Roma’s Pizza

Feel the need to add that I was completely sober haha came her for lunch while between classes at UHD. It’s about a 5 minute walk from campus and the staff was quick and courteous. The pizza was NY style with a thin, crispy crust. Very good overall, would recommend.

Perfect pizza after you’ve had a few drinks & have been dancing all night! The pizza was cheesy, hot & just what I needed. They offer more dishes then pizza so feel free to get some salad, fries, pasta or desert!
Order at the counter, pay there & eat, simple to the point.
The staff were very friendly & attentive. The restaurant was clean & had plenty of room to sit. It’s well located & is high traffic after 2:00am but they get everyone settled even though some people are rude.
Order a whole pie or by the slice, you won’t leave hungry!

I got the Gyro Pizza… it actually comes as a whole pizza but I asked if they could make me just 1 slice and they did and it was awesome! I’m actually not sure what everybody else got, but I know that it was gone within a few minutes… err…more like seconds lol. I’m not a pizza gal, but they did a great job.
The place doesn’t have a lot of seating, but what else can you expect in downtown. However, the interior and bathrooms were well kept. I would definitely return when I’m in the area next!

Great price and good pizza if your around Minute Maid or downtown for a game or event.

Tried this place 2x in 2 days back to back. First time was at 2:30am after bar hopping. Second time was the day after at 10:00pm after picking up a lost ID. Ha!
Pizzas can be ordered as a whole or by the slice. I got a slice of the margherita pizza. After a late night out, the ooey gooey cheesy warmth tastes like the best thing on earth. But even without the drinking, the pizza is better than most joints. The crust is thin and crispy, there is a lot of cheese, and the toppings taste fresh. Its not an artisanal pizza, but its a lot better than the ones sold out of that truck parked by House of Blues!
The staff was super nice during both visits. They get an extra thumbs up for saving lots of lost IDs.
Bottom Line: 5 stars after drinking, 4 stars for food all other times, and 4 stars for staff

I’m not gonna lie. We only bought pizza, salad and drinks here because we all needed to use the restroom before court and you can’t use the restroom in downtown Houston without buying something.
We all ordered three slices of pepperoni pizza, three drinks and a Greek salad. The pepperoni pizza was basically tasteless before we added the red peppers and Parmesan cheese. I kid you not, I have had better pizza at Papa John’s. At $ 2.50 a piece, I was expecting a bit more. Something authentic and tasty. (I’ve had the pizza they eat in Chicago and this isn’t even close). I’m not saying that I’d rather eat Little Caesar’s than eat Roma’s Pizza, but I’d eat Papa John’s before coming here again.
Your choices are kind of limited when you park in the parking garage and walk to the Family Court building but I’d suggest eating before you come downtown and for the love of God, bring cash with you! Skip Roma’s. The two men working behind the counter were rude and the food wasn’t worth the price tag.

Price is nice but sauce could be better and crust could be crispier. Oh for NYers, they have granulated garlic.

Roma’s Pizza is a small pizzeria tucked on the corner of Congress and Main st. The pizzas are already made, so if you want a quick slice then you’ll get a reheated one. Don’t let this push you away though, the portion sizes and the taste make up for it. Cheese is gooey, crust is delicious. Service is friendly and quick. By far one of my favorites in downtown.

If this place had a slightly thinner and more crisp slice, this would be NY pizza. Very few places in Houston serve by the slice, finally found this place that does. Only a few steps from rail and open late. Gets from me.

I am really disappointed in the new management. They charge extra for every little thing and they are unyieldng. I used to be able to get a free to go cup with my orders but not any more. Menu prices are also not consistant. They are rude. I also really hate how no one uses gloves for the food prep. Disgusting. I can’t continue eating here.

Conveniently close to nightingale, bad news bar, bovine and barley, etc. Good place for a bite to eat after bar hopping in downtown. Serves pizza by the slice. Equally as good as Franks and quick service.

