Southwest Mower Service Center

Purchased a Snapper RE100 Riding mower from them. Needed a replacement wheel and was told it takes too long to order a replacement from Snapper and I should try someplace else. Guess what, you get a crappy review and no more of my dollars. I’ve been a customer for 18 years.

I read the negative reviews on this place and decided to use them anyway, they were real close to work, was promised delivery date that was false, so either the parts guy is a liar, or he does not know what he is doing, when I called on the promised date, was told it‘s not here but will call you upon arrival, he did not call. Nor care. When I finally picked up my part, the bearded part guy was really rude and mocked me, now I
understand why the place WAS empty. I‘ll be a little more mindful of reviews now myself

Was told they wouldn’t work on my ‘cheap’ chainsaw, their words. Really?! Couldn’t phrase that any better when speaking to customers? Last time I go there guess they are too good for my money!

Awful and very rude. Bearded man told me they would not fix my weed eater. Said I would be better off buying one of theirs because mine was a throw away. $ 300 throw away? Hmmm.
Stay away!!!

Competitive pricing. Great service. However, can get busy on Saturday in the spring and summer.

This place is a gem of a lawnmower shop. I’m normally the type of person who after x years feels it’s cheaper to throw a non-​working mower (or anything really) away and getting a new one, especially when it’s falling apart and the engine is shot, but thanks to these guys, I’ve been able to squeeze a few more years out of our lawn gear and am surprised at the variety of parts they carry.
Case in point, the fuel line on a leaf Home Depot blower was broken off and I knew the rest of the blower was just fine. I googled around online and it would have cost $ 30 for a piece of rubber tube so I stopped by these guys and boom, they pull out a spool of the stuff, measure what I need and I was on my way after a few bucks. They have a lot of other parts whether it’s blades, O-​rings, spark plugs, etc. too.
I’ve never dropped anything off for repairs but again, that’s a choice you have to make to see whether it’s worth it. As someone who is familiar with service and repairs, I’d imagine nobody wants to be micromanaged so I can understand how they would not be thrilled to be asked what was done after the fact.

Horrible experience today. Took my new Stihl trimmer back to get help with it. I made a negative comment about one of the features and Mike at the hwy 90 location forced me to return it. Totally bummed. I kind of liked it. At Home Depot now to buy a lower quality product. Doesn’t make sense.

Dropped off my Stihl chainsaw for service and when I asked what was done for $ 180 I was told «We wouldn’t put money in a chainsaw unless it was worth it.» No explanation of what was done, nothing. When I told the man behins the counter I was just trying to ask a question about the work I was paying for he went to the back, got my saw, threw it up on the counter, and walked away.
Pretty scary.

I took my lawnmower here when it wouldn’t start in early December 2010. They performed a tuneup and got it running. The following weekend, it wouldn’t start again. Because it was a Sunday and they were closed, I had to wait until Monday to take it back. Monday morning the mower starts, so I quickly mow my lawn before going to work (never did that before) Attempted to use it one month later and it wouldn’t start again. As I never had any previous issues with this mower over the past 8 years, I was getting a little frustrated. Took it back to Southwest Mower and they determined it was a bad starter coil. They replaced it and also tightened up my throttle cable — all free of charge. Picked it up the next day and it ‘s working fine.
Nice customer service (especially David who was very helpful and prompt to call me back with service status). Highly recommend this place.

I had a leaf blower that I couldn’t get the spark plug off of, I had bought a small engine spark plug wrench at Lowes and it wouldn’t work (plus everyone at Lowes is incompetent)…I took my leaf blower into SW mower and they were very nice, they removed the spark plug and gave me a proper spark plug wrench.
I will be taking all of my lawn equipment to them, nice folks and nice store.

I’ve been a customer here for about 10 years and it is a good store to deal with. These people retail more to the professional lawn care person who runs a business. Most of the mowers, edgers, blowers, etc… that they sell are professional grade and very costly.
For the private individual who wants to just maintain their own lawn they offer service just as good as for the pro. They seem to specialize in Echo and Honda products of which they stock many of the parts for.
Labor rates are reasonable and they try not to upsell you when you need something done to fix your machines.
The only bad thing about SW Mower is that they will not touch Ryobi brand products because they are not an authorized dealer and do not want to even get involved with repairs. Most all small engine equipment works on the same principles so for non-​warranty work they should go ahead and service all makes and models.
Oh, and there is always a house cat sleeping on the parts counter which is great.
