Just finished eating at this place, and honestly coming from Los Angeles and San Diego, this place was just as good as what I’ve had before. Tried out the bean curd with ground pork while my girlfriend had some spicy looking noodle with beef that I was too scared to try. Overall though, service was great, everybody was friendly, and I would definitely come back anytime I feel like some good food. Also the waiter gave us some awesome tips on where to go to hang out, or to get some dessert. Really nice of him. Thanks man!

Setup: dinner club with the Fantastic 3+! The good: clean updated space, pretty prompt and friendly service, takes credit cards, Szechuan dumplings, pork belly something or other, beef with rice puff cakes The less good: Watch out for the level of numbness(not spice, just numb) — they can adjust if you ask. Asiatown parking. Observations: I should have paid more attention to the numbers we were ordering but the waitress was very helpful, even when we were showing her pictures from Unilocal and asking what everything was. They def tried to fancy up the place — gold gilded floors and a fur lined wall along the back are part of the décor.

The best place ever! Dishes are so good! We normally go dinner here. I usually oder appetizer, main dish and veg. For appetizer tofu dish and wontons are frivolous. For main course there is a shrimp dish and this is really die for. Tan of chiles, good mount of shrimps and their are poteto in it(the poteto sork all the delicious fraver) Veg is depending on my mood Sichuan eggplants are spicy and good. Also Chinese veg stayed with formented bean curd are exellent too. The owner very friendly and nice.

This little restaurant is directly across the street from Hunan Bistro(check out my review on this restaurant). It is a noodle shop but also it has other dishes. Stir fries, stone hot pot … We ordered: COLDDISHES: C4 Szechuan cold noodle very well done C8 tangy and spicy chicken this chicken dish have bones and Sichuan pepper(numbing spicy), the sauce is just right, spicy but not overpowering. Thinly sliced cold Pork with Sichuan garlic sauce(this one is new, just added cold appetizer. I really enjoyed this dish. Pretty garlicky. You have to like garlic and don’t mind a little fat in the meat to like this dish. I order this dish in every Sichuan restaurant. NOODLES: N1 Szechuan beef brisket noodle. This noodle come with tenderly stewed cubed brisket on top of a big bowl of homemade noodles with spicy beef broth. Very good flavor. Could use more meat. N17 Szechuan pan fried noodle Wide flat flour noodle stir fried with mushroom, bean spout, muer(wood ear). Delicious! The restaurant is very clean and tastefully decorated. Simple but elegant. We definitely will come back to try some other dishes.

Awesome foods! Great prices. Free soup to start with. Perfect amount of spicy, and there is more at your table. :) will be back.

Walking in, we noticed the owners had a baby out which was cute but the whole time we were there the baby was screaming. Made the experience uncomfortable. We ordered Sichuan beef brisket noodle soup and black peppered beef on a hot plate. The black peppered beef was good. Beef was frozen but it was cooked and season well. I know Sichuan cuisine is suppose to be spicy and pretty oily. I asked the lady if the noodles will be spicy she said a little and I asked for more spice. When it came out it was very oily, which is normal I guess but dang. My heart can’t handle the amount of oil in it. At least it’s spicy right? Wrong. It was not spicy at all and I would’ve added the chili oil on the table but there’s already so much oil. Lastly, I order beef BRISKET but I literally had 1 brisket, 2 bok Choi pieces, and a bunch of tendon.

Great spicy food at a good price. The fish and glass noodles in broth is deceptively spicy with the numbing tingle of flower peppers. The numbing feeling is as much present in the broth as the fish and noodles. The spicy chicken is great but the portion was a little small and I like the dish a little better with peanuts added. Make sure to order the cold noodles as well.

My face and mouth are on fire but my stomach is happy. Sichuan noodles is delicious comfort food with lots of carbs to send you into a great afternoon nap. The most amazing thing I have tasted here is the fish fillets with clear glass noodles — the clear broth is deceptive as it has a hidden kick as you hastily consume the dish. The Special Noodles are a delicious blend of peanuts, ground pork, and chili oils(see picture) and are satisfyingly chewy and spicy.

