My friends invited me here over the weekend to watch the Spazmatics play and we had a blast! Parking lot is huge so there is no problem parking. Tickets at the door were $ 12. It was a Friday night and the place was packed! Drinks were reasonably priced. The popcorn took all of our money! It was hot and fresh. Great show and great vibes.

Scout Bar is awesome! I recently brought my girlfriend and we had a blast. Great drinks, great music and cool people. We will definitely be going back soon. The only downside was that the restrooms do get very dirty on the weekends, but I guess you can’t expect much different from a bar. I highly recommend to everyone.

Went to see a friends band play. $ 5 domestic beer then they open for me and pour into a plastic cup… WTH if I wanted a draft id ask for a draft. Lady tells me it’s because no glass yet these potatoes are serving mixed drinks and shots in glasses. Bouncers are all degenerates who like to harass paying customers yet not the pot smokers on the back patios who aren’t drinking. Place reeks of weed btw if your into that you can just get a contact high no need to buy any.

Covers of «OPP» by juggalo bands are quite amusing. Specially when juggalos in the crowd are singing along like it’s their«jam»

Friday, Sept. 4th, was our first time at Scout Bar and it won’t be our last time! We loved hearing Southbound 45, Hayden Carpenter, and Big Smo in a friendly & comfortable environment. The Manager Aline Wilson reserved us a table with a booth backing since we can’t stand or do bar stools due to disabilities. The location of the table/booth was perfect and the server for drinks was awesome & very attentive. We did smell pot a few times during the concerts, but nothing big. The staff was very present and everyone had a good/safe time! I have never felt so safe, relaxed, and comfortable like I did at Scout Bar. Such a great great place to go see concerts and we will always drive from Humble to go back there! Way to go Scout Bar!

I only been here twice, for Kamelot and Powerman 5000. Both times the place has been fantastic and quick. The Acoustics is surprisingly great, this is a small venue so be prepared to get early to get best spots and expect the restrooms to be cramped, more so after the show. It is far out from where I live(Spring) and still far from the center of the city. The parking is free and there is a big lot so no need to pay for paid parking. Drinks are strong and some specials depending on the day and show. security is tight which is a good thing. This was a two part venue and not sure if it still is, with the other room doing EDM music, but again correct me if I’m wrong.

Great concert venue, it’s a little small for some of the musical stylings they bring in, but it’s got a nice vibe and the acoustics are good. They are pretty versatile with the genres of music and the drink/ticket prices are reasonable. They take security pretty seriously too, which is comforting because many similar establishments don’t.

I’ve been here several times both as a musician and a patron, the sound is great, the security is good but has some members that take their jobs too seriously and lay hands on you before asking what happened(could’ve been a law suit but I let it go), the prices are reasonable, the pay from a musician stand point(musicians are poor) is decent. The cons are, if you aren’t a regular, good luck getting served at a decent time, my main problem is cops are«scouting» from across the street right as the bar closes so if you go there, have a designated driver or a DWI attorney on speed dial. All in all for being almost the only venue in that area it’s not bad, but hard to get on their stage, and once they do they want you back once they view your act is palatable to the sound they want, you’re open to good opportunities. If you’re a musician, try it out, you get good exposure, and if your band is good enough, you can get put on some pretty good bills. It takes awhile to get there but anything requires hard work and patience.

I have a friend whose band plays here so I decided to go and hear them. They have definitely made some improvements over the last 2 or 3 years, so that’s good and I like that they no longer allow smoking here because back in the day, they did, and it the stench was really unbearable for someone who doesn’t smoke. Aside from hearing a band play, I cannot see why anyone would go here though, and I definitely feel out of place when I do. LOL.

They should call this less a bar and more of a stage and speaker stack with a alcohol serving area attached. I have seen a few good bands play here, but if you don’t dress up like a goth kid from high school do expect some stares. The big ass beer is very worth it and the kegs are changed very regularly. Now if they would just not play the music so loudly that you could hear the vocals over the drummer.

I used to love scout bar. Back in the sick puppies, el nino, Wayne static days. But as of late, they’ve been sucking pretty hard. boo guys… Just boo…

This place books a lot of big names for being such a small venue. Many of the touring acts come back year after year, indicating there is something they too appreciate about Scout Bar. I have seen Hank III, Texas Hippie Coalition, Kittie, and many others play here. Looking forward to Wayne Hancock in November and Butcher Babies in October. The drink prices(on concert nights) are a dollar or so higher than I would like to see, but nothing unusual compared to what you would pay at bigger venues elsewhere. Lots of parking lot space yet somehow it still fills up quickly on sold out shows. Ticket prices are reasonable, they have a large patio/smoking area, and the sound quality is great.

