This shop has an incredible selection of spices and seasonings. Best part is you can buy as little as one of at a time. Prices are reasonable and they have a huge selection. Becoming skillful in the kitchen means learning to work w/spices-and this is the place to find them. My favorite find: Saigon Cinnamon-and it’s organic.

I have a patient that has been telling me about the spice shop her daughter owns in the Rice Village for some time. Yesterday she brought me bottle of Capital Hill seasoning along with a recipe for Capital Hill Salad Dressing. I made the dressing last night and it was the best I have ever had. Since it has the shallots and chives in it I tried it on my baked potato atop the sour cream. This was equally as delicious. I know this bottle is going to go fast. Thank you Norma. I can’t wait to go shopping there myself!

I impulsively stopped in this very unassuming little spice shop, half expecting it to be overpriced and stuffy, but that wasn’t the case at all! They have a lot of fresh and unique spices, seasonings, and flavored powders. I was very pleasantly surprised.

Nice attention to detail. Great customer service. They hace different samples you can smell. Prices were very good considering this place is located in Rice Village.

We were waiting for our table at Le Peep and decided to check out this cute little spice shop across the street. I guess I’ve been into the spice kick lately because I have visited this store, Penzy’s and Vom Fass all within the last 2 weeks. Which makes it really hard to write this review without comparing them. The store is smaller than Penzy’s but larger than Vom Fass. They don’t have the wall of oils and vinegars that Vom Fass has — it’s all about the spices. I was able to find Harissa which I had looked for at both other stores and had been unable to find. The disappointment was that I got the same hard sell as VF. A plea to all shop owners out there: let us browse in peace! They had a ton of cute gift sets but our table was ready much sooner than expected so I had to dash out pretty quickly. A great West U resource for hard to find spices.

My husband and I stopped in to this adorable little shop yesterday. It is any foodie or home cooks dream. There are spices sold in jars, and most are sold in any quantity you want starting at 2oz up to an entire pound. You are welcomed as soon as you walk though the doors, and encouraged to try any that you wish from their«tester» jars. Just pour a bit in the palm of your hand to give it a try, and swipe the rest onto the floor. The employee who told us this must have seen the look of «Are you sure?» on my face, because he immediately explained that this helps with the aroma of the store, and they just give the floor a sweep every so often. They also sell a few house made hot sauces, tea blends, dried peppers, and even spice racks and empty spice jars. This place was amazing. I particularly liked the fact that there were hard to find spices and dried herbs, such as honey powder, true maple sugar, star anise, pink peppercorns… I could go on and on… but this place was amazing. Prices were fair, and the service eager to help. We will be back soon and often, which is saying a lot as we live about 40 minutes away.

What a great store! Michelle and Monica were great to chat with. And the store has every spice a cook could ever need.
