Rocket Fizz

Rocket Fizz is an adorable little retro shop in Rice Village that has a beyond wide variety of candies and soda pop. And I’m not just talking about your typical root beer and orange flavors. They have bacon soda, chocolate soda, basically any flavor you can think of, Rocket Fizz has it! They also have a large selection of candies, including all the classic old-​school candies, which is great for gifts. Rocket Fizz is definitely the best store to help get your candy fix in!

Great little candy shop! Their selection of soda pop drinks and salt water taffy is fabulous! I enjoy stopping by here and grabbing a treat while walking around shopping! Great spot to take kids in! The parking is rough in this area due to a small lot and street parking is hard to snag. They also have some unique gifts, good chocolate selection as well as a wide variety of candy! Highly recommend stopping in this cute little shop to get a sweet treat!

One can definitely lose track of time roaming around Rocket Fizz. This store is full of unique candies, sodas, and snacks… ie Bacon soda, Ranch dressing soda, and salt water taffy in a variety of flavors! The items are all a little pricey but its a fun place to get some interesting finds!

Wide variety of sodas, and laffy taffy. Awesome customer service and very helpful. My nephew couldn’t decide on what root beer he wanted so got a four pack. I tried the monster mucus and it is very good. Laffy taffy is very soft and $ 6.99 for a small bag. They let you try pack the bag to the rim so you can get your money’s worth.

This is Houston’s only soda pop store, well for the time being. They have a 2^nd location in Cinco Ranch, but this was the 1^st to come to Houston. I find an excuse to come here each time I’m visiting the village since they occasionally have a root beer I haven’t tried.
They carry mostly bottled sodas (their own label and 3^rd party labeling), but also have many varieties of current and old school candies, gag gifts, chocolates and gift baskets.
If you plan to buy in bulk, you will save some money by buying 4, 6 or 12 packs, plus they have a frequent shopper card too. Buy 8 single sodas, get 1 free. Be sure to take advantage of that if you visit frequently.
For 2016, they are doing a monthly free sticker promotion, so come and get your free stickers if you collect those.

We loved Rocket Fizz! All the candy, sweets and unique finds were squeezed into this shop! Excellent place for unique gift ideas. We stocked up for Christmas!
I also love that the founder and CEO has such a huge heart, as seen on Undercover Boss. Made me want to shop there everyday!

After having a nice lunch at Sweet Paris, this shop caught our eye so we moseyed on across the street and were charmed by this ultimate pop culture store! If you are looking for a unique gift for a friend look no further! Posters from every era, I can envision decorating the ultimate game room or better yet… man cave!
Plus…if you are a soda connoisseur this is the ultimate place for sure! Every flavor imaginable is here! No kidding! And in the back for those with a sweet tooth, they have these bags you can fill with all flavors of candy… literally ALL FLAVORS! Kids seem to love this place! Kids BIG and small! ;)
It’s so much fun just checking out everything and if you love POP icons they are all well represented HERE! Everyone from ELVIS to Marilyn to John Wayne to the Beatles! Lunch boxes… mugs…book bags. You name it!
They play the best music too in their shop! HITS from the fifties and sixties, you’ll find yourself humming and singing along while you shop!
Overall consensus: A great place to look for a gift or just hang out! The staff was very friendly and attentive!

If you’re a saltwater taffy fan this is definitely a place to go, this is why I go, fill a small bag for 5.99 or a large bag for 7.99 and there’s tons of flavors from regular fruit flavors (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, etc) to my personal favorites: blueberry muffin, lemon meringue, berries and cream, cheesecake, red velvet, buttery popcorn (yes it does taste like it) I could go on and on… There’s also chocolate flavors, cinnamon roll, key lime, strawberry kiwi, which are some of my daughters favorites. I love it– I’m addicted.
They have tons of cute metal lunch boxes with super heroes, Betty hoop, frozen, and tons of misc cute gifts. There are toys and lollipops and all kinds of candy everywhere. Not lame candy, but good candy worth buying in a nice cozy shop Which has a cool vibe consistent throughout.
At the check out there are buttons and grumpy cat mints and other last minute attention grabbers that I had to bargain with my toddler to trade some of her ridiculously large candy selection for some grumpy cat mints! Lol
I recommend this place!

Fun, eclectic sodas and candies! Ridiculously overpriced but even so you will be glad you went. New York Seltzer is my favorite brand they sell.

Oh my gosh! Rustic and retro! Candies & soda pops! I have never seen so many soda pops. Over 100 different flavors! There are weird flavors: buffalo wing soda, ranch, jelly beans, bacon, and waffles soda. Rocket fizz has their own sodas as well.
I found my childhood favorite candy «Charms candy sour balls». Its so addicting! This was my drug of choice as a child. How I escaped childhood diabetes I’ll never know. I can’t even express how happy I am when I saw it.
There is a taffy wall in the back of the store that you can fill in a small bag for $ 5.99. So tempted to buy a bag. But I was so fixated on the sour balls I couldn’t buy anything else. I also saw green tea and apple pie kit kats.
I also watched the episode of undercover boss for rocket fizz. I learned alot about the company.

