!!! No more come to here! Under zero start! Worst food, not clean, and bad service also! Lost customers and sure will more and more lost if they don’t be careful.

Only thing consistent is the slow service even with Togo orders. Ordered Togo, show up 20 minutes after, still waiting and it’s 20 minutes after I arrive still no food. No one approaches me until I ask where the heck the food is… still waiting. Pretty awesome when you have a hungry and cranky toddler with you.

I loved this restaurant even when they were at their older location. The menu is so broad that everyone in the family will be pleased with what they order! I shared the ga nuong xa with my sister, along with ordering extra rice. The chicken was a tad dry but this was my first problem with them. Their chicken is usually spot on delicious. The portions were also so large that it worked out perfectly and we were both full. My dad loves getting the rice platter dishes and my mom gets the banh canh. I’m telling you, the menu feels almost endless! The quality of the food is very authentic and nicely presented as well. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try because who can go wrong with going to a restaurant with a gigantic menu and tons of picky eaters!

I gave this place 5 star because of their bánh xèo. This place so far is the place has the best bánh xèo in Houston, it is very closed to the taste in Vietnam, and I always come back here for bánh xèo. Other foods are above average, some of them are good, but nothing really special besides bánh xèo, fried butter chicken wings are good, but the fish sauce chicken wings are too salty for me.

Wow… Servers were very attentive, polite & cheerful. On top of those great qualities, both of our orders were extremely delicious. We ordered Hu Tieu Nam Vang & Mi Quang, both accompanied with super fresh veggies for our soup. Will definitely return to try the family dinners. Thumbs up!

Great delicious Vietnamese food! Had the com tam que huong(rice with assorted pork and eggs) and it was great! They also serve other noodles and Vietnamese common plates. Service was alright being an Vietnamese restaurant. It was a little under staffed for a Sunday afternoon since my waiter was running back and forth for at least 48-people tables. But he was a good waiter for the most part

Was hankering for a fantastic Banh Xeo and this place did not disappoint. Fresh herbs and lettuce served up first — usually restaurants serve a bit wilted or brown greens — not here. The crêpe was huge crispy and tasty. We also got a BBQ pork bahn mi — very well done. Tasty Vietnamese coffee, but used to ones with a bit more condensed milk. They were very light with it.

Excellent service! The waitress we had was attentive and at our table when we needed something. If you look at my pictures of this place, you can see we ate a lot that night. I don’t remember the names of all the dishes, but everything tasted great/okay/not too shabby except for the muc rang muoi. Thai tea wasn’t too great either, but lau de, seafood salad, snails(forget actual name), canh chua ca kho to, and the rest of other dishes did not disappoint. What shocked me was the price. Including $ 50 tip equals to about $ 180? Sheesh! I’m coming back for sure. My only complaint is the music! Please turn it down. This place is a restaurant with kids and seniors, not a bar/club.

This is the new located on the edge of Hong Kong City Mall. I prefer the hole in the wall, but this location a more aesthetically pleasing venue that would be better for special gatherings. The dining room is large, and the roof has a lovely dome that lets in a nice glow of sunlight. The menu is vast, almost mind boggling. They center on noodles though, and they have a wide variety of noodles soups and stir fried noodles. They also have a create your own crushed rice combo starting at $ 7.50, where you choose three components. Some of the options are grilled pork, beef, egg roll, fried egg, shrimp, shredded pork, egg cakes, and pork roll. Full course family meals are offered where you choose one dish from a lists in each category, which seems nice for large parties. Our server was very helpful in offering suggestions. I went for the create your own crushed rice dish with grilled pork, beef, and pork roll, the latter two premium items costing an additional $.50 each. Our spring roll appetizer came out quickly, as we were some of the only patrons there for weekday lunch. They tasted very fresh, and the peanut sauce had plenty of crushed peanuts and a dash of chile sauce. Yum! The entrée, while looking absolutely stunning was just okay. While I appreciated the surprise potato and ground pork soup on the side, the grilled pork and beef served with the crushed rice were a little on the dry side and under seasoned. The pork roll was yummy. My friend enjoyed his noodle soup #21, and it had a nice spiciness to it, but it was on the bland side. We added a bit of salt to improve the flavor. We received a free three bean dessert due to a promotion they have this month if you spend $ 10 or more. It was icy and tasty. Fun fact: You can usually see the owner with his black rimmed glasses and balding head hunched over his laptop in the dining room keeping careful watch over his operations.
