Victor is from the old-​school, and you cannot find any better. Sadly, you rarely run across people running businesses like he does, but when you do, count yourself lucky and stay with them. Victor did lots of extremely attractive (there are some cool choices that are far from bodega-​looking) security bars and a massive gate for my house 13 years ago, and they have proven to be well worth it. They add a lot of visual interest, plus no one ever managed to break in over all the years when I was here only part-​time– very noteworthy in my part of Houston.
Naturally, a house will settle and shift over so many years, so when I had to call this week to have the lock adjusted (for the first time ever, I should add), he did the job on a Saturday and refused all payment. It was tough and noisy work-​not something you give away– but my gates work perfectly again. His colleague Herman even picked up my meddling 3 year old boy to keep him away from investigating the metal shards.
When he does charge, however, the cost is utterly reasonable. If you call and think it might be a while before they get to you, don’t worry-​they actually will. (I am always concerned about this because I’ve experienced lots of flakes or people who take on too much and don’t finish well when they do get around to it.) Just get on Victor’s schedule and don’t mess with looking anywhere else. There is no nonsense or headache with this company.

Just cannot say enough good about Victor and Samson Iron Works. Would give them 10 stars if possible.

We called Samson Iron Works and others after our house was burglarized; burglars came in through unprotected ground floor window. Don’t be lulled into thinking an alarm system is enough!
Victor came to visit and explained our options to us. He patiently explained the pros and cons of each option. It was clear that what Victor wanted was the best option for us and NOT the most money for himself. The other burglar bar people we talked to wanted to toss in lots of expensive options that did not add to security or functionality but that did provide them more revenue. Victor’s cost estimate was ¹⁄₇^th of other quotes. Not kidding; ¹⁄₇^th!
Victor also provided us a lot of other common sense suggestions regarding burglar proofing our home. All of his suggestions were very sound advice and we will implement them.
Victor and his team prebuilt and painted our burglar bars in his shop after taking careful measurements. On installation day, the burglar bars were installed with a minimum of muss and fuss. One hour later and for what I consider to be a VERY low price, we have burglar bars on all of our ground floor windows.
Wish we had done this years and years ago. We could have prevented our home being burgled if we had thought ahead. We foolishly believed that an alarm system would deter burglars. We lost a lifetime of accumulated jewelry and other valued possessions that cannot be replaced.
Victor is the most personable and most honest small business person I’ve ever met.
Plus, he hires and trains US Veterans as apprentices. How can you not like that?

After an unfortunate incident I was in need of some extra security at home. I called Samson Iron Works. They came onsite and made recommendations for not only their work but for additional security. I went with both. They fabricated the bars and fence I added. The installation was easy and everyone was friendly. I called during a very busy time so a little extra communication was needed but they were good about calling back.

These guys have given us excellent service and a beautiful product! We got burglar bars from them and the scrolls are really pretty on the gates. Their price was really good, the people are nice and friendly. We would highly recommend Samson iron works.
