Totally worth the $ 5. Chill location upstairs at Rudyard’s. Enjoy a beer or two and prepare to be entertained. On this particular night, it seems like it took a few scenes for the actors to get warmed up, but once they did, I enjoyed quite a few laughs. And you know it’s a good show when you’re repeating some of the jokes a few days later to your friends. On the downside, some of the actors were difficult to hear, a combination of poor acoustics and some rather loud audience members. All in all, it’s a unique, cheap date at a really cool Houston bar.

These are some of the most laid back cool people I’ve ever met. Talented, funny, kind, and great entertainers. I LOVE their classes and I’m a big supporter. Check them out, you won’t be disappointed.

We love Rogue! Good lookin’, smart thinkin’ Rogue. Not only are they totally 100% pure fun to watch on stage but they are totally 100% pure fun to hang out with. And since they are located between our two theater cities we get to play with and visit them often! Houston, hang on to the good things.(pssst: Rogue is a Good Thing!)

Rogue kicks so much ass. I’ve seen them perform numerous times and even performed with them and it has been a blast every time. If you are in the Houston and want something fun to do, go check out Rogue Improv and you will be so much cooler than everyone else you know.

I haven’t laughed quite this hard in a long time. These guys are all extremely experienced performers and have some major credit to their names. I ended up enjoying it so much that I took the class they offered, and it is absolutely phenomenal. They perform every Thursday at Rudyard’s British Pub, and the last Thursday of the month is usually an open mic/jam session held at AvantGarden. Again, if you want some of the best comedy this city has to offer, go check out an improv show at Rogue.

VERY funny! We didn’t know what we were going to, we just took a chance and it was hilarious! We’ve been to famous comedy shows(that cost a lot more) that weren’t as funny as this was. The location we went to was Rudyard’s instead of Avant Garden, and it was a perfect setup. It’s an awesome place to bring a group of people. Also, they don’t pick on the audience like some comedy acts do, I know that bothers some people. We will be back for sure and we recommend this show to everyone!

5 bucks for a couple of hours of entertainment(which really just helps to pay for the space rental apparently) sounds like a good deal to me! In this day and age, 5 bucks doesn’t get you much, but it will surely get you quite a few laughs, cackles, and maybe a couple ROTFLs after you attend Rogue Improv Comedy and their weekly performances at Avant Garden. I can’t tell you what to expect because well… duh, it’s IMPROV… which is short for IMPROVISATON. The location(Avant Garden) is pretty snazzy actually too and has tons of character, as well as super cheap drinks so I can’t argue with that offering. There is some parking in the private lot although it can get sort of tight in there and there is plenty of street parking. Just be sure to watch the parking signs. When you meander through the Garden, be sure to keep going inside and head up the creaky stairs to a room full of seating, a small stage, and plenty of comedic humor. Wait, before you head upstairs, be sure to grab a drink or two from the bartender. You’ll be glad you did and I think they had $ 2 pints the night we went. Once upstairs grab a seat, laugh, enjoy, and then repeat. So, in Houston we have this comedic troupe performing in a local space that offers regular laughs, cheap drinks, and insight to local aspiring actors/comedians. Support local.

One of the only places to see long-form improv in Houston! This group performs upstairs at the bar/performance space Avant Garden every week, and it’s a lot of fun. The space itself is quirky and bohemian, but if you can get past the odd sculpture or two then you’ll find a really great show for the incredible price of just 5 bucks! I went with friends a few weeks ago and had a blast! Also, the bar had some good specials for a Thursday night in that area. Do yourself a favor, and check out some local performers just having fun and making people laugh… you and your friends won’t regret it!