Super fun place to get a sugar rush or a cool little gift. I left with curry cashews, green tea Kit-​Kats and a bunch of cavities but it was worth it. They even gave me a free sticker.

Stopped in on a whim during a road trip to Houston. This place has fun coming out of its ears. It has a selection of all kinds of soda and candy which you have never seen before and may never see again. Most striking were the traditional brands, like M&M, Klondike, etc. which you are familiar with, but Rocket Fizz has variations which are not broadly stocked: Klondike mint chocolate chip patty! Birthday Cake M&Ms? After looking at each and every one of the exotic sodas, I left with Dr. Brown’s celery soda, which tasted strange but surprisingly good, «Dad’s» cream soda as a gift for said parent, and a huge smile on my face.

This store is the best way to just get away and find your inner child. They have so many different options of candies you can’t find at normal grocery stores. Their wide variety of soda pops is out of this world!

A fun place to visit and look around! They have tons of soda/​pop laying around everywhere and on the wall display. Most of the glass soda pop are not mainstream and quite unique. They have weird flavors such as buffalo wing soda or cucumber and the list goes on, but they also have regular go to flavors such as root beer, strawberry, orange, cola, lemonade, etc. I think it’s $ 2.09 per glass bottle or you can get a 4 pack for $ 7.99 or 6 pack for $ 9.99. I went ahead and did the 4 pack and was struggling to pick which 4 would make the cut! There was tons and tons of different types so it makes it that much harder to only pick 4! But after walking around and taking a look, I just picked 4 and paid. The worker/​cashier there was nice. While walking around and looking I also saw that they had tons of candy as well. The back area has a candy area where you can fill the bag up and it’s $ 5.99 I think, I could be off by a little. But they also had other separately packaged candies, I took a look and some didn’t have price tags on them and some that did… And it expensive for what it is. Gas station candy prices are quite expensive at some places, but this place… Expensive.
Realistic speaking I would not pay over $ 2 consistently for a glass of soda, but going for a look is fun here. I would stop back again with that being said. It’s an organized mess here and you should go and check it out.
P. S. Minimum for credit card is $ 3!

Interesting candy store in Houston that sells a large array of candy and soda that aren’t normally stocked at Krogers, CVS, or Wal-​Mart. I originally came here because I heard that they sold Green Tea Kit Kats (but to my disapointment they were out of stock). It did however, give me the opportunity to check this place out. If you are a soda junky or love candy, this is the place for you.
One thing I found interesting was that they sold salt water taffy. I don’t find that many other places that sell salt water taffy, especially with the variety offered here. Usually you would only find these near the pacific coast in small candy stores, mostly there as a touresty site.

I’ve traveled all over, and if you like Soda Pop this is probably the United States largest soda collection. I don’t think you could ever find a business with more sodas than this…

The walls and shelves are lined with hundreds of different soda pops, as well as chilled sodas, you can come back everyday for years and try new ones… it has ALOT of candy as well, candy candy candy!
If your hanging out in Rice Village on a hot day or cold! Stop in to Rocket Fizz, it’s pretty awesome, even if your not thirsty, grab a six pack container and fill it with 6 random soda pops!

Ok, so while This candy store is AWESOME, the candy store in Austin (big top) is better for the candy selection. But no one has topped the customer service at this store!
If you happen to be in the village and are craving some old school candy and soda pop this is your place. If you are with someone who loves candy, take them here, they will love it.
They have COMPETITIVE PRICING on their bags of candy. I think I got a 5lb bag for like 5 bucks. that’s a lot of candy. mostly taffy. I am a huge fan of trying «quirky» things and their soda pop selection was right up my alley!

Even though I’m a big kid now, I still love eating candy and drinking soda. Thankfully Rocket Fizz is here to satisfy both of my inner child cravings. They offer a wide variety domestic and international candy. I’ve yet to figure out how the candy displays are organized but the very knowledgeable staff are ready and willing to help.
There’s a $ 3 credit card limit, which is equal to 2 or so chocolate bars. So I have no issue with it. This is definitely a fun shop to browse while you’re in the Rice Village area.

One thing I’ve noticed at every single Rocket Fizz location I’ve visited: the customer service is quite spectacular. Typically, there are only one or two employees around, but they are quite informed and ready to make suggestions at the drop of a hat.
I stopped by the Rice Village location last week in search of coconut candy for a birthday present, and the lady immediately pointed out all of the coconut candies in the store. She even allowed me to sample some of them to decide which ones I wanted.
Rocket Fizz sells novelty items, so they tend to be a little pricey, but it’s always a great stop if you want to find a small gift or just treat yourself (mmm that Red Arrow Root Beer).

I am in love with this fantastic little shop. Tons of classic style sodas in glass bottles, all priced individually or by the mix-​n-​match pack. Candies from your childhood, concert posters from decades past, tin signs for nearly any collector, open stock candy by the bag… you name it, this fun treat store has it.
Go for the yummy nostalgic treats or for the fun novelty items such as bacon soda. A fun and affordable stop. Parking for all of the establishments in this area can be difficult however, so be prepared to circle for a spot.
