I’ve eaten here and at the Las Vegas location on many occasions, (15 – 16 times?) and their steaks are always wonderful. The dry-​aged rib-​eyes are my favorite cuts and there is no other steak house that can beat S&W on flavor. I’ve tried other fancy steak houses that charge more than S&W, but none have the same unique and succulent beef flavor of S&W’s steaks. Wished they had a potato au gratin dish as delicious as Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse. Their wonderful Rosemary dinner rolls do make up for it though :)

OK, I’m upping them a star. We celebrated my nephew’s graduation here this past weekend and it was HIS choice to come here.
The food has indeed improved, but the service is still slow and lumbersome. Our section (including our table) had only three tables occupied, so it perplexes me as to why the waitstaff seems glacial in terms of alacrity. Lunches shouldn’t take over two hours to consume.
If someone else is picking up the check, then I’ll eat here — but I will never come back here on my own. Period.

GROSS food. Server didn’t even offer us drinks. Food for 5 took over an hour and a half. Was very underwhelmed.

NY Cut sirloin (on the bone) is something else … One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. This piece was very well seasoned, tender, juicy, & cooked to perfection. It appeared delicious externally and tasted excellently delicious internally. You won’t be disappointed. Yum! Get in my belly
Parking is free. Valet is available. Atmosphere is nice. Get ready to spend about $ 100 per person since the steak itself starts at $ 50+. Worth every penny.

Came here for business meeting. Been here few times (service was superlative) but what seemed to be consistent is inconsistency. Vallet is always great, however, having to wait for 10 minutes for no apparent reason (no initial party ahead) left us plenty of time to gaze upon their ceiling. Thankfully our meeting went well and everyone was happy with steaks and wine. Service check please!

The steaks are just like they are in New York… top notch. I love their wine selection as well.

I’m solo most of the time so I often sit at the bar as I did for this dinner. The bartender was friendly and very professional. Whole experience at the bar was great.
The food was amazing. Truly amazing. Had the filet and it was incredible. The backed potato was easily enough for 2 people (which I think is the intent) and it came with all the topping on the side in a clever serving tier. My whole experience was enjoyable and since I live a mere 2 blocks away, I’ll be back.

The food was descent but not enough for the price. Pappas bros and Vic and Anthony’s is far far better

I had a late ladies’ lunch at this location a couple of weeks ago. I can’t say anything bad about the experience except that the first martini glass the waiter brought me was dirty and the service seemed just a tad slow, but it was mid afternoon… I had the 10 oz filet au poivre and it was perfection! Root vegetables in duck fat, asparagus — all fabulous. My other two friends literally fought over the banana split — I went with the chocolate crème brûlée’. Absolutely wonderful way to spend an afternoon. Oh — and thank GOD for the valet parking — no way to find a spot otherwise!

The food was okay… Once we actually got it. We waited for over an hour for our main course! Not exactly what we had in mind for our Valentine’s Day dinner. The worst part was that the manager was in our dining room the whole time and didn’t come and say anything until we brought the issue to him.
We could have gone anywhere in Houston tonight and chose this restaurant for their amazing carrot cake, which they no longer have on the menu.
This was extremely disappointing dinning experience.

Only come here for the bar area. Restaurant itself is a little bit dated, but the bar is perfect on a beautiful day!
After a few visits to the restaurant, Serg and Nuri, the main bartenders, became the only reason we frequent this place! So hospitable and make us feel like their main priority.

Service: Service here was great I forgot the waiters name but he was awesome. I never had to constantly look around for him if I needed something.
Taste: On my steak scale of a 1 – 5 this place gets a 4. I had the Ribeye with Cajun seasoning and although I should’ve listened to my waiter and got the ribeye without the Cajun seasoning it was still a very tasty and well marbled steak. Next time I’ll try the ribeye without the Cajun seasoning.
I had beef bacon with ranch for my appetizer and it was amazing. Definitely worth trying but I’m warning you the bacon will fill you up quick!
The rosemary bread they give is amazingly soft and buttery you will fall in love with it and probably want to take some to go.
The only two things I don’t like is that they charged me for refills and the hash browns that I got for my side were kinda burnt. Take into consideration that the sides are for two people.
Otherwise then that I’m surprised to see this restaurant have only 3 stars.
Also for a nice view ask to sit upstairs.

A group of us went here for dinner as it was my boyfriend’s birthday. We all loved it! The service was fantastic, food was great. We had no complaints. I think our server’s name was Dre. He was very attentive to us and great!

