Great experience! I will continue to use Jivar and his team in the future! Most other companies tried to trick me into spending more money/more services than i needed(because im a female and they thought i wouldnt know better). But, not Rise. They explained everything in detail and made sure i was comfortable witht the price and services rendered. I highly recommend Jivar and his team!

DONOTHIRETHESEGUYS. UNDERANYCIRCUMSTANCES. That’s the short version. Want the long version? Then buckle in and read on. Rise construction is run by a guy named Jamar Fodie. I was referred to this business by SERVPRO, who had come in to fix water damage to hardwood flooring in the kitchen by my less-than-domestic fiancée, who had accidentally left the sink running overnight. SERVPRO did a fine job. However, the SERVPRO franchise in Town & Country is run by a Lisa Fodie. Name sound familar? It should. I belive Jamar is her son. In any case, SERVPRO conveniently referred my remodeling to RISE Construction, which is how I ended up hiring these guys in the first place. They sent over a rep, who informed me that we were going to have to pull up ALL the hardwood flooring on the second floor. After some haggling with the insurance company, we eventually got the hardwood flooring fixed. I decided at this time to upgrade the windows on the second floor. RISE Construction sent a subcontractor, Luis Aguilar, to do the windows. My fiancée immediately disliked Luis. She read immediately that he didn’t know what he was talking about. I hired him anyway. Chaos followed, but hey, after the kitchen debacle I was not about to listen to my future wife. Karma. Luis and his crew of contactors came in. They literally smashed out all the windows on the second floor, with no regard for the broken glass which ended up everywhere. We were finding and picking up small shards of glass from inside and outside the house for several weeks. A few of the small pieces ended up in my foot(not fun). They showed a total disregard for my home. During this time, the hardwood flooring needed to be sanded and refinished. Luis and his happy band of workers solved the furniture problem by literally creating a pile of furniture on the second floor and working around it. They stacked my couches and chairs on top of my dining room table, which broke as a result and has of the date of this writing not been fixed. They damaged two of my brand new leather couches, severely scuffing the leather and even putting a large dent in the back of one of the pieces that I’m still figuring out how to repair. And then, another problem. They incorrectly measured one of the living room’s larger windows, and as a result could not install it correctly. They fixed this problem by putting in an order for a new one, and in the two weeks that followed, patched the massive hole in my wall to the outside world with an amateurish patch of duct tape and BROWNPAPERBAG. Not helpful when facing a full week of Houston rain. We were beside ourselves, having to take time off work when rain was in the forecast to towel up the rain that seeped through the bags and crept down the walls. It was an absolute nightmare. They finished in July, but were we done? Not by a longshot. Normally, I don’t leave windows open in July. Most people in Houston don’t. But in November, when we opened one of our brand new windows in the kitchen, it immediately broke along the frame and almost fell inside the house. I called Luis in NOVEMBER, he came to the house in APRIL, and informed me that the warranty on the window frame lasts for 30 days. They’re not honoring their work, my window is still broken, and here I am preparing to find another contractor. DONOTHIRETHISCOMPANYUNDERANYCIRCUMSTANCES.
