Maybe an off day? Extremely long wait for food. Thai Chili wings were really good. Turkey avocado melt and herbed chicken with greens were dry and unpalatable. I choked down my chicken with salad because I was starving after the wait. Great atmosphere inside, so small I can’t imagine the wait issue even if busy?

I have ate at the owner’s other restaurants(pinks, lola’s.etc) and was super excited to try another one. The food was alright, but nothing special. I was hoping for far better food. The people and service was great though.

Décor was laid back, front room had some retro chairs and in the back there were booths that sat comfortably for two wish they had booths to fit 3 – 4. Everyone was very welcoming even though it was our first time, they made us feel like we were regulars. My friends and I wanted everything on the menu! Donut Waffle: Shipley glazed donuts with bacon and whipped cream, wish it was donut batter mixed with waffle batter, it was still good though. I thought it could have used a little more bacon to give it that equal sweet salty flavor. Korean Short Rib Tacos: too sweet for me, presentation was beautiful, makes you want to dive right in. Here is my ultimate favorite… Sausage and Biscuits with spicy Italian sausage, so much flavor I forgot about the goat cheese grits served on the side. I would definitely go back for the sausage and biscuits and a few other items that caught my eye. My friend ordered a Bloody Mary, it was eh. Parking was good, great price and portion ratio.

Service: Our waiter was welcoming, stayed attentive and had a great sense of humor. Drinks: The bloody Marys are priced reasonably during brunch, and were nothing special, but not offensive in any way. I’m a lover of Sonic-esque ice and that’s what they’ve got, which magically seems to make drinks better. Wanted it spicier and vodkier because I want my cake strong and to drink it with a sweaty brow too! Food: We had the drunken mussels and grilled cheese with tomato soup. The drunken mussel sauce was so rich and named appropriately because after eating it you have the«itis». Thank God the seating is conducive to laziness. Some of the mussels were served unopened, which I feel shouldn’t have been plated since uneatable. The bread on the grilled cheese was so buttery and had the perfect amount of crispness. I would like to add a fried egg in there just because. The bisque had great flavor, but the consistency was a bit lumpy(because of the cheese used, I hope!?) When in Oak Forest it’s not too shabby of a choice for food and drink.

Great laid back brunch, the staff was very attentive and the the sausage and biscuits are the absolute best with the goat cheese grits! Yes! Wish the donut waffle was actually a donut pressed into a waffle, but still good. The korean tacos were just way too sweet not a fan, but other than that great food and atmosphere.

4th time here, and it’s still amazing. Brunch menu is good too. Mac and cheese is fantastic! Staff is consistent and has continued to take great care of us. This place is on our regular list now. ________________________________ Came in on a whim looking for a good burger because of the Unilocal reviews. This place delivered exceptionally well. Came in early Sunday afternoon. Small place, but we had no issue picking a booth. Got the Gouda burger and Bandera burger. Both were fantastic! And the fries, oh the fries! So good! I’ll eat here and enjoy a beer over Cottonwood next door any day. Service was ok. Not great, but we were in no rush, and he still took care of everything we needed. Great little neighborhood gem, and we’ll definitely be back!

Good beer selection here and the service was really good. A pretty small place so I can imagine it might be tough getting a table, but we came around 6:30 on a weeknight and had no problems. The booth we got was really dark, so dark it was tough to read the menu. I got one of the burgers and it was awesome. Cooked just right and big enough to fill my appetite.

Great little spot with an English flare, great local beer selection and excellent!!! food. We came in for the beer but the Poblano burger was really good. Meat cooked. medium, flavorful in a bun so light and fresh it just came out of the oven. Had the deep fried ravioli also very good.

I enjoy this place but you can stand in front of it and still not see it. There is a pizza place on the left and a blank door on the right. Go in the right side and find yourself in a funky little bar. There are some tables towards the back. I enjoy getting the Korean BBQ pork tacos which comes with rice and black beans. My friends liked the various things they got, except for the Mac n cheese dish which tasted like they used Velveeta for the cheese. Service is great.

Stopped in for a quick lunch this past week while working in the area. Very cool place! I ordered the Chicken Curry and it was surprisingly really good. Service was slow but the food and beer selection seem to be solid.