I deliver on my promises… I told a manager that I was going to give them a Unilocal review, so here it is.
My fiancé and I stopped by for a late lunch here and sat at those high tables near the bar. The place appeared quaint with a few people which I like because I initially believed we would get the service we deserved.
Our server came to us immediately, which was nice. I ordered a raspberry flavored martini of some sort which I wouldn’t ever get again. It tasted like syrup… I should’ve brought it back when it came because it was a dark fuchsia color (implying that the ratio of vodka to other ingredients would be tiny).
My fiancé and I both argue over who is going to order what because we both want the burger with gorgonzola and Cajun seasoning. It was recommended by our server so we figured we couldn’t go wrong. We also ordered the truffle Mac and cheese because it’s cheese and we must’ve had a relationship in my former life.
When we got our burgers, I started eating it immediately… I remembered it was supposed to be «Cajun» seasoned. It was bland. There was cheese, but No flavor to the meat. I waited for my server to return to ask how the food was, but there was a larger party he was told to take special care of – they got to take a drink order, got their drinks, made an appetizer order, and received their appetizers before he came back to us. And we never saw the Mac and cheese in this time. No one else came by for us to talk to anyone (other servers/​managers). When he came back (maybe 25 minutes later) we were done with our burger. He also had the Mac and cheese in his hand. My fiancé told him we no longer wanted it, and I stayed quiet because I was not happy. He comped us the Mac and cheese, but I couldn’t tell you how it tasted because I gave it to a homeless person on our way home.
After we got our check and paid I asked for a manager to discuss the lack of service and quality of food we received. The manager told me he was new so he grabbed another manager for me to talk to. I told them They forced my hand to make a Unilocal review… He then gave me excuses on the food quality. He also told me if I come again they’d «take care of me». Lol… I’m sure you will. Why not take care of me in the moment? Well… I won’t be coming back, and I cannot recommend this place to others.

A step back in the past. The restaurant has a confusing flow to it and is very dated for the area it is in. The smoking from downstairs outside bar filled the rest of the place and we were sitting upstairs! They had just left the front door wide open. The wait staff is very attentive and nice, clean, knowledgeable about the menu, etc. The food was above par, just not worth the money I paid for it. I can get much better truffle Mac and cheese down the street, same amount, at a better cost to my purse. The roasted vegetables were a bit chewy for me and lacking something, but the steak was cooked to my perfection, medium rare. The drink selection was well rounded, a bit pricey, but so is the shopping area around it. The crème brûlée and apple crumble were on point. I would possibly go back in the future, but just for the steak and desserts.

Rapidly moving so all the fish we gathered from Central Market would not be trashed, we called ahead of time and ordered from the bar, 1 BLT, 1 club, failed to ask what the cost would be. Being in a hurry escaped the typical look in the bag and see what you got before you drive off. The valet took some coaxing to allow us to park for all of 5 minutes without charging us, say what?
2 sandwiches, $ 45.00 and that is not in Euros. Got back on the road to discover 1 lobster sandwich and one chicken sandwich, the 60 mile drive home resulted in the fish being fresh but won’t make this mistake twice. I will have my lobster rolls in Maine.

S&W’s was three courses of fun! All of the entrees I chose were delicious. The service is always superb!

This is fine dining at its best! There are a lot of steakhouses to choose from in Houston but Smith and Wollensky is always my top pick. I am always amazed by their attention to detail, excellent customer service, and overall quality of food. The dining experience is made even more spectacular when dining in the main dining room that has a panorama view, especially during the holidays. On this particular Sunday brunch outing we were courteously seated by our hostess and followed by a friendly server. We decided to share a cajun filet mignon because it is generally not a good idea to eat more than 5 oz of meat, asparagus and french fries. This trifecta of food items just pare really well together and is my usual order at any steakhouse. The cajun filet mignon is my favorite slab of meat! I know a great steak doesn’t need seasoning but it doesn’t hurt if you add it. It is a great balance of spiciness! The asparagus is always steamed to perfection and Im not mad at the fries either. A very noteworthy item is also the complimentary brioche style rosemary bread! The only thing that irks me, but is not exclusive to this place, is the size/​price of the soft drinks. This is the standard size you will find at any steakhouse. It is a pricey place but what steakhouse isn’t? If you are going to try any steakhouse I think this is a great starting point!

Came here for lunch to try their HRW menu. We have not been back since we first moved to Houston 2005.
Overall, the foods are average and did not taste as fresh as the other steakhouses.
1. Grilled romaine salad — decent
2. Rib Eye carpaccio — decent
3. Scallops — cooked okay but did not taste fresh
4. 8 oz filet — cooked perfectly but was not flavorful and tasted like it’s turning
5. Mushrooms — side tasted okay
6. Fries — side tasted okay
7. Coconut cake — dry
8. Chocolate cake — okay
We ordered Pellegrino and cocktails. Moscow mule is average. Manhattan did not have the Luxardo cherry based on description so it makes me think the entire drink did not honor the listed ingredients.
Service was average. We will not come back as there are other fabulous steakhouses in Houston. I would NOT recommend going here for food.

This review is for their bar. This is one of the best places in houston for having a nice patio bar with outdoor TVs.
Service is seriously lacking. If you can get a drink they are actually quite good. When the weather is nice this is a great place to come grab a drink and some apps. Came here to watch the NCAA tournament. This place offers a much nicer alternative to most places around houston. You can wear your church dress and no one will get sick on you.

NOV 2013 — Dieses Steakhouse liegt ca. 12 km von Downtown entfernt. Es wurde in der Vergangenheit mehrfach als Spitzenrestaurant ausgezeichnet. Wie fast alles in den USA sind auch die Steaks riesig. Sie sind exelent im Geschmack und genau wie gewünscht zubereitet. Beilagen gibt es in verschiedenen Variationen. Tischdecken sind vorhanden, TV-​Geräte gibt es hier zum Glück nicht. Vorsichtshalber sollte man vorbestellen.
Einen Punktabzug gibt’s für den Tischservice. Bei dieser Preiskategorie sollte man eine optimalere, professienellere Tischbedienung (Teller an den Gast bringen, richtige Gläser zum Getränk) erwarten.
Im Erdgeschoss kann man die Köstlichkeiten an einer Bar genießen.
Alles in allem ist dieses Restaurant empfehlenswert.
