I like the ambiance and food was delicious. I had salmon with fries and vegetables. Superb. Except for a dirty beer glass and a piece of cork in my wine glass, the service was great. I’d go back

Interesting atmosphere, but mediocre food: that’s how I’d sum up my experience at Revolve. I met some colleagues who were staying at Hotel Derek in this bar-kitchen for dinner. The lighting and music gave the place a nightclub or lounge-like feel, with well-dressed ladies and gents sitting at dining tables, at the bar, or on cushioned sofas and armchairs. There are pool tables, a chessboard, and a few other games in the backroom. We started off with the manchego stuffed dates, which were very small but struck a fine balance between sweet and savory. The pan-seared salmon was a bit of a letdown, however. The presentation was pleasing to the eye, but the fish was a touch overcooked and tough. The creamy green sauce was the best part of the dish, but ultimately isn’t enough to justify the $ 28 plate. The drinks were stiff, but took quite a while to arrive. Not a bad place to hang out and grab a few drinks if you’re at the hotel, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to check it out.

The ambiance here is trendy-chic in a unique way(upscale lounge-lizard kinda way). We had the pretzel, which was delish. We also had the beer battered asparagus with dipping sauce. This was the first time that I had experienced this type of asparagus and was pleasantly surprised. The drinks were solid — stiff and quick service from the bartender. The only complaint that I really had was that there was a weird ‘smell’ in the bar — not sure if it was the cleaning products that they use or something else, but it was a little off — otherwise it is not a bad spot for a drink or quick bar bite.

I spent a few nights at Hotel Derek and ordered several dishes from Revolve during my stay. The pretzel was hot, fresh, and delicious. Can’t really go wrong here. Tomato Bisque was fine, not bad but not great. Chopped salad was good, but again, not too memorable. Portion sizes on all dishes were very generous and service was warm and attentive at the bar. Basically, the food is fine when you’re tired, hungry, and don’t wish to drive elsewhere, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to return.

Awesome first ‘bar’ experience in Houston. Revolve kitchen + bar is for a full meal or just gathering at the bar. But or else I’m missing something there wasn’t much dedication to the sit-down dining experience as there is to more so chilling out and getting a drink or two. The bar is wrap-around. The bartender Art, and the all-around staff were very attentive and friendly. I even got some free popcorn elegantly poured into a whiskey glass out of the evening. — ok to be fair, everyone at the bar got one. The appetizer I had, chicken fried ribs with some kinda sauce, tastes(like but better than) a Big Mac sauce. The ribs were crunchy, but not too much, on the outside but so soft and TENDER on the inside!!! And there’s lil droplets in each rib(they are in squares) that allows you to infuse as much or little in the rib. I was ALLIN. Even sucked the sauce out the droplets after(sry… TMI) Oh there’s also a pool area that’s well lit, nothing like a dive bar. So I would say great for a hang out sesh with a prospective significant other. It’s chill enough for you to hang out but no real agenda like a sit down that you will have to sit through a full dinner. Ambiance– LOVE the eclectic feel. The cowhide bar chairs. Typography. Light in décor. Great vibes. Love. Love. Love. Go here. Now. Just not with the largest party. Idk. Just saying.

We stopped by for a drink around 11:30pm on a Sat. The bartender looked miserable and was unhappy to see us… we got drinks and was told to leave for closing, by the security guard, by 12:01pm.

The décor was nice and that’s about it. Prepare for another rant because that seem to be the only thing I do, oops. The waitress forgot to enter our drink orders so we sat there for 15 minutes without drinks until the bartender had to come over to take our orders again. Yay, teamwork –__–(Mind you, this was dead hour and there weren’t a lot of people. At some point we were the only people there). They took 35 – 40 minutes to bring out our first course, which was literally soup and bruschetta bread? I couldn’t understand why it was taking them so long during the hours where they had the opportunity to give great service. Luckily, we weren’t treated as badly as the gentleman that was sitting next to us. He came around the same time and waited 20 min but no one came to greet him or brought him a menu. He had to catch OUR waitress when she was done taking our order to ask for a menu. He waited another 10 then 20 and decided to leave, still without a greeting or drinks. I felt so bad for the gentleman because he was treated like an inconvenience to them and I think I was generally soured the entire time because I had to witness that. The service here is god awful and we were in that restaurant for over two hours. The food came out and I had the two vegetarian options on the HRW menu. The bruschetta bread and their grilled vegetable sandwich. The first course was decent but the main course wasn’t that great. They overcooked the sandwich and part of the bread was inedible because I didn’t want to chip a tooth. The bread was a rock… I liked the cheese they used for the sandwich and the vegetables were cooked pretty well. The last course was a brownie and that was really good. I think the brownie saved this horrid lunch experience.

