Drove 20 miles only to find out that the restaurant is temporarily closed due to a fire.

This is really a 4 star review because I am pretty sure that without the karaōke, any other imperfections or «elements» would have been ignored by me. Got to the parking lot and kept on hearing music on and off as the door opened and closed. I asked myself if this was a club or a restaurant that Unilocalers brought me too. There was a commissioned security guard at the front door making me think that maybe they convert this place into a club after hours butt it was only about 9:30 p.m. Well, I was already here so I shrugged my doubts off and went inside. Walking in I nodded to the security guard and asked if they were opened as a restaurant or did I catch the wrong hour and he said that they were open and beckoned me in. Very nice guy, you don’t get that kind of treatment in too many places to +1. I was greeted by this lady you could tell was most likely either the owner or at least the manager. I had a warm welcoming from her but unfortunately looked around, saw maybe 3 empty deuce tables and nicely but frankly had to say that I will definitely be back another day. Went down the road to Wings n More but the smell of this place had me yearning to come back and say«fork it, I’m going in!». Back again this time my eating buddy went with me and we got a table knowing that I might have a miserable time. Backtrack, Friday nights are Karaōke nights, remember that, if you find it hard to enjoy a meal and eat it with semi loud music playing then you might want to do what I am going to do and come back in the day time, any day time to where it is very quiet(said the waitress) and try it again. I forgot already what we ordered but it ended up being the plate with the 4 chicken wings, 2 side orders and«hot water» cornbread… what the heck is «hot water» cornbread? *shrugging*. Also ordered the waffle of the day which was«pound cake waffle». Food came to the table, couldn’t wait to try the wings since the aroma that smacked me in the face and took a strangle hold on my nostrils a while ago beckoned me to come back. Did the corn bread first, it was ok, not too sweet, baked then probably finished off pan heated to get that«crust» on each side. Was a little too much on the brown side for my taste but did not taste burnt. The macaroni and cheese… er…spaghetti and cheese? The menu said baked macaroni and cheese butt I swore I got spaghetti and cheese. The waitress told me that they were long pastas… uh ok so if they were another 1 mm. longer I could classify them as spaghetti noodles? lol that side dish was actually good because it did not taste like they used the powder or the«cheese» sauce that one would expect. Do any of you remember how good Luby’s mac and cheese tasted about 15 years ago? Yes, this stuff tasted like it had the real McCoy in it and I was impressed, kind of. First time in my life I have ever had spaghetti and cheese, different but it was good. My friend had the fried okra but I forgot to ask how it was. The waffle of the day, it was called«pound cake waffle». I did not pay too much attention when it was said but read so much about the waffles here and that was the 2nd thing that convinced me to brave doing this on karaōke night. It came out about 5 minutes after our chicken and spaghetti… er baked mac n cheese plate came out. Dark brown? Ok, I get it, it’s «pound cake waffle» so I guess it is supposed to be this color? Finally got to my two squares(other two went to eating buddy as we usually split everything so we can make our own reviews but at half the cost) and seemed a little too dry for me. I was disappointed, where was that fluffy fulfilling waffle everybody was talking about? Oh I get it, it’s «pound cake waffle» so I should have ordered the regular waffle so I will disregard that as a mis order on my part. Music, not really my cup of tea even though sometimes I will listen to R and B(thank god no hip hop because even if they were giving away free lobsters and ribeye I’d still be running out of there) but I was really not in to listening to people do the karaōke thing but I braved it just to try the food here. There was a climatic point when Al Green was played which got me finding myself singing out some parts of «let’s stay together» before catching myself, ducking my head back to my table and burying my head into my food. Service, excellent! I love the attitude of everybody here! All the way from the front of the door with the security guard, to the owner/manager right at the door, to every service that passed by us. I mentioned to my food buddy that it was like we were at a party instead of a restaurant, In all I definitely will be back except on Friday nights. This is a 4 star review in hiding.