The best Szechuan restaurant in Chinatown is Mala. Sichuan Noodles is a good alternative if you are looking for a quick, inexpensive noodle meal. The Szechuan Spicy Tangy Noodle(dandan noodle) is a large bowl of spicy noodles for only $ 5.95. Add a bowl of Szechuan Hot Oil Wontons(comes with 10 mini wontons) for $ 4.95.

their food is super super spicy so be prepared !!! I ordered the beef brisket noodle and it was spicy as helll X. X I had to asked them to take out half of the broth and put chicken soup in it so I could finish my bowl. I think their noodle is hand made since it looks kinda. funky?! lol the beef was tender, and of course, I could taste nothing from the broth but the spiciness X. X Their fried rice is sooo goood !!! it doesn’t taste like those type of American Asian fried rice dipped in tons of soy sauce, but so different?! I love the texture and how it tastes in my mouth. A must try if you do not know what else to order lol. their wanton is good too, but nothing really special about it. Their chicken broth is really bland though :/

I come here for the twice cooked pork but their noodle dishes are pretty good too. The ground beef they have in their dishes is kind of an odd texture that you kind of have to get used to but the flavor profile of their food is generally a good balance between savory and spicy. They don’t serve ice in their water which is kind of a bummer because their food can get really spicy. And just a heads up the asterisk signs next to the dishes are how spicy level goes for that item and the one star is already a gradual burn for me!

Been here a few times with friends. Their noodles are authentic and taste good! Some dishes are pretty good(cold pot fish is off the menu but is really good!), and portion is huge. But if you can’t handle spicy food, this place is probably not for you… Will keep coming back:)

Solid. Chewy noodles, flavorful soups and sauces, good variety on the menu. Try the spicy wontons, or the dan dan noodle. Do not come to a chinatown restaurant expecting stellar service(they were perfectly amicable), always have cash(they take credit card for larger orders), and don’t come to a Sichuan restaurant if you can’t eat spicy food.

Always searching for new Sichuan restaurants, I’ve been to ‘Sichuan Noodles’ a couple of times. Clean place — friendly owner — good service — although occasionally language could be a barrier, but only when inquiring or customizing an order. Noodle soups were alright — but that’s not why I frequent there now. So far my favorite item on the menu«Szechuan Spicy Boiled Fish with vegetables» and the only customization I do to this dish is to get it with bok choy instead of cabbage. The quantity and taste are just phenomenal. Also the hot chili oil they have on each table is nothing short of awesome with the familiar Sichuan tongue-numbing kick. The only gripe, if any, is that they have a $ 20 minimum for credit card usage — so it helps to carry cash with you if you are not ordering many dishes.

Sadly, I was under the impression of NOODLES on the menu. But noodles only occupy less than 30% on the 2-page menu. I really didn’t want to low ball new restaurants, but there were so many things wrong. 1– I asked the waitress about the level of spiciness on Kunfu Noodles 功夫面, even it didn’t have an asterisk(*) indicate being spicy. I specifically asked for a mild dish. The waitress told me as she brought the food, «Oh, it might be a little spicy.» Right, the noodles were drenched in red sauce. 2– I like to try new things but I regretted this time. It was topped with«shredded chicken,» according the waitress. But my mouth disagreed. It was more like chewing on eraser chips. 3– The noodles were cooked just right. So, I was curious if they were handmade or machine-made. She was clueless. Ok, she must be new. Overall, this is not my type of noodle joint.

Tried to have lunch here today. We arrived a little after 12 and there were not many customers so we hoped to have quick service. We ordered spare rib noodles and beef tendon noodles. More than 45 minutes later still no food! Finally wait staff even refused to come to our table and only brought food out when we stood up to leave at nearly 1:10! Would never go here again regardless of how the food might taste!

Decent Sichuan alternative to Mala in the always dependable Dun Huang Plaza. I tried the Sichuan Beef Brisket Noodle soup(N1). It wasn’t particularly spicy, and the broth was good but nothing particularly special. At $ 8, it’s not the cheapest bowl of noodle soup in Chinatown, but as far as I know there aren’t a whole lot of Sichuan places that serve these kinds of unpretentious, simple but good noodle soups. They give you this hot broth to drink with your food that tastes similar to Korean seolleongtang in that it has a very hearty, boiled meat taste. Complements the spiciness quite well. Service was a little slow, but I’m cutting them some slack because it’s a new restaurant. I’m looking forward to coming back here and writing a more in-depth review.
