Excellent lunch. I love that they have a different daily lunch special. The special was a great size for lunch and exceedingly good. Very happy. Highly recommended.

I am rating this place average. I have been there couple of times and the sushi is average. I was unhappy with one of the food items and complained to the manager… he seemed indifferent and did little to address our concerns. I think there are better options for sushi.

Pretty bad sushi. I would not be coming here. Triple something used not fresh wrapped in cucumber slices. Texmex was cream cheese and burned jalapeño. Not good overall and hence 1 star and lost customer. Sake was the only good part haha

Outstanding food, drinks and service! The bartenders are amazing. Hosted my 30th birthday and had an absolutely amazing time! Must try! You will not be disappointed!

The prices keep going up and the food and service are going down. I heard they are remodeling the place soon, so maybe the owner is jacking up the prices and skimping on the portions to cover her costs. Had the salmon, which was small and nothing to brag about. Started with the sea bass appetizer, which was half the size it used to be… and more expensive than it used to be! Overall, very disappointing. The service wasn’t great — and it really should be for what we paid! On top of all of it, we were talking with another customer, who said that his car has been hit twice in the parking lot because the parking is just bad. For better food, service and experience, I will head back to Uptown Sushi.

Favorite sushi restaurant in Houston, bar none. Highly recommend the sage roll and the spicy edamame.

I went to sage 400 on a whim at the last minute because we wanted to eat sushi close to the galleria. This restaurant turned out to be a great experience! We ordered three rolls: volcano, surf n turf, and texmex and they were all delicious. I highly recommend this sushi place if you’re in that area. I liked it way more than uptown sushi

Not a fan of Seabass but everyone said its the best… And wow. The first thing you will notice is the size, like a meaty 10oz ribeye of seafood goodness. Then the taste– buttery, soft, with a slightly sweet aftertaste. Get the entrée size, with asparagus, rice and a bowl of soup or salad.

Hands down highest quality sushi restaurant in Houston. I have been here 3 times now and have tried as much as I can on the menu. Every item is world class. Wonderful staff, great ambiance, and once again, the food is INCREDIBLE. Unmatched restaurant truly deserving of a 5 star rating.

The one star I am willing to allocate to this place is because of the food. So let me begin with this positive point. The sashimi(albeit way overpriced), was absolutely delicious, and the rainbow roll is divine. Very fresh fish, and well made rolls. The california roll was mediocre, and the rest of the food, decent. The service however, left a lot to be desired. I ate here for my 25th birthday with a party of 5. We were first greeted by an unsmiling, unfriendly host, who seated us at the bar to wait. Here I had a badly-made, only half-filled cosmopolitan, and one of the other guests in my party had a glass of chardonnay(also less than half-full!) for $ 13! Ridiculous. Once at the table, they did not bring enough of the sushi menus, and treated us with an arrogant air of disapproval when we made it clear that we wished to see more of the sushi menus. We ordered out food, and this was promptly served. As mentioned before, the food was quite good, and this is probably the saving grace of this place. Our waiter, was not friendly however, and started clearing our plates the second we were done with them, and others were still eating– quite tacky for a restaurant masquerading as a classy place. Furthermore, when the bill arrived, the waiter had presumptuously added a 20% gratuity(even though they said they only do this from 6 or more people). When asked about this policy, the waiter meekly apologized, changed the check, and literally threw the new bill on the table and walked away. Throughout the dinner, no effort was made by the waiter to connect with us, and there was no orientation for service whatsoever. Adding this to the fact that the bathrooms look like they hosted a drunk-urination contest, I think I can say with the utmost confidence that I will never be eating here again.

