River Oaks Nails

I have been going to this place for over 5 years and I can say it is the best nail shop in Houston. I am very picky, Kathy and Wendy are excellent… All three ladies are amazing and they do a great job.

There are tons of salons in Houston doing excellent work within the same price range… but…at those other salons, will a neck and shoulder massage be included with your manicure? Probably not.
River Oaks Nails gets four stars and my business for that massage!

This place did a fantastic job of my nails. I went in there a little torn about what color nails to wear with a white and blue dress for a wedding and the ladies helped me talk through ideas and even demonstrated a couple of different color options. Their English was great, I usually get blank looks from the nail salons I go to with recent Vietnamese workers, but these ladies spoke really well and had great fashion sense. I came out of there so happy with my french manicure and pedicure at really reasonable costs. They took care and also minimized the time I spent there because two ladies worked on me at the same time. I even got my eyebrows done there was very pleased with the result. Showed them a picture of what I wanted and they delivered.
Facilities: very clean, solid place and quiet
Selection of polish; great, with OPI options and Essie options
Magazines: great selection — vogue, health, etc…
Care: excellent quality

Very clean, nice and they did an amazing job on my pedi (Jennifer) and shellac (Wendy) — all in less than an hour without feeling rushed at all!!! Wendy even helped me find my perfect neutral shade of shellac (I’ve tried a lot and all seem to be horrible for my skin tone). I’m impressed and definitely will be back!

I have been going here for 4 years and remain very happy with with my French mani/​pedis. They get me in and out quickly, they always do a great job, and I repeatedly receive compliments on my nails that last an entire month. Tracy takes very good care of me!

I went here yesterday for a mani/​pedi based on the review that I read. I wonder if they reviewers meant this salon or another one with a similar name. Even though looks wise it wasnt what I thought I decided to give it a shot. Dont judge a book by its cover. (PS I had an appoinment) I was patient and once they got to me the woman took her time, I was excpecting a little more scrubbing and such for my feet though. All in all it was $ 50 bucks for a mani/​pedi with a design. Even though my tech did a great job on my hands and feet, I left wondering why they didnt off me more? I am used to getting more for less which can be a bad thing for the person offering the service. but they were no hot stones… wax dips or other things of that nature… I was thinking what if I wanted those things? baiscally you can get the same thing elsewhere… cheaper. sad fact.

This is a great place if you are in a rush. Less than an hour and you can get a mani/​pedi because 2 people work on you at the same time. The ladies are friendly, efficient and the price is right.

This is my private retreat on days when i need a little TLC and pampering! It’s so quiet in there. The chairs are new and work well, and the establishment is ultra clean. The technician took her time and did a great job on my nails.
I will definitely be back!

i’ve been to many nail salons in the montrose/​river oaks area. what distinguishes river oaks nails from the rest is that the ladies here actually seem to care about doing a good job. i didn’t pay for a hurried botched job.
sometimes you can get a mani and pedi at the same time and so you’re in and out the door in 45 mins flat. when they are busy you have to wait more patiently, but the surroundings are comfortable and there’s a tv to watch if you can’t find an interesting magazine lying around.
my favorite thing about this salon is they paint 2 top coats over your nail polish. this actually makes a huge difference by making the paint job last longer.
