There are so many things I love about Dr Rowland, it’s hard to list them all. 1) Dr Rowland has an awesome manner. She’s friendly and calming no matter how loudly your child is screaming, and she also takes the time to ask after mommy’s health too. How is breastfeeding going, are you taking care of yourself? 2) The office in which she practices understands that newborns are delicate creatures, so if you have one, they usher you into the reception area away from the general waiting area where all the germs are. 3) Dr Rowland does not freak out about jaundice. She explains to you that breastfed babies tend be a little more jaundiced for longer, and that if your baby is still a little yellow up to six weeks later, it is not cause for alarm nor is it a sign that your baby isn’t eating enough like some other doctors will tell you. 4) Dr Rowland practices in an office that returns your calls, no matter how trivial. And when you are flipping out about high fever, strange poop or an intermittently-cries-inconsolably-for-no-reason toddler, the nurses on staff will talk you down from the ledge, or allow you to come in for a work-in if it sounds necessary. 5) Dr Rowland remembers everything about you and your family. I don’t care if she writes notes to herself on your chart to remind herself before she sees you. She makes you and your children feel special, and that is what a great pediatrician should do. I am so happy with Dr Rowland that I might not move to the burbs for fear of having to find a new pediatrician. I have recommended her to my sister who has three kids, and I would continue to recommend her to anyone needing in search of the perfect doctor for their kids.
