Sparkle Dry Cleaners

Very convenient location, incredibly nice people, but everything that I’ve ever brought here has never been ready when it was supposed to be (easily plus an extra 4 – 8 days, each time).

Had a not so positive experience here.
1^st time ever getting my shoes 1 pair of Allen Edmond and another of Cole Haan cleaned. Maybe I should have gone to the shoe hospital instead, but I assumed it can’t be that hard to clean, condition, and polish shoes.
She asked for a 2 day turn around time. I was fine with that. They’re busy I get it. Two days later I come and they’re still not done. She offers to deliver it by 4 because that’s when I get off. Comes around 4:30, I’m not there.
On the following Monday they finally deliver it and I would have been fine with this delay in their service cause stuff happens. However the shoe cleaning job they did was not very impressive. Looks like they didn’t even use a shoe tree when polishing the shoes as there’s distinct unevenness between the creases and the rest of the shoe. White smudge markings on the back of my shoe. I don’t recommend this place for shoe cleanings. Maybe their dry cleaning service is a little better but I wish I looked at the reviews for this place before going.

This is the only dry cleaner I have used that actually ruined my clothes. My clothes came back to me literally a different color with creases (wrinkles) pressed into them that I’ve been unable to get out. Although I thought it would be convenient to have a dry cleaner downtown where I work, it’s not worth losing your shirt or tie for the mere convenience. The store offered nothing to make up for this and I ended up having to pay the full amount just for them ruining my clothes.

This is a great place to drop off your shirts to be cleaned and pressed. Nice, if very direct, customer service, convenient location
I like to have nice ironed dress shirts, and I travel for work every week. This means I wash and fold at home, and then iron every morning in my hotel. This dry cleaner and laundry is in the McKinney Tunnel under the office building where I am currently working, and I thought I’d give them a try at $ 1.98 a shirt. It actually comes to a little over $ 2 per shirt with tax.
I dropped off 4 shirts on the Thursday before I left for home, and picked them up on the Monday that I returned the next week. The fact that they are not a same day service doesn’t matter to me. The fact that now I save 10 to 15 minutes of ironing every morning is worth the $ 2.
My only complaint is around the credit card policy. It’s a $ 10 limit, so I need to drop off 5 shirts each week in order to use my card. Since I carry very little cash with me, when I travel, this is something I need to plan for in the future.

SUMMARY: Went to this place for a simple hem, tuck the waist, and sleeves. They balked three times in delivery, and then didn’t even finish the job causing me to bring it back. One of the worst tailors I’ve been to — so bad in fact I chose to write a review.
Bought a suit from Jos A. Bank last week on Mon, needed it tailored by EOD Thursday. Jos was backed up about 2 weeks w their tailor and recommended Sparkle to get the job done, as it was in the tunnels.
Sparkle rushed the fitting as they seemed pretty busy and told me the suit would be ready Weds afternoon. Went to pick it up weds and they hadn’t even started, it was as if it slipped their mind.
They then said it’d be ready Thurs morning, so I came to pick it up at 11am. Still wasn’t finished — was still on the rack. They then said to come back in an hour or so and it’d be ready.
I came back, picked it up, then about 2:30 got a call from them saying the jacket wasn’t finished. What?! They forgot to close a seem in one of the sleeve’s liners. Said that they were close to closing time and would take care of it next week. Unacceptable, brought it back to them to finish quickly, which they did.

So I decided to come back to this place just to give it another try, and the lady remembered me not being happy with last transaction. So with the next job I specifically informed the guy what and how I wanted. I think the key thing here is to be patient because I think I was in a rush to get a few skirts done fast. When I got back my skirt, I was pleased with the work done. I would recommend this place with its friendly service but just make sure to be real specific on what you want and to take your time in informing the guy how you want.
