I like Sur La Table but I find it a little intimidating. I don’t think my cooking skills are high enough for some of the items in there and I don’t feel comfortable asking the staff about the items. The staff is a little stand offish — if you know what I mean.(like — they are nice but they are just there for their paycheck). I go there for certain items not to browse. I buy my item and I leave.

This is one of our favorite spots to splurge on our household. We love wandering through this store looking at all of the high-end, and often hard to find, kitchenware and cooking items. The selection of chef’s knives hanging from the wall is stunning, and there is always a new little gadget to catch our eye. We don’t always leave with a purchase, but when we do it is sure to be a fun little something-or-other that we can’t wait to try out in the kitchen at home. This store is even entertaining to our three year old son, although we do have to grab his hand every now and then so he doesn’t hurt himself or create a miniature mountain of Le Creuset colored rubble on the floor. That would be disastrous. Overall a great store that we enjoy very much, even though it is on the pricey side.

So many attendants yet I had to flag someone down. As soon as I picked up a pricey item all of a sudden everyone wants to help. I was told«let them know at the register that I helped you.»…Ummm, no, you didn’t. Had it not been for the attentive cashier Kelly, I would’ve given a two star rating. She was very friendly toward my children and met my son’s desire for his own shopping bag for his hot chocolate mix. I believe it’s because of Kelly that my children said«I like this place. I’d like to come back.» Thank you for your kind customer service Kelly!

Sur La Table remains one of my favorite kitchen stores. The address on the map has been corrected, so all can now clearly see exactly where this store is. I stop in every once in a while when I’m in the area and I invariably purchase something — some THING — for this store emits a siren song that I somehow can’t tune out. The cook’s tools here are superior to anything I’ve found locally, rivaling only the variety you can find online. I’m not talking about expensive, goofy stuff, either; I’m mainly referring to the practical spatulas, scrapers, basting brushes, spreaders and similar items — and they are generally all heat-resistant with no metal parts(so they’re safe for non-stick surfaces). As I(and others) have stated before, some of the items in the store are quite pricey. However, if you shop their sales, you’ll find wonderful items for great prices. Large, beautifully decorated ceramic serving dishes and bowls, custard cups, pie plates, pasta bowls, covered woks. .. so much! Currently their summer sale is going on, so most of their«outdoor» cooking and dining items were reduced by as much as 75%; many of their tablecloths and kitchen towels were also drastically reduced(these are similar in quality to the Williams Sonoma linens). I scored a beautiful 2-piece set of ceramic bakers(an 11×7 dish and a 13×9 dish) for $ 17.99 today. Tip from one of their always helpful employees: new stock arrives on Thursdays, so new markdowns on current stock is always done on Thursday morning. If you are able, hit up the store Thursday in the morning to get the best selection of all of their clearance items. I had a really good time this morning, and the selection of sale items was indeed phenomenal.

Great stuff for the cook or chef. Wish this location had cooking classes like in Midtown! But they have a lot of cool stuff and once in awhile you can get your knives sharpened free. Good deals on clearance items but regular items can be pricey.

I love tasting great food and singing the praises of those that cook. But put me in a place full of cookware and I get just downright nervous. «Santa» came here with a mission: to buy Christmas gifts. Located just behind Rockfish on 1960, it’s a much smaller Sur La Table than other SLTs that I’ve been to. It was busy and there were plenty of customers for the staff to help out. They were friendly and patient to help(Santa does not reveal what he picked up in this review). He was in and out in 10 minutes. What this means boys and girls: because I, er, «Santa» found what he needed, I will again benefit from great cooking. Ho, ho, ho!!!