We have been in town just over a fortnight and dined out every night so far in the Galleria area, this is by far the nicest restaurant in times of food quality, service and ambience of them all. Excellent service, followed by some lovely wine and very well prepared dinner. The ambulance was calm yet elegant with beautiful mood lighting. Every dish that I observed both our own and others sitting nearby all looked immaculate. We ordered the: Pork belly confit Roast veg salad Miso soups Pepper seared tuna Wine It is on the pricey side, although this is up there for good quality food in Houston — so well worth it :)

Love love love their miso glazed seabass! It is a must get item! I crave for it all the time and it is consistently great!!! Also their peppercorn tuna. Their others rolls and sashimis are decent. Great atmosphere to chill with friends. Make sure you ask for fresh wasabi! It’ll cost extra but its worth it!

I came here with some coworkers the other day for lunch and the service was wonderful! The food is good and sushi is fresh, however the price is over rated. Pork Belly Confit(5⁄5) mushroom, quail egg, fried rice cake, and thin slices of perfectly cooked pork belly. ALLMYFAVORITETHINGSINONE. Miso Chilean Seabass(4⁄5) I had this at peska seafood and I must say that sage does it much better. The Seabass is fluffy and glazed with sweetness, portion size is tapas style. Spicy Salmon roll modified with jalapeños and crunchies(5⁄5) Before I try the exotic rolls, I test out the basic rolls first every time I come to a sushi restaurant I never been too. They pass :) They perfect at making spicy chopped scallop as well. Not many sushi restaurants know how to do that.(4⁄5) Although I don’t agree with the pricing, I will definitely come back to try other items on the menu. Last note, request for Sang to serve you!

This place has great service. I was immediately seated and serviced. The foods came out rather quick and are of top quality. Everything was great from the appetizers to the entrees. I had the chicken skewer, some sushi rolls, and the lamb chop. And honestly I was expecting the price to be much higher than it actually was so that was a win. I wouldn’t mind coming back.

Ever feel like a fly on the wall and never get noticed. Took about 12 minutes of sitting at bar area before I was asked for service and it just happened to be the female owner or manager(who genuinely apologized and stated that this was totally unacceptable). After finally feel like I was part of the human race, my waitress/bartender forgot about my tiger eye roll after going over my order with her twice. After my meal, my meal I reminded her about it. It just happened to be waiting for her to pick it up after all this timeWrite it down if you can’t remember, we are all human for God’s sake. Bar area was 70% full and their service was definitely mediocre.

A terrific experience from the moment we walked in the door. We were promptly greeted and sat, then greeted by Thomas – our server for the night. We ordered some hot sake and Thomas suggested the carpaccio, a delicious appetizer. We followed that with«traditional» sake bombs(Kanpai!!), see pic, and then two delicious rolls – the SP and the Scorpion. I’m hungry again just writing this review!

I came here late on a weeknight and this place was pretty busy. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised with all of the out of town visitors looking for a fancy sushi restaurant to visit near the galleria. Although this wouldn’t have initially been my first choice, I’m now glad I came to see the type of atmosphere and how good the food was here. We ordered escolar and mackerel nigiri, Hamachi carpaccio and soft shell crab tempura as appetizer, and the Sage and Ruby rolls. The Hamachi is truly thin sliced as the menu indicates and is a great appetizer. The soft shell crab was average sized and fairly priced for a fancy establishment such as this. The weakest items I tried were the nigiri, they didn’t wow me by any means. Both rolls were very flavorful since they had so many fish and sauces to go with them. Both were a little spicy too which made me like them even more. I’d definitely come back, to try the much regarded sea bass and their happy hour.

I went here one time for lunch with a friend who suggested it. When you walk in they have a small bar with a seating area. The ambience is really nice. They had the lights dimmed, you wouldnt even think its day time. I felt different, i personally liked that. Foodwise(DUH), it was lacking. I ordered off the lunch menu. I got the Sage 400 Salad, it came Served with soup. The salad had diced fresh salmon sashimi, avocado with honey wasabi mayo dressing served in a rice paper bowl embedded with mixed greens. Problem with it was that the portion was SO small. I was STARVING after i finished it. Note it was a $ 16 salad. Service wise it wasnt that great. In fact, I felt that the server was a little rude when I asked questions about the ingredients in the salad, oh and for more water. Jeez. Ive definanelty experinced better.