Ordered two drinks and it took about 20 minutes. Each drink came separately. I asked about parking and they told me I can get it valeted or use the self service for $ 7(I paid $ 10.83 for parking) The first course took about 45 minutes… My French onion soup took about 45 minutes. 45. Minutes. French onion soup. It was good though! Second course didn’t take too long. Got the hangover burger which was… A burger with an egg and hash browns. Fries on the side. Not bad. Third course was banana pudding which was probably the best out of all three. Anyway I forgot to mention that the place had about 3 tables filled, including my own, and the service felt as if it was a full house! It was also confusing having two servers and only seeing them outside the kitchen a few times. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional, but on the bright side there was a crazy woman going off at another woman outside our window! This helped keep me and my girlfriend entertained whilst waiting for my 45 minute French onion soup on a slow day. I bumped it up to two stars because we had a hot Russian waitress. Have a nice day!

Ate here at Houston restaurant week with my family and we were thoroughly satisfied! We went for a late lunch at 2pm and there were not very many people there(which we preferred). The staff was incredibly attentive and very friendly. Parking is inside the hotel’s garage and they give a validated ticket in the restaurant. I ordered deviled eggs for the first course, hangover burger for the second, and the brownie for the third. The only complaint i would have is the burger. I asked for medium well but it was well done. I don’t mind. Next time, id just ask for it done medium rare. I also tried their banana pudding and will definitely be ordering that the next time i come.

This place is pretty cool. I had been to it when it was under a different name and honestly not much has changed. Other than a few different decorations, the set up is the same and I believe that the food menu is the same. I came here for lunch this past weekend and it was good. They were out of two beers I wanted and the bar tender had never heard of Lawnmower(common St. Arnold’s beer) but aside from that they had the basics. I can definitely see myself coming here again for a quick lunch. I wish they had outdoor seating!

Came here on a Sunday and had an amazing experience! The restaurant manager, Fadi was a great host and recommended some great dishes. The service and food exceeded our expectations and the ambience was beautiful. Definitely a great place for a low key Sunday night.

Located at Hotel Derek, I think it’s a new place. The service is good, friendly staff, very tasty food. I was there on a Sunday night and the place was empty so no atmosphere! Worth trying again but wish it was a little more lively.

Came in on a Monday around 9:30. The usual eclectic hotel guests and those out for a late night bite. I came in after hearing good recommendations of the cocktails. Which I didn’t even try. The list was two pages categorized into liquor types but we opted for champagne and wine. We sat at a table and the service was lacking to say the least. The food on the other hand– All the dishes were amazing! We had a mix of apps: bacon wrapped beets, scallop salad, roasted beet salad. If only the service was on par w the amazing food I would make this ‘bookmark’ worthy. Props to the chef and the seasonal menu. Ambiance was awesome but the awkward valet accommodations and service was uncomfortable. I understand it was a Monday late night but make your guests feel welcome at all times and not bizarre for wanting a late night nice bite to eat! Xo

I came here for an event on a Thursday evening and loved the vibe of this place. There is a huge circular bar which welcomes you right when you walk in, surrounded by a chic lounge area. Further in you find a couple of pool tables complete with blue felt, very cool! The colors and décor are great. The drinks I tasted were good, but a bit sweet. Will probably try wine next time. Definitely excited about the potential of this spot in Hotel Derek!

The food was excellent. The hangover burger was better than many burgers I have had. I’m not sure what bacon they use, but it was crispy, tasty, thick and flavorful! One of my favorite desserts is s’mores and their version of s’mores should have been my appetizer! It was delish! Well done, Chef! As for the service, it was great. Everyone was nice and friendly. It seemed like anything you asked for was normal and totally acceptable!
