If I wanted to use the windshield squeegee to scrub off every bug on the car, I wouldn’t have paid for a car wash. I ran a damp paper towel along the roof and it was black. What did this car wash even do? It’s like ordering a fight on pay-​per-​view then watching a tickle fight. Worthless.

I am not a fan of this gas station for few reasons. I don’t like that few of the stations are usually out of order which makes it at times confusing and time-​wasting. Secondly their location is not very convenient for those who in a rush. They have a good prices compare to other places but their customer service still need to be improved.

This is a typical corner gas station, but I chuckle each time I stop by this one. After getting my petro and sometimes a tall boy I get to the counter and notice the guys name tag says his name is ‘Merchant’. For a moment I have insatiable desire to say — «SERIOUSLY? — that is ironic, because you are one». Then I think that he is just trying to hide his real name, which then confuses me and makes me wonder ‘why?’ — that is just weird. I don’t know maybe they only have one nametag for the store and just pass it from shift to shift, but at least I pick something other than ‘Merchant’.
Anyway the gas is typically a few cents cheaper than the Chevron across the street. The thing that draws me to this station is the carwash (yes, I know that is weird too but, at least my name is not carwash). It is really strong and gets all of the bird poo off my truck, which I like.

Seems to have pretty good prices when compared to other gas stations in the area. I’m sure its a beast to pull into during rush hour though.
Haven’t had a need to go inside yet, but there are always lots of pumps! There is a car wash too!

Dammit, I never have my Kroger card when I need it. Regardless, this is a reliable Shell gas station. Not too busy, a car wash, an entrance along Montrose and West Alabama.
The clerk is always helpful. And sometimes flirty. This last time he helped me carry out 4 bags of ice to my car and half-​jokingly wanted to know where the party was.

This Shell station consistently used to have the lowest price among Shell stations in the area, often by 5%. Now they are right in the middle with all the rest. Review edited ⁹⁄₂₀₁₄ from 5 to 3 stars.

The prices are not the cheapest in the ‘hood, but it’s a well-​maintained station and you won’t have to worry about them selling sketchy, diluted gasoline here.
There’s some promo with your Kroger card to save $, but like things of that nature, I tend to forget about it until it’s too late. So, note to self for next time, swipe the Krogers card before you pump and maybe you’ll win a prize.
They sell Bugles and all sorts of on the road accoutrements you may need, like nail clippers with an image of the Virgin of Guadalupe, energy and/​or potency powders, condoms, koozies, and jerky.
There’s also a drive thru car wash (deluxe is $ 8) and an air and water self service machine (I’m going to say .75, because I can’t remember, but it costs some coin).
Very basic, but it does the trick. Happy trails.