This seems to be the real deal. Italian all the way. The pizza is right on target and made fresh all day. Order by the slice or the whole pie. Have a tv to watch the soccer games.

I ate here the other night after boozing it up downtown. The place has a lively atmosphere and it definitely gets a lot of late night business. The pizza itself was petty good, definitely not something I’d crave or drive out of my way to get, but it is convenient and fast!
The service was awesome and the slices are decently priced!

So, while it’s not the worst pizza in the world it’s certainly not the best. But late night + downtown + after-​Rodeo munchies dictate you needed something close to your metro rail stop that is fast and hot. This place hit the spot.
It’s your average, downtown, corner pizza-​by-​the-​slice joint with really good service and relatively decent prices. They were open late and the pizza look fresh and hot.
But looks can be deceiving.
The pizzas, even fresh out of the oven, had very little flavor (we tried three different slices: cheese, supreme, and also a meat pizza), not to mention the crusts were soggy. Dare I say: limp. This indicates that the oven used doesn’t cook them at high-​enough temperatures to crisp the crust properly plus cook the ingredients. That, or the toppings are too wet when they go on. Honestly, it was too late to try to figure it out. Too bad because they looked so delicious.
One other thing about the pizzas is that the dough didn’t seem to have very much salt to it. I know, I know, Americans should cut back on salt, but you don’t want to eat a crust that only tastes like flour and water. Liberally using the saltshaker and the shredded Parmesan cheese in the little glass shaker greatly increased the taste of the pizzas.
But again you have to put this all in context.
They were open late, the joint was clean, the pizza was hot and fresh, the service was friendly, gracious and fast, and the beer was cold. Combine that with the location that was right at the metro stop (Preston and Main) – we were able to have a great late-​night pizza snack, watch some Law and Order on the telly, get a bit of Houston nightlife people watching, and be on our way within the hour.
Not a bad proposition at all.
PS: I’m conflicted about giving them only three stars. I feel they deserve more because the people that work there were so service-​oriented, friendly and warm. Every one of the servers and even one of the pizza makers came over and spoke to us. The only reason it’s three stars is because of the lackluster pizza which wasn’t bad, but wasn’t great.

Nice cool place to get a slice of pizza sometimes a beer on happy hour if not they could be a little pricey. The slices look like they have been out all day and if you don’t say something about it they will just heat those up for you.

Fast, inexpensive (by the slice), and ooey-​gooey-​cheese.
If you’re looking for a nearby pizza place with fast and friendly service and serves a tasty slice of pie this would be the place to visit. The pizza is NY-​style as you need to fold the slice to eat otherwise you’ll have cheese/​toppings dripping all over the place. They serve a wide range of pizzas which can include toppings like artichoke & olives to more classics like pepperoni or supreme (which you can get by-​the-​slice). The sauce is good and toppings are even better, and did I forget to mention the delicious dripping cheese, it’s a good thing. They also serve hot sandwiches, pastas, and gyros which all looked pretty good and the place even has a bar area! Overall, the place is definitely worth the visit if you’re in the area hankering for a good slice of pizza. Prices range around $ 3 a slice, $ 10 – 15 for a whole pizza, and other entrees are about $ 10.

Good, solid pizza. And this wasn’t because I was drunk, either.
After the bars and clubs close at 2pm, you can stagger your way over to Roma’s Pizza on main street to cure your late night munchies, where they are open till 3pm.
They’re cranking out the pizza, made to order (unless you get a slice of your regular pepperoni or cheese), and boy is the pizza a god send. Cheesy, melty, just enough tomato sauce so that it isn’t overpowering. We got a Greek pizza and it was really good. The cheese does that thing where you bite it and there is this string of cheese that follows…
The guys working there are always really nice and helpful and the place is always bright and clean.

Just a short walk from UHD. It’s pretty good pizza and you can just stop in and get a quick slice.
The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is clean.
Prices are very fair and service is quick.
