Salon Vive

Salon Vive is a quaint boutique on the corner of Woodhead and Memorial– at least from it’s exterior appearance. Inside, it feels like a bohemian color bar fully staffed with specialists for every hair need imaginable. The work stations are chic and simple, and the studio well art directed.
I was booked for a cut and style with Paul. He greeted me immediately upon walking in, and assessed the situation. My hair was fried at the ends, with the luckiest natural ‘ombré’. I stated my case, as one does when embarrassed of lack of attention to their hair, that I needed a trim but wanted to keep length, and color only if necessary. Paul really listened, and on top of that, agreed to not color! He suggested a treatment prior to the cut, and introduced me to Bobby.
Bobby, with gorgeous hair like Fabio’s except a more up-​to-​date style, was extremely knowledgeable and caring about treatments. While that’s important, he also cared about getting to know me, building great rapport with me and others, and having a good time while at work. I can’t imagine coming back for only a cut now, not only because my hair feels amazing (more on this soon) but because I want an excuse to have his great vibes in my life!
After my treatment, Paul snipped and snipped away at my useless ends, and gave me a simple layered look that will continue to look great as it grows. Which is exactly what I wanted! I couldn’t be more pleased! He even gave me tips on how to style it– in ways a layman could actually accomplish!
My hair looks beautiful, healthy, styled and not over the top– I’m actually eager to come back and treat myself for my next trim and treatment!

PAUL was awesome, sweet, funny, and VERY good at coloring. The receptionist mentioned he was newer to cutting hair but he totally understood what I wanted and gave me exactly what I showed him with a picture. I almost wish she didn’t say that, it didn’t need to be said– I was super happy with my results and I was a walk in! I got so lucky, as most of us know walking into a salon is dangerous but Paul was the perfect solution to my hair problems.
I came in with faded, dry, over-​dyed red hair and he took me to a deep brunette with ease. Not only that, he styled it exactly like the picture I showed him.
Super great guy, get to know him! Highly recommend! And the salon was reasonable pricing (considering the robbery most salons get away with these days). It was $ 160 for cut and color, and style (no highlights). I hate spending that much but I know this will last a while and it was very well done.
Receptionist was very friendly and talkative, she gave me free samples to take home!

I called for an appointment last minute and in a pinch — not only did Paul take me just before closing time for a haircut, he also spent the extra time coloring my hair! I was unsure of the exact color I was looking for and having a hard time describing it, but it was as if Paul could read my mind — he knew exactly what I wanted and really delivered. He was super professional, gave me tips I had never learned before and was very sweet. The staff stayed around until I was finished and was very accommodating the entire time. Could not be more pleased with their service, I will definitely be back!

Kat did an amazing job with my difficult semi-​curly/​wavy hair. I usually straighten it because it has to be cut right for the curl to work. Kat took the time to find out what I wanted and to show me what products to use and how to do it myself. Everyone at the salon was friendly and made it a great first experience. I will definitely be back again!

Scott did such a great job on my hair the other day! He’s so good I followed him from the last salon he worked at. From the moment I walked into Salon Vive the experience was great! The man behind the front desk was so nice and accommodating and let me know about all of their promotions. Everyone was very personable and friendly at Salon Vive. I walked out with a new haircut and felt like a new woman!

I recently moved and was looking for a new salon. After a few not so good experiences, Unilocal led me here. And I am so glad it did. Salon vive offers great service, atmosphere, and products. Stephanie did my Brazilian blowout and haircut and took her time to do it the correct way so my results would last. She was so nice and knew exactly what I wanted! The whole staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and I will definitely be back.

Kat Flores is great. Kat has been doing my hair for 2 years now and I just love my curls now. I am in awe of the ouidad hair cut she gives me to tame my curly frizzy crazy hair into beautiful bouncy soft curls. The best part about the ouidad hair cut is how well the hair grows out after the cut. The curls remain perfect and in shape even after 4 – 5 months after the cut. I am the kind of person who does not like to spend too much time on my hair in the mornings. With this cut, I fix my hair in a jiffy and am out in no time. Thank you Kat, for introducing me to the ouidad cut and also teaching me the best way to manage my curls.

Everyone is very hospitable and welcoming. Kat did a brilliant job cutting my hair and matched it to the picture I brought but in a way that better complemented my texture.

Was looking for a new hair salon since my lady is on medical leave. Found this hip salon and decided to call them for availability. The second they answered the phone I knew I wanted to go there! He was super nice and helpful. He was able to get me in the same day. He recommended Marily. I’m very picky with my hair; I have thick, layered, long hair… Omg! Totally loved her! She knew exactly how I wanted my hair and was super quick! Also, the hair wash was ammmaaazing!!! This is definitely my new place! Super sweet staff!!!

Went in yesterday with curly frizzy streaked hair, but came out with loose curls, smooth, and beautiful even highlights. Jacquie Segura and her team of Tabitha took their time to transform my hairdo. Great job!

Nettie is a wonderful hair stylist (just look at how beautiful her own hair is!). She did an awesome job for my bob style, very clean, simple, yet fashionable and sleek. She is also a great person to talk to while getting your hair done. I would recommend anyone to request Nettie at Salon Vive.

Punch front and a little to the right off the corner Memorial/​Westcott office building, you’ll find a modern and clean salon. Through several recommendations from different circles, i’m told to ask for none other than Nettie.
Walking in, I’m offered something to drank followed by a robe smock thing to keep the hair off your clothes. Wash Scrub Wash Rinse. i’m walked over to the station where Nettie asks you questions with stories. Question part is what do you want. and the story part is i’d like it clean cut while avoiding the crazy palm tree attack I experience from the sudden Houston humidity jumps. More questions come .she styles … lots of waives with her magic scissors and i’m styled. Recommended and would go back again.

Wow! Ive had my hair done from Miami to Los Angeles, and this place rocks. When you walk in you cant help but to notice the modern elegance you expect to see from an upscale salon anywhere. They immediately acknowledge you with a warm welcome, my stylist Nettie was warm, hot least to say and very knowledgable who listen to what i wanted and brought in her own style and perspective customized to my own style. Im hooked and so glad i have a Salon here in Houston that can rival any!
