Went to drive thru just to get a waffle cone. Had to wait for the car in front of us. When I finally got my cone it was very soft(½ way melted). I asked if this is the way its supposed to be and was told thats how it was being made today. What a crock! I know they had it sitting there waiting. Didn’t look like their pictures at all. I got the waffle cone and it was not the freshest either. Then to add insult to injury, while waiting outside in the drive thru, we had to smell a backed up sewer. Disgusting. Definitly will not be returning.

Lady was really nice, ice cream was plentiful and cones were amazingly big. Love the fact it has a drive thru and around the corner from me. Only thing that costed them a 4 stars was they forgot a scoop and only had limited selection of custard. Basking Robbins outshines these guys still

Never been to this place before, I’m not even sure if it’s a chain, but this place definitely fed my appetite for ice-cream. I came in wanting something frosty and tasty and ended up getting a banana split PLUS a cheeseburger lol honestly the cheeseburger is not bad. Crinkle fries were alright, but the banana split was awesome! Definitely coming back for more and to try their other ice-cream cup flavors!

Popped in about 8pm on a Saturday night. Use your 10% off Unilocal check in bonus! They offer about 6 frozen custard flavors from almond joy to chocolate and several Italian ice flavors — lemon was our favorite but I should have tried the watermelon. The add ons are the usual suspects — coconut, cherry, chocolate chips, Snickers etc. Very friendly young gal at the counter walking us through our first time to order their custard. She offered samples of everything we wanted. They were out of plain ol’ vanilla. Hmmm… that’s unfortunate. I see from other reviews that seems to happen often. But they did have butter pecan and I got it in a malt. They have shakes and for .50 more you can add malt. I LOVE malts. I will say $ 5 for a fairly small«medium» malt was a bit steep. But it was tasty. Wife got the vanilla lite(no sugar added) vanilla and wild cherry glacier. It was packed with cherry flavor. Lots of cherry flavor. She loved it. But it was not actual fruit like at Connie’s. It was some kind of jelly or gel. I am trying not to compare this place to Connie Frozen Custard on Jones. It’s hard because Connie’s is soooo good. But many of us have had Connie’s so glaciers = concretes. But Connie’s has a creamier frozen custard taste. This really was more like ice cream. Several tables full of families and youngsters. That’s a good sign. Folks have discovered the new place on the west side. For about $ 9 we both satisfied our sweet tooth. Took home some lemon gelato and some espresso custard for later. We’ll see how that stacks up after a couple days in our freezer. Look. It’s good. It’s closer than Connie’s when I need frozen custard. But it’s NOT home made tasting or as charming as the Mom and Pop spot on Jones. This location is pretty off the beaten path. I don’t see if lasting long.

Omg so yummy! This is frozen custard and it is so creamy. I got the strawberry cheesecake and it was so good! Update: If you go I would ask what flavor custards they have for the day and get one of those. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is due to the lack of choices. The Katy location serves unique flavored custard combinations like amaretto cherry chunk. When I called this location they said they don’t make flavors like that so that kind of sucks. I wish they would get a bit more creative.

I am so happy this Ritter’s Frozen Custard location opened! While we love the original in Katy, it is just too far for us to drive to, unless we happen to be near the area. Tonight HL&JPL& I, were more than pleased with our experience! The young girl who took our order was very helpful! HL got his light vanilla custard, JPL had a vanilla custard cone and I had a vanilla custard hot fudge sundae. The taste of the custard is spot on and we all enjoyed it very much. This location has indoor seating, which is a plus in rainy weather, since the Katy location only has outdoor seating! You literally have to go sit in your car at the Katy location, if the weather is bad outside. I am always a fan of a clean facility and this new location sparkles with cleanliness! I recommend you stop and enjoy a frozen custard at this Ritter’s location.

Good desserts and better than your neighborhood DQ. But employees are unprofessional and will most likely get your orders wrong or mixed up so keep your receipts and double check your order. Other than that very delicious frozen custard. Will come back again!

The ice cream here is phenomenal. All the flavors that I can sample at Ritter’s Frozen Custard I really enjoyed and they’re unique all in their very tasty. Generous portions and good prices. The staff is super friendly, but a bit slow in service. I can’t wait to go back and start trying the other flavors.

Tried the single burgers and the custard, they are amazing! The house special sauce I guess it was called«Ritter’s sauce» it is so delicious! I requested something extra! The strawberry delight sundae was awesome, the best in Texas! I see myself as a regular frequent customer here! Must try! !!

