I purchased a 90 minute massage on Groupon and called to schedule my appointment, and it took two weeks for her to fit me in. I got a confirmation phone call the day before, and was told their cancellation policy was a 24 hour notice or you’re responsible for the cost of the massage. This is pretty typical of this industry and the conformation call was within 24 hours, so all was fine. She then informed me to bring cash«if you like to tip», which seemed very forward. My massage was scheduled for 2:30 last Friday. I received a phone call at 1:30 asking to reschedule my appointment(an hour before). I guess it would have been less of an issue if it hadn’t already taken 2 weeks to get an appointment, and I had taken the day off in order to make the appointment. I chose to cut my loses, and contact Groupon for a refund. The professionalism is seriously lacking at this business.

I had booked an appointment for 1:45pm and arrived by 1:39pm. There was no one in the waiting area so I sat down and started filling out my form. 1:45pm came and went and by 2pm I was a little irked that no one was there. I even tried to call the number and the phone just rang in the lobby I was waiting in. A man emerged from the room and masseuse came behind him and mumbled ‘how are you?’ I replied I’m well and waited. She then went to check the man out and went back to sanitize the room. I asked where the restroom was as I had booked a 90 minute massage and didn’t want to have to use the facilities mid-way through my massage. She walked over to the door and pointed out(to the restroom). After using the restroom(in this rather dilapidated building) I went back to Suite 100. The masseuse asked how long my massage was to which I replied 90 minutes. She looked like she was upset and had been crying, so I asked«are you okay? do you have allergies?’ To where she replied«sorry about this(referring to her state).» I asked if she wanted to reschedule the appointment, as I really didn’t mind coming back another time, and she just shook her head. She continued to sniffle and looked visibly upset. From there everything went from bad to worse. The massage was really sloppy and the room was freezing. She didn’t ask me anything. Not if I wanted anything to drink, if the pressure was okay, if the room temp was okay. Nothing at all. She sniffled and blew loudly into a tissue several times during the massage as well as took several gulps of water. And when I say GULPS, I mean they were LOUD. The Pandora music playing with advertisements of Luke BBQ and wings were not at all relaxing. 30 minutes into the massage she excused herself for 10 minutes(I guess to cry some more or use her cell phone). At this point I really wanted to get up and leave. I was so uncomfortable. She came back and I again asked if she was okay and would like to reschedule, to which she mumbled something that was incoherent. There was NOTHING at all relaxing about this massage. It was the most awkward and worst massage I have ever had in my life and I’ve had over 100+ massage. I feel bad for the masseuse but you really should not conduct business if you are crying and upset, it just makes it awkward for everyone all around. I tipped her $ 5 and even that was more than she deserved. The massage was barely 60 minutes long and so awkward. Healing Sanctuary more like«Let’s Make you feel super duper uncomfortable and unrelaxed sanctuary.»