«You gon’ eat yo’ cornbread?» DAMNRIGHT I WILL. You better watch out Breakfast Klub, there’s a new chicken and waffles joint in town. First off, there’s NOT an hour wait, there’s a private lot, and they have a beer/wine license. There are still not a lot of tables but the place is still new so if you’re lucky you can join in before it gets too crowded. I started out with the sweet tea which was perfect, and not too expensive($ 2.00), and you get FREE refills. As far as the food, I got the chicken and waffles. It comes with 4 wings, flavored/battered very well. Reminded me of ranch from pluckers. Then as far as the waffle, it’s super fluffy, perfectly crispy, covered in a few slices of strawberries, and served with melted butter and sweet syrup on the side. It was soooo good! My loving gf was dragged along even though she doesn’t like chicken wings, so she opted for the Resie’s combo #2, which is grilled chicken breast, tasted like fajita meat, a side of sweet potato fries, a side salad, and CORNBREAD. The best thing out of her combo was the cornbread. It was spectacular. It was like they baked it then fried it because it’s crispy on the outside. The service was very attentive. They even have a cop outside, I guess people get rowdy for their chicken and waffles.

A business colleague suggested we meet here for lunch when some New York staff was visiting. I was skeptical, but things turned out well. Everyone loved it! We shared some macaroni and collard greens, both of which I liked but probably make just as well at home. Three of us got chicken and waffles, which I’d never really had before. The waffles were the right balance of crunchy and fluffy, and the wings were huge. One person got them smothered, which looked amazing, but a bit too rich for a working lunch. Our server did accidentally omit my order, but the kitchen fixed that pretty quickly once he realized that 3 plates had come out for 4 people. I’ll definitely go back to Resie’s.

After hearing so much and receiving so many photos of the food from Resie’s via a friend, we got the wonderful opportunity to stop into this spot. It’s not that big on the inside but its workable. I ordered the Fat Mack Combo which consists of 4 large fried wings/2 sides/hot water cornbread…#heaven. They even mentioned karaōke on Fridays from 5pm — 8pm– of course we will be checking that out soon! I’m sure you are wondering why is this dude saying all of these wonderful things about this place but isn’t giving 5 stars… Well the waiter gave me a bottle of hot sauce that had not been opened so I had to fight with breaking the seal for several minutes… I don’t care what you guys think but I feel that should have been taking care of before handing it to me… Everything else is ALL good!

This has quickly become my favorite place for wings and waffles. They have the most variety of waffles in Houston and each one is as good as the next. My personal favorite is the pound cake waffle, which is easily the best waffle I have ever tasted. Sweet potato is a close second and the coffee cake waffle is also worth mentioning. The wings are huge and accompanied with the right hot sauce is as good as any wing spot in H-town. The staff is very attentive, I always get my food fast, and there has never been a mistake on my order. I have become a regular over the past few weeks and I make a point to visit at least once a week. This is one of the best new restaurants in Houston hands down.

Best wings in town. It’s more bang for your buck here at Resie’s. My sister and I arrived there late Friday night to be greeted by a friendly waitstaff. The establishment provides excellent service and the food runners were also very prompt with drink refills. I’d have to say TJ offers the best service with a nice smile and friendly demeanor! The Fat Mack is the combo to get if you’re craving a nice amount of evenly battered and season chicken wings. It comes with two sides of your choice and the cornbread. The combo is fairly priced, compared to the combos at The Breakfast Club. Your food is made fresh to order, so you know you’re not eating reheated food at all. The cornbread is actually smashed into a shape of a flat bread and toasted to give an edge of crispiness when bitten into. The mac and cheese is very creamy, although the portions for the sides appear small, they’re all actually very filling. My sister ordered the special of the day pound cake waffles topped with strawberries. Talk about the best waffles in the world. It even tops Roscoe’s! The waffles were very crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It melted in my mouth instantly. Overall the food quality was superb. It’s not your typical greasy, serving of Timmy Chan’s wings and rice combo. The pricing is reasonably fair for the amount ordered. I will definitely come back here!
