Room Store

I dropped in because they are going out of business and advertized to have incredible deals… All I can say is that I know why they are going out of business, its because their furniture is so expensive.

This room store is supposedly goes out of business for years. The ‘supplemental’ items make this place quite hard to go bankrupt. The place is giant and quite dusty in the back and nothing seemed that great of a deal.

4÷25÷10: Five-​piece living room set purchased; five-​piece dinette purchased.
⁵⁄₁₃: Five-​piece living room set delivered successfully; five-​piece dinette delivered *unsuccessfully.* They sent me 4 dining room chairs in four different colors. Ick. Who would order that? Delivery guy tells me, «Well, I can take them back or you can return them yourself.» Yes, *please* leave them here so that my 5’2″ self can schlep them up on the roof of my car and return them on my own time. Pfff. Nice try, bub.
5÷19÷10: Correct chairs delivered.
That’s a lot of waiting around, a lot of rescheduling to make sure I’m home to wait around for the second delivery … and a $ 149.99 delivery charge on $ 3K total purchase? That’s redic.
Here’s the scoop on this place. It’s huge. The front of the place is more like a warehouse, but as you stroll to the back, it’s more of a show room. Jaire Q is right about the sales-​people not being pushy. They definitely kept their distance until I asked for assistance.
Prices are pretty much set. Always wait for a promo since that’s the only time you can work in a deal — that everyone else gets. Not much negotiation skills needed.
Don’t go in a hurry. With discounts here and there — adding and subtracting pieces — the math takes these sales people a while. I *highly* encourage they switch to using an Excel spreadsheet to give out these prices. My sales rep had to keep scratching numbers over a scrap piece of paper and it was really annoying, time-​consuming and confusing. Reason being is that during this promo, the more pieces I bought, the higher discount bracket I was bumped into. Seriously, keep up with the times and invest in a more tech-​savvy system of handing out price quotes.
I also didn’t like that the first day I was there, I filled out this form with my personal information. Next day when I went back, I had to fill it out again because the guy flat out told me that he accidentally took my paper home in his jacket pocket. Uh, could’ve been an honest mistake,
but that makes me really uncomfortable knowing that my info is at some dude’s house.
Pluses are that I like my furniture; the Master Seal furniture scotch guard protection plan ain’t so bad. Don’t forget to ask them about that, but do keep in mind that any discounts don’t apply to this package purchase.

I am one of those people who prefers for sales people to keep their distance until I request their attention. I like to browse the isles without anyone telling me what to look at, where it was made, what it is made of and so on. I really like this store and the reasons are that their furniture is indeed good quality and the that the sales people are not pushy and let you breath!
My mom purchased a bedroom set about 2 years ago and paid premium price for it. The bedroom set is gorgeous and the wood has not one scratch on it yet! It’s funny that my mom takes such little space on her California King bed! She looks like a little person on it! Lucky for me, I get to nap on it when I come visit and it is so comfortable! My brother and I just went in on Saturday because he needed a bedroom set as well. We went in, the saleswoman (Dolores I think) was very nice and helpful. He saw something he liked but we continued to look around other stores. After seeing the lack of good quality furniture out there we went to the Woodlands location and purchased it there. If you are looking for quality… then check them first!
Price may not be the lowest, but you are definitely getting your money’s worth and great service. The sales people are very friendly and told us about their on going promotions as soon as we showed interest in buying. No complaints here!

Even though this place is huge, bigger does not necessarily mean better.
There were very few customers at the time of our visit, and those that were there were roaming the aisle with no help from any of the associates. We were there a good 10 minutes before someone approached us, come on RoomStore a little effort would be nice!
They have the usual, dining tables and chairs, sofas and love seats, headboards and dressers, but they did have a large clearance/​bargain section at the back of the store. These were being sold as is and final sales. Even though the selection was great, the prices weren’t. The discounts seemed to be minimal, and had discounts of about 10−15% off original prices. Meh.
The store could also use a bit of organizing, there was random bits of furniture here and there, which did not add to my furniture buying experience.
Overall, this place is not as different as the regular run of the mill RoomStore found nationwide. This place is definitely not worth a visit. What in the WORLD was I thinking visiting RoomStore WORLD?!?