This place ought to be condemned. Hitting this bar/club was a last minute decision at the end of a night out. There were perhaps a dozen people in the whole place at 1am, which was odd to see considering the size of the place. There was what looked to be ragged carpet on the floors, and a mixed cloud of cigarette smoke and the bands smoke machine tainting the air. My girlfriend and I walked in, did a loop of the place, then quickly made a beeline to the exit where we then were off to «scout«out other bars.

I had to film a band performing at this place, so I didn’t get to see everything this place has to offer, but from the stuff I did see, I was very impressed. First of they do let under 21 in, so that’s always is a plus. The atmosphere is very awesome(if you love hard rock music YOUWILLLOVETHISPLACE) and a very nice place to be. Since I am under 21 at the time of this review I can’t comment on their alcohol selection, but from what I saw it was ok. They have live bands playing every weekend(I think). Inside there’s a area where if you just want to drink and not listen to the band, the room has a sound prof wall. One thing that makes this bar unique id that they have a outdoor smoking section, so if you have a problem with smoking, you’ll be ok here. When I turn 21, this will definitely be my favourite bar to go to.

Best small-ish live music bar in Houston. Intimate stage, two bars, great sound system, good stage lighting, and all the recognizable names you could want to see elbow-to-elbow with 300+ other people. The long list of quality bands who’ve played here and left signed memorabilia speaks volumes about what a live music venue should be. The beer and mixed drinks are a bit overpriced, but that’s the only down side I’ve seen.

Being a guy new to Texas, I think I may have found the spot to watch local live bands. If you like rock music, this is the place to go. Bartender was cool and very polite, the bouncers were even cool peeps. Drinks were reasonably priced as well. I was told you just have to look on the site to see who’s playing that night, which was what I had did anyways. Now granted I never heard of the band, and looked up one song before going. They were pretty sick! So good I bought both CDs.(Nothing More is the group) Give this place a chance if you haven’t. I enjoyed it!

It was a dark and stormy night. All along the way from downtown Houston, we ignored the signs about tornado warning, one after another, and we braved the heavy rain and lightning.(Actually, by «we» I really just meant fellow Unilocaler Michelle M since she was the one driving, and I just sat on the side watching the lightning =P) We had our hearts set on watching the Spazmatics, and by golly we were gonna get there. Sure enough, we got there just in time to watch them perform. $ 10 cover for about three hours of live 80’s music — not a bad way to spend a Friday night(better without the storm of course). The Spazmatics totally rocked it. It was super duper fun watching them perform even though I did not know every song they played. Everyone on the band took their turns charming the crowd. I always appreciate it when bands take some time to interact with the crowds instead of just playing one song after another. The crowd definitely added to the experience as well. There were no one particularly obnoxious, and they played along with all the jokes and laughed at the appropriate times. It was just a fun time. It was a small venue with an intimate feel to it. The guitars and other decorations on the wall definitely added to the feel. The stage and the bar are opposite from each other in two ends of the room, so there was still plenty of space in between for people to jam without clashing against the drinking crowd. There were also booths and chairs along the wall for those that wanted a more chill experience to just sit back and watch. The lighting and sound quality were alright — nothing spectacular but good enough for the small venue performance. I only got a sweet tea vodka from the bar. It tasted pretty watered down, which was actually okay at the time because I was just flat out thirsty. Overall this was a solid place for intimate concerts, and I would check it out again for the right act.

Scout Bar was a fun nod to some live music dive bar in SF. I had an amazingly fun time here watching the charismatic Spazmatics($ 10 for the 80s cover band here every second Friday of the month.) I can’t speak for this place as a bar; I didn’t order anything while here. As a music venue, it was a fun, small, intimate place to watch a show. Certainly the peak of the show was between 10 – 12; after that people started to dwindle away with each set break. There were a few weirdos here, as with any concert. Some had to be escorted out. However, the rest of the attendance was having fun, singing and dancing along with the band. And that’s what I like – an unabashed group that is enjoying the evening together. There were three stalls in the women’s bathroom; the wait didn’t seem too long in the set breaks. Also, it was kept relatively clean for what I was expecting at a dive bar. All-in-all, this Scout Bar gets almost an Eagle Scouting commendation from me, particularly with special badges for Small Live Music Venue and Interior Décor(not quite the Fillmore, but who can beat them?)
