I have to admit that I like this place. I had just come from dinner, so I was neither hungry nor thirsty. No foods were offered to me, so I like that they allowed me to dictate my pace. For the staff not to offer may be an irritant to some, but since it is a pool hall, I like that they put that mentality first. I do know that they charge by the minute. I would be comfortable giving them a 4 star rating except one thing happened… they forgot to give me all the pool balls on the initial handing out of supplies! That would not be an issue, but if you are charged per minute, and you have to wait several minutes for the one guy handing out supplies to get back to your area, then that is kind of unfair to the customer to have dead time waiting on your to do your initial task properly and charge me for your mess up. Screw your 4th star!!! I like that they have a great deal before the night time hours kicks in with regards to pricing. You were charged about $ 7 an hour($ 0.11 a minute) for pool on my particular Sunday. It goes to $ 14($ 0.22 a minute) an hour for the nighttime play. I was not told if the night time was something based on a set time, or if it was when you looked outside and saw it was dark. I noticed a full bar, darts, a game to test how hard you can punch, a basketball shooting machine, and a menu with light eats… with no prices… I hate no prices. I should take away another star for not allowing my frugal meter to activate and scope accordingly! All in all, a good experience. They truly earned that 4th star on the strength of them not allowing smoking inside of the building! That’s a huge plus for me. So, you do get the 4th star. If I order food next time, you just may lose that forth star, so be ready!

I don’t know why the reviews are bad this place is okay. It is what it is a pool hall and a small bar. No perks, no extras just pool and a beer. Guess what they didn’t steal my license either. My waiter was Katie she did a good job.

Fuck this place! This waitress stole my license. She kept on insisting that she gave it back to me. Manager so unprofessional as well. I think her name was Sheena. Be careful this is a sketchy place. I will call the cops on her as I’ve read other reviews that this is not the first time this happens. She steals driver licenses/ID’s

A lot of fun but the drink prices are kinda crazy payed 28 bucks of a bucket of beer when I could go to another place and get the same thing for 20! Not a big deal! But just kinda crazy to me! Anyway, the atmosphere here is crazy fun and no one is judging you if you don’t know how to play! Will mostly come back again

Don’t ever let the waitress by the name of Sheena serve you. She lost my driver’s license(you have to give a form of ID to get a pool table) because she gave gave it to another person. I could’ve lived with that if she didn’t have the audacity to call me a liar and say she never took my ID even though all my friends saw her do so. I got a refund, but that means nothing considering I’ll now have to take off from work to go get it replaced.

This is a shitty place. Waitresses are slow and actually quite stupid too and __YOU CANNOTPLAYIFYOUDON’T HAVE A DRIVER’S LICENSE__. I even offered to leave a 50 dollar deposit. Even that was a no go!!! Bunch of jerks. Go somewhere where people aren’t so uptight and don’t treat you like a thief the moment you walk in the door. At night they play loud LOUD very LOUD. Almost like a night club. Annoying as hell if you are an actual pool player.

First things first: Ike, the bartender, was great. Friendly, quick, and correct, he was the best thing about this place. Sadly, Ike cannot carry the weight of the rest of this location’s problems. 1. Poor food quality. I wasn’t expecting Texas Land & Cattle, just regular bar food, but the«nachos» weren’t even movie-theater quality. They really were awful. And $ 1.75 each for sour cream and guac? Even Freebird’s doesn’t charge that much, and their guac is actually made from avocados, not this tube-squeezed nastiness. The half-portion of grilled chicken for $ 2 was barely edible. From other people who ordered different items, none of the rest of it was better, either. 2. How can you call yourself a pool hall, have numerous tables, but no hand chalk? Seriously? 3. Wait staff(other than the bartender) was inconsistent, at best. We had three different servers in the 2 hours I was there. «Where’s the other girl?» «Oh, they drop like flies around here.» 4. $ 14/hour/table? Again, seriously? I doubt most of the people working there make anywhere close to that. Ridiculously overpriced. All things considered, I won’t likely be back unless it’s for a necessary function, and I’ll leave my cue at home… and make sure to eat beforehand.

I usually go here on Sunday afternoons before 7 to play at half price. After 7 is pretty pricey. They re-felt the tables less than once a year, so condition is not the best. Bartender is usually friendly. Waitresses come on after 7 on Sundays. They discontinued hand chalk sometime back because it was causing some kind of problem.

I rate this location two stars. Waitresses take too many smoke breaks and tend to for get orders/I.D’s. This pool hall does not offer hand chalk for pool tables; Upper management seems to do more work than the waitresses.

They built this place maybe 4 – 5 years ago? It’s pretty roomy inside so the wait for tables on a weekend aren’t too bad. Come on Wednesday for all you can play for $ 5, and on Monday it’s free pool with food/drink purchase. They also have some arcade games including foosball and basketball at the far left corner for those that got dragged in with their pool shark buddies. Thursdays have HH until 9PM, and $ 2 Coors Light during regular happy hour. Typical bar food, as pizzas are $ 11 and fries are $ 3. Bartenders are usually pretty nice, and they always greet their regulars. Check this place out!

It’s tough to find great places to shoot some stick inside the loop, especially if you fashion yourself after Fast Eddie Felson, or the young punk pool player Tom Cruise played whose name I don’t remember right now and don’t care enough to google. Don’t set your expectations too high and this place is OK. This Galleria area location of Slick Willie’s is large inside and they have lots of tables, even a couple of 9 foot ones. The quality of them and the upkeep of the felt is not top notch, to put it nicely. If you don’t have your own cue, budget five minutes for your mission of finding a house cue that actually has a decent tip and isn’t warped. Then again, if you actually know what I am talking about, you’ll probably bring your own, so that may not be a big concern, except for finding a house cue for the break. Service here can be slow at times and mistakes have occasionally been made on my bill. However, I will say that the waitresses here are normally very friendly and they have quickly corrected past mistakes. There are many of them, so it does depend on who you get. I know, obvious statement. Overall, service is OK. I like to take advantage of Wednesday nights when they have $ 5 for all you can play pool. Do order food or drinks. The food there is bar food. The pizza is alright. If you stick with water and get seven refills, don’t be a douche. .. leave a good tip. I don’t work for them. I just like the special and don’t want to see them have to change it.

There’s no a whole lot to be expected from Slick Willie’s. While this flagship location is nicer than most, the service leaves something to be desired as it is very inconsistent. One night, the waiter we got came around regularly to make sure we were doing alright and that we had our drinks good to go. The next night(literally the night after), we got a waitress that was very subpar. She had a pretty nasty attitude that was acknowledged by some of the other tables around us and by some people at the bar. It would seem like she was headed our direction to check up on us, but end up avoiding our tables completely. Most of the orders we put in had to be done right at the bar. It also didn’t help that it would take her 15 minutes to bring us a beer and over half an hour to bring us our food. It wasn’t even a matter of how busy it was considering that she found time to visit with a table or two for at least 10 minutes at a time. Pool does get kind of expensive, especially if you’re ordering food or drinks. Be sure to come on Wednesdays where it’s $ 5 per person for unlimited games. Monday nights work, too, as if you order food and drink totally at least your table’s hourly rate, you don’t have to pay for pool. There are better locations to play pool, but if you’re in the area, might as well give it a shot.

The pool is extremely expensive. $ 12 for an hour. Do the math. Unless you’re really good, and can play 5 games in an hour, it’s overpriced. Better off paying by the game somewhere else. Drinks are decently priced. Good, cheap bar food.