The custard here is amazing. The food is okay, the burger wasn’t anything special just decent. But the custard(which I’m sure is the bulk of their business) gets 5 stars!

If I could give no stars I would. Save your time and money. This new place isn’t worth trying. You know if water taste better than food then the food is no good. Burger is as small as a Junior Whopper, fries were very bland, sweet tea was GROSS. I really just didn’t enjoy this place.

Ive only been through the drive through a couple of times for their glacier… custard/ice cream in a cup with the mix ins that youd want. One time they were out of vanilla… really? So the quality doesnt blow me away, but it does satisfy your frozen desert craving. Im tempted to try the food, the the staff that ive encountered doesnt seem to be on top of things. The company didnt really pick a prime location, so i only knew about it by driving by it. just a follow up review, great quick service for more the glacier. Much better taste this time as they had vanilla. I could see myself as a regular here for dessert. Still need to try other food.

I had never been to a Ritter’s before, but my experience was not like I was expecting. I arrived about 45 minutes before closing on a Sunday and there were no other customers. My friends and I were in the mood for dessert, so I recommended for them to try a concrete. At Ritters, they are called ‘glaciers’, so look for that word on the menu when ordering. I was expecting the options and menu to be similar to Connie’s(on Jones Rd.) where they have created several different concoctions for you, so you don’t have to get lucky with a few select toppings and hope it tastes good… or spend way too much on add-ins and end with up a $ 7 shake. My first order was a vanilla glacier with a few added flavors, and it turned out so horrible, I asked them to remake it. Luckily they did and the 2nd version came out edible. Their frozen custard tasted nothing like custard I’ve had elsewhere in Texas or other states. More like ice cream actually. The menu has other food and dessert items of course, if you aren’t going there for custard… which does remind me of Dairy Queen. For my money, I’d rather drive a bit further for a better tasting product.

A couple of days ago I picked up some food in the drive thru. Once I got it home and tried, I realized that the meat on the burger had been cooked way before I got it. Today I stopped in for lunch around 12:15. The girl behind the counter was very nice. I asked her to request that it was cooked fresh and she did. The cook replied«They are always cooked fresh». I then waited for 10 – 12 minutes while the dining room had 2 groups of 3 each and no cars in the drive thru. Once I got my food the fries were cold, the burger was cooked at least 30 min in advance and was so cold it didn’t even melt the cheese. I asked to speak to the manager and guess who it was. The dang guy cooking. Now I know why their parking lot is always empty. Save your money people.

Ice cream on a hot Houston day. What more could you want? Ritters. That’s what you want. I first had Ritter’s in Indiana and am happy to see it making it’s way south because we definitely need it here more. The monkey in the middle is my favorite. It’s small with the perfect amount of ice cream and delicious strawberries and bananas but doesn’t feel overloaded with sugar. If going for indulgence, my go to is the strawberry shortcake. Ask to re-layer so your cake doesn’t get too mushy

So I have now tried both the custard and this day I came for a quick bite. It was late and I typically don’t do much fast food but we needed something to eat after a long day. We got to the drive through around 8:55 and realized they closed at 9pm the drive through attendant Trey I believe was his name was awesome. We told him we were sorry that they were going to close and was it ok to order food, he said yes mam and we ordered. He explained the menu question we had in great detail and wasn’t irritated. We ordered Cheese burgers, and Fries. The fries are crinkle cut and a little chunky, not bad but not my type of fry. The burgers were oozing with cheese and a nice soft bun and seasoned heavily with salt and pepper. The meat quality wasn’t the best but it didn’t kill my stomach after like most fast food joints. I probably wont come back for food it wasn’t the worst just not memorable. Custard from my previous visit was good just not a firm texture that I like so it melted very quickly. They have over 20 flavors each day which is awesome, I will come back for sure and give the custard one more shot.

With Bluebell no where in sight of ever coming back(sad face) a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do and i headed down to Ritter’s. I got the«turtle something» custard on a chocolate dipped cone and my «ice cream date» got the banana split. both deliciously done and for less than $ 11, well worth the drive! With country music jammin in the background, we really enjoyed our treats. The service is fast.

