I would not recommend this place to my worse nightmare! Wait maybe I would!?! They are way over priced for being a scratch and dent. Seriously dented and beat the H-E-double hockey stick appliances! For that you might as well buy brand new. What I will say is that they do have a pretty decent selection and variety. Again that is all I will say. Oh wait! You’ve been warned.

This has been by far the worst experience ever! I would not recommend this Sears Outlet to anyone. It is NOT worth the couple hundreds dollars you’ll save. We paid for a washer and dryer which were delivered last Saturday, except the dryer did not even turn on. Management has been completely unresponsive. We are now waiting a whole other week for someone to come see if it’s working, then once they confirm that it is truly defected(which is obvious it is since it won’t even turn on) who knows how long we’ll have to wait until it can be replaced. Please do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. WORST customer experience ever.

I would not recommend purchasing from this Sears Outlet. The prices are enticing, but is not worth the headache. I purchased a washer & gas dryer set that was delivered to my home. Dryer would not turn on from the get-go. The Management has been no help, and the money I saved is not worth all the time and effort required to simply get a working washer and dryer.

This place is on «the other side of the tracks». Like, literally, there are tracks about a block away and this is definitely the other side of them. That being said, I love this place. I purchased a washer last year and a new refrigerator yesterday. Is everything organized efficiently? No. Do you feel like you’re shopping at a garage sale/flea market? Yes. Do you save quite a bit of money on slightly dinged appliances? Oh sure! Even though the employees work on commission, I have NEVER felt pressured to purchase or buy more expensive models. Everyone is extremely helpful and courteous, and will inspect all purchases with you to identify any damages. The saleswoman who helped me with my refrigerator purchase actually found me a BRANDNEW demo fridge in the back and gave it to me for the same price as the scratched one on the floor. That’s customer service! They offer shipping($ 65 – 75) and old-appliance-take-away service(only $ 10!). Warranties vary, but for my washer I had a one-year manufacturer’s warranty plus the option for additional coverage through Sears. In summary, this is a great place to check in on after you’ve made the rounds to Best Buy, Home Depot, Conn’s, etc. and have a good idea of what brand/style appliance you want. It’s all about luck and timing, but it’s well worth it when you find a good match!

[Sally Struthers voiceover] Every day, thousands of appliances are left to fend for themselves. Unwanted, scuffed, or repossessed, they are looking for a good home to cook or clean for you with nothing asked in return. Won’t you help by adopting one of these functioning household durable goods? All it takes is your credit card or cash. This ‘orphanage’ is literally by the railroad tracks in a gritty, no-mans-land inside the Loop on the south side. No bus line will bring you here. Filled with every kind of appliance, the place is more warehouse than store. No Muzak, no Starbucks. Lots of brand names here: Maytag, LG, Whirlpool, Frigidaire, and, of course, Kenmore. I had come to shop for a full-size stackable washer and dryer as well as eyeball refrigerators as part of my personal«Stimulus Plan for America». «SPA» for short. Lots of choices for your laundry needs. The hunt for a washer and dryer here was a chore: matching items are not placed next to each other and you have to hunt around in a real-life version of that card game, «Concentration», for the two pieces. Remember that game? It did not help that the washer and dryer control panels look very similar to each other and, with the complexities of all the permutations of each machine, made it hard to tell the washer from the dryer. These things should have a big«W» and«D» on its surface to make it easier. Put it on a peel-off sticker if you have to — just do it. The refrigerators were easier to navigate since each fridge is permanently tethered to its freezer component. No option for«just» the fridge portion, thank you. Found a number of stainless ones($ 700‑1400), a lot of black French door styles($ 1000 – 1350), and regular model white ones($ 500 – 800). Prices were a bit high for a scratch-and-dent outlet. Sears proclaims that you’re saving 20−60% off retail price but I’m old school on «outlet» prices. I want to see that thing marked down 75%. Put some scratches on the back or sides, discount it another 10%, and I’ll buy the thing. Each piece is scuffed or has a small dent in various places and is the reason why its here and not back at a regular Sears store. All marks are cosmetic and they offer a full manufacturer warranty on the stuff. Delivery is available. $ 65 for weekday deliveries. $ 75 for weekends. Flat fee for one piece or a whole truckload of orphans. As my personal SPA progresses, I’ll check in with Sally Struthers for the newest orphan appliances. Get to cooking and cleaning, you urchins!
