DONOTEATHERE! BLANCAISTHEMANAGERANDRUDEASHECK! GOTOTOMMY’S! Rude staff. Language barrier. Food is not the best(the chili wasn’t too bad– a bit greasy). MAKESUREYOUGIVETHEMYOURTELEPHONELINKEDTOTHEREWARDS because they will not ask you for your card before swiping. Blanca is the manager and a terrible one at that! She comes from the Downtown location. I’m not sure of how she managed that location there, but she needs an immediate demotion or termination! She’s absolutely terrible and as rude as a tornado on a calm, pretty day! It took everything in me to maintain my composure over the phone! First of all, I asked in clear, plain English if I could have the soup or salad combo but substitute chili for the soup. The food preparer told me, «No problem.» I get to the register, and I ask for the cheese and onions that clearly states on the menu comes with the chili, and Blanca’s rude butt tells me that it doesn’t come with it. I pointed to the menu and said, «Oh, yes it does!» She said it does not because I got a soup and sandwich combo with chili instead, but she’ll «give» me the cheese and onions without charging me. Wait– what? She’s not giving me anything! The freaking menu states chili comes WITH cheese and onions! So, she grabs my card out of my hand– I’m just writing that off as an accident. She forgot to ring up my drink, so she does so before swiping my card. I am trying to interrupt her rambling chatter to give her my phone number to collect my rewards points, and she keeps talking. So, finally, I asked her if I can enter my phone number, and she tells me no because I should have given it to her first. I make the suggestion that maybe she should ask her customers if we have a rewards card before she rings us up(like Kroger does). She just casually brushes off my suggestion and says to have a great day. I eat my lunch and contemplate about what just happened, as I am now upset. I called her a couple of hours after lunch, and she states that she remembers me. I told her that I felt like I was brushed off and mistreated, and I spend a lot of money there. She said(GETTHIS) that I can give her my last two receipts and that she would call corporate and have them add the point onto my account but that it would be the first and the last time she would do this for me. I told her that she will not do any favors for me. I told her to forget calling corporate(as I will send them a nice email about her improper behavior), and that I will NEVER, EVER return to Skyline again! I will spend my money at the adjacent grille, Tommy’s!

This place must only be in business by virtue of being in a business complex to serve those who need something quick. Food is horrible, ladies barely spoke English.

I wish Alonti was still here — oh how I love their Italian Wedding Soup! Oh well, on to the deli at hand. I work on the Post Oak Central Campus so Skyline is convenient but I’m not all that impressed. Not that I expect 5-star quality from a deli chain, but I’ve had better. I like the cheeseburger and sweet potato fries and from time to time, I’ll get a sandwich — nothing special. I usually get a salad and they have a nice selection. When they first opened, they were handing out Frequent Diner cards which they’d holepunch every time you purchased a salad. Well, when I came in one day and bought a salad and handed them my card, the cashier told me that they’d stopped because they ran out of cards and were no longer offering that promotion. Darn! My company and advisors have used them a few times for catering and that went pretty well.