Let me start off by saying that my Husband and I have been coming here with our family or on date nights for years, and have previously really enjoyed our experiences. They had a fun and interesting menu, good beer selection and a great atmosphere with awesome music. However, the last few times we have come, the quality has greatly diminished. The same female bartender is there every night and clearly has a ‘click’ that she will wait in before anyone else. You have to flag her down to ask for drinks. The menu hasnt changed and the food quality has really gone down. I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato bisque, and was served partially melted cheese, and curdled soup?!! When I pointed it out, she told me that because they pre-make the soup that its how it comes when they reheat it, and… well shes never had food poisoning so its fine. Wtf?! Are you serious right now? I would say that this is simply just a bar now, but again, its really hard to even get beers. I really wish the owners would revamp the menu and staff. Its such a cool place and great location. But wont be heading back till they make some real changes. And by the number of people in there anymore it looks like most people agree!

Great place to chill over a good beer selection and quality food, with modern concrete-meets-vintage mansion sitting room décor. They’ve got a large food menu, whether burgers, sandwiches, or even items as diverse as Korean short rib tacos, and a surprisingly decent Thai chicken curry. Service is also fast and courteous. A great neighborhood establishment that’s also worth the drive if you don’t live nearby.

I’ve been here for Saturday brunches, and I like that we never had to wait unlike many other Houston brunch spots. The vibe is laid-back, and they always play great music. My favorite order is the biscuit and gravy. The gravy is filled with flavor and is the perfect portion size. I tried one of the burgers once, and I thought it was ok. However, I’m not a huge burger fan, so my opinion in their burger may be invalid. I was surprised by how much I did not enjoy the goat cheese ravioli when I had tried it recently. The restaurant is kind of known for the goat cheese ravioli, so I was excited to try it out. Unfortunately, the goat cheese was a little overwhelming. Shepherd Park Draught House is a great brunch spot when you don’t want to deal with crowds or a wait-time.

Came here on a Saturday night with my husband. We were looking for something close by with good food and drinks. So glad Unilocal brought us here! We were expecting regular old bar food, and were pleasantly surprised by the menu. We ordered the mac and cheese, bandera burger, and short rib tacos. All of it was fresh and delicious. I’m really wondering who they have working in the kitchen because everything we had was awesome. I can’t wait to try out more of their menu. The bar has a good variety of local beers and serves some liquor as well, though they do not offer a full bar. They had Shiners, Karbach, and some other local beers. We enjoyed the variety, though the list wasn’t too long. It is a small bar, after all. The atmosphere here is GREAT! The décor is nice and the music was pretty dang good. It was the perfect volume that we could talk and hear each other, but we were also listening to good music. I kept commenting to my husband about all the songs i liked :) Also, on top of it all, the service was great. The bartender took very good care of us. She was helpful and super pleasant. I can’t wait to go back. and take everyone i know. lol.

OMGGG! This French Dip(roast beef with melted cheese) served with a side of delicious horseradish and a side of «I can drink a gallon of this«Au jus broth is out of this world! And the homemade fries are tasty, too! Also, the Poblano burger is pretty awesome. We love coming here. .about 3 times a week but cutting back to once a week. .my belly!!! The atmosphere is cool with dim lights. I wish or more like our son wish that you would offer those delicious Truffle fries at this location. Also, a cocktail drink menu would help me out in returning more often. Thank you for the delicious food and our friends enjoyed it as well.

Menu is imaginative and food is fantastic! Atmosphere is fun and hipster chic. Location is easy to find and access. So far Im not impressed with the waitresses. I was there for a motorcycle night and I asked for a Coke to which I received«I’ll get this one but I’m not running in and out all night for Cokes.» I said«I’m going to pay for it.» She said, «I know but it will be too confusing.» Well bite my booty!

I’ve come here twice, and I’ve left very satisfied both times. One time, I should mention, was a couple of hours before my own wedding, and I needed a place for lunch with my groomsmen :). It’s a relaxed place, with really good food, and a decent selection of beers. I really enjoy their menu and how varied it is. The only complaint is that sometimes this place gets hit up by motorcycle groups. The problem is, it quickly can fill the place up and fill up the parking lot. But, I’ve been lucky so far and haven’t had to wait, so I’m still giving it 5 stars. And if the worst problem a place has it that it can be too busy… Well, it’s probably a good problem to have.