I got the mango gelati and it was pretty good. The texture of their Italian is really smooth compared Rita’s. But their frozen custard in my opinion tastes the same. I like this place because it’s close to where I live and their portions are bigger than Rita’s. Overall ! Definitely coming back to try the other flavors

I stumbled on this little gem near westheimer and Dairy Ashford on my way home from church, and thanks to spontaneous food adventures got to try their frozen custard! So the way they advertise you can see that they emphasize on frozen desserts, including sundaes, gelati, milkshakes, and blizzards. They also have fries and burgers and hot dogs but I didn’t get a chance(or stomach space) to try it this time, maybe next time. My sister and I got a strawberry shortcake sundae and a mud sundae and both were delicious and way more than we expected it to be. We got a small, but asked to have it served in a waffle cone thinking we could each finish one, but they gave us so much that we couldn’t finish either. Don’t get me wrong, they were delicious but they give you a lot, so if you’re really craving custard and have plenty of space for its this place does not disappoint. The strawberry shortcake was surprisingly pleasant and it actually had yummy cake that I definitely wasn’t expecting. The sweetness of the cake, the tangy of the strawberries and the vanilla custard mellowed it out and tied the flavors together and a perfect harmony. The mud sundae was also really great, but we did substitute the chocolate custard for the vanilla, and I would suggest you do the same because it helps to not make it rich and sweet. The hot fudge is really good in the sundae though. The waffle cones were also really good. I was partly expecting it to be stale, but it was pretty crunchy. Maybe not the best I’ve had, but not the worst either. I enjoy the fact that they had a variety of custard flavors and Italian ices. Most places that sell custard only have your standard chocolate and vanilla. The only reason I gave this a 4 star instead of a 5 is because I felt like the custard was more like ice cream than custard. I expect my custard to be rich and creamy and the texture just wasn’t there. But it was still very good. The service was really great. The cashiers and staff were really friendly and hospitable. The price isn’t that bad. For what you pay for the ice cream, you get A Lot! I love it! I like the fact that they have their own little parking lot so there’s plenty of parking, but it does look a bit lonely all by itself. Hopefully in the upcoming year(s), the area will expand and there will be more businesses nearby. Overall, this would be a place to stop by for an cool afternoon snack after church or school or work; especially on a hot summer day!

My favorite custard place! Its Much closer than the one in Katy to my house. I love the vanilla custard mix-in with blueberry and banana. You get one free mix-in topping and then its 70 cents additional topping. I definitely want to come back and try the burgers and fries!

I came here for a little dessert night with my roommate. The frozen custard was very good. Actually, I was really surprised at how good the frozen custard tasted. Before you order, they will let you sample of the frozen custards they have for sale that day. The flavors of frozen custard change. If you come back on a different date, you’ll be able to have a different flavor. I had the pistachio flavor custard. It was perfectly sweet, creamy, and soft. Also, I really enjoyed the pistachio nuts that were embedded in the custard. That was a great touch! One thing that made me a little disappointed was that the waffle cone was too soft and it leaked my melted ice cream at the bottom. If I am craving frozen custard, I will probably be back! But, I’m not sure if I’m actually willing to try the entrees they have though. They seem pretty basic and potentially very greasy.

I never liked custard but Ritter’s has changed my mind about that. That Mud Sundae hit the spot especially on a hot summer day like this. Delicious chocolate custard with crumbled oreos. Yummy.

This location is dangerously close to my house. I used to make the hike to Katy, but now that there’s a location less than 10 minutes from my door, I’m going to be in trouble. If it weren’t for my husband having randomly driven past it a couple of weeks ago, I suspect it would’ve been a very long time before I realized it was there, so I’m hoping Unilocal will help get the word out! Just want to say a couple of things after reading other reviews… Ritter’s is known for its custard. Yes, they offer burgers and chicken strips and whatever, but custard is their thing, so I think it’s important to go there with that in mind. I’ve already been a couple of times since it opened and it’s been seamless both times. Last night, I made the mistake of showing up at 8:55, not knowing they close at 9, and the staff was so sweet and welcoming.(Sorry, y’all!) My usual is a vanilla glacier with strawberry mixed in, but they have daily-changing custard flavors, too. LEMONBASIL, can you even imagine?! I die. They also have frozen custard cakes, which I can vouch, are amazing, especially the peanut butter version. So, all in all, if you’re craving ice cream, skip the trip to Baskin Robbins and give Ritter’s a go instead.

This place just opened today(April 27th) and it wasn’t that crowded at all. I suspect that it will start getting crazy after more people realize that it has opened up. I used the drive through and there was only one person ahead of me. The guy was really friendly and helped explain everything on the menu even though I was using the drive through. :) Seemed like they are still some kinks to be worked out because my order got messed up and I could see that they were still doing some training inside. I got the vanilla(one with less sugar) glacier with oreos. Looking forward to trying some other flavors.