Very narrow and dark restaurant. Small menu, which is good for indecisive people like me. Great for burgers. I chose the poblano burger. This thing was huge and came with a lot of fries! I couldn’t finish everything. My burger was nice and juicy. Good meat to bun ratio. I love love love French fries. Their fries made me happy. Their fries are on the soft side vs crunchy. It was a bit salty though. My friend chose the bandera burger and he really enjoyed it. Just a quick note, even though it’s called a draught house, they don’t have a large selection of beer. Would I come back? Yes, for a nice big burger :).

It was St. Patrick’s Day morning and after picking up a friend of mine we decided to start the day off at this spot. Been here a few times before. Small quaint corner bar with that long and narrow look. Walking in they were playing Irish rock music. I tell you what… Irish rock makes me want to drink! Beer selection is better than most places. This time we decided to eat. The menu is pretty good. All the descriptions of the burgers read like food porn in words. Ended up getting the Pretzels with the Honey Butter, Hot Wings and the El Chito for my burger. The Pretzels were ah… mazing. they came out in stick form. Decided to slice the stick in half and stuff the honey butter in it turning it basically into a butter hot dog of sorts. It became the best decision all morning. The wings were typical but still very good. El Chito was on point! I mean you really cant go wrong with a fried egg on a burger when you went hard at the bar the night before. Great place to chill out and lounge with friends over cold ones.

I could live here. Get the fries and get the French dip. Both could very well be on some fancy shcmancy restaurant menu for 3X the price. Food: 9 We popped in on a cold mid Monday afternoon because I was wanting a good grilled cheese and tomato soup. This place popped up on my Unilocal when I searched. And while the cheddar, baby swiss & nantucket pimento on big thick Texas toast was okay(more bread than cheese), the wife’s French dip stole the show. I thought the tomato basil cream bisque served with the grilled cheese was exactly as described. Warm and flavorful. But at $ 9.50 I’ll keep searching the menu. They have chili made with short rib meat and I actually got a bowl of that too. $ 6 It was perfect on the grilled cheese sammy. A suggestion of our waitress. The soups and chili are served in larger ramekins. If you are considering either for a meal you better eat like a bird. You need a burger or other entrée to really get full. Now that French dip… a large sandwich served on one of the softest, most delicious buns ever. Creamy horseradish and extremely beefy au jus. At 10.50 it was well worth the price. Comes with their seasoned fries. Yep… near perfect. I have always been a fan of the dip at Houston’s. THIS was much better. Brunch on Saturday & Sunday, 10am — 3pm any entrée $ 8.50. Mostly your basic brunch menu. I haven’t tried it — yet. Won’t comment on it here. Bar: 8 Small selection of local beers. Your Shiners, Karbach, Lonestars, Real Ale and a few well chosen brews. Texas Tuesday gets you $ 2 draughts on some Texas beers. A few choice liquors. If you want a Jack and Coke or vodka/7 then you can get it here. Don’t expect mixology. It’s a basic bar. I see why they don’t offer 100 different beers. It’s a small bar. Service: 10+++ Kat, behind the bar, took care of everything. She greeted us with a happy, «What’s up?» from behind the bar. I never felt for a minute that I WASN’T a regular who came in everyday after work for a beer and a sea salt pretzel($ 5 served with honey butter and soft and delish!). I left her a near 30% tip. Possibly the most pleasant and efficient waitress I have had at any meal in months! Atmosphere: 9 The only drawback I saw from this place was the size of the booths. Fitting more than 2 adults in them would be a bit of a squeeze. There seemed to be plenty of seating at the bar. And the cool little sitting spot up front with the funky chairs would be great for a group settling in for drinks. Excellent use of the existing building inside and as the website says the walls are«adorned with an incredible collection of punk, pop, and rock memorabilia from the private collection of owner/executive chef, Ken Bridge.» It felt like a former speak easy without the smoke stained walls! I might live here.
