Taco Cabana

I love Tex Mex and I like Taco Cabana. I received coupons in the mail and I happened to be on the northwest side of town near 610 and 290. We decided to go to the location off of 610 and Shepherd. The floors were sticky as we walked in. The staff was very nice and friendly but they didn’t have any margarita available because their margarita machine wasn’t working. We went to go sit down and there was a caution sign over a spill that stayed there our entire visit with what looked like not intention on cleaning it any time soon. We looked for a table but there weren’t any clean tables. We had to clean off a table just so we could sit. It was not that there were several patrons there. There were actually only 2 other families in there. When we received the food it was not the good food I was used to at Taco Cabana. I was very disappointed and other members of my family held that attitude that this is what you get when you use a coupon at an establishment. I refuse to accept that just because you use a coupon you should get subpar service. I’ve been to other Taco Cabana establishments with delicious food and much cleaner restaurants. The health department should definitely look in to this location.

Consistently the slowest service. Food is cabana quality but they really drag their feet (especially drive thru in the morning)

BAD SERVICE and BAD ATTITUDES. Asked for beef quesadillas and received chicken. Handed them back and they still gave me chicken. Then they always ask you to drive forward in the drive through line and they forget to hand you your drink. So you end up walking inside only to have employees roll their eyes at you for stopping them to fix their own mistake. Call to talk to a manager because this has happened 5 times to me and they are rude and could care less that what YOU as a customer paid for was messed up by their employees carelessness. If you want BAD customer service and something different than what you asked for… then come to this Taco Cabana. They really don’t give a rip.

I love TC but this one has gone downhill.
I think they are understaffed and have a manager that may need support… I don’t blame the staff… these people work hard and make a tortilla you would want as a pillow.
Sunday about 11:30 AM… breakfast. No line and only 5 tables filled?!
1. Dirty ordering counter
2. Dirty floors
3. No napkins
4.We had to clean our own table (must be understaffed)
5. 3 hrs after I ate I had «intestinal» problems for the rest of the day.
(Don’t ever get «fajita» meat here)

Avoid the street tacos, the meat inside them doesn’t look like it should be consumed by dogs much less humans.

After a 10-​hour shift on your feet at a bar, it’s easier to justify stuffing your face with something cheesy and fatty right before you go to sleep, just as the rest of America is waking up.
Thanks for being there for me when I needed that cheesy, fatty mess the most, Taco C. Thanks for having a staff serve hot, fresh fast food– and not mediocre, lukewarm BS– on January 25^th.
Surprisingly in the middle of the night (morning?), these guys served up some hot, melty enchiladas with some damn perfect rice. Oh, and I even get tortillas with this for no reason at all? Hell yeah.
Nope, no grass fed beef o’er here, but at 0430, a compromise with some Taco C ain’t a bad thing… Just something that tastes pretty damn perfect at 4:30AM, regardless of which side of the bar you find yourself on.

These people are complete and illiterate idiots. Even Martha the manager can’t get an order correct. They don’t know the difference between chicken and beef. The restroom is so nasty and always smells.

If I had a choice they would get no stars a fast food restaurant isn’t supposed to take an hour and I have to go to work too if u could get out of the line and drive off and eat nothing instead I would so they have no one here to make sure u get your food

There’s nothing really special about this location. The employees are very friendly but whenever I order from the drive thru, I’m always missing something from my order. The happy hour margaritas are always either hit or miss.

Corn tortillas, ladies! Corn! This is the 3^rd time in weeks that I asked for corn but was given flour! I hate the thick, lousy, flour tortillas! Yuck!
So, I must drop your rating from 5 to 3. Mediocre!

One star because they were open. Unfortunately they are the ones «out to lunch». Never again this location. Hit or miss all the times I have came to this place. Today there was a significant problem with cleanliness. Health violations used to be taken care of when Marvin Zindler was alive. Now it’s just a crap shoot as to what you get in your food.

When I was in college, there was a TC right next to campus that was open late. I remember a many nights after going out, stumbling in and grabbing food and walking back home feeling wonderful. Well this location reminds me of the similar feeling. It was minutes away from my apartment and it stayed open late so after drinking at one of the many bars across the street at 34^th and shepherd you could end the night here.
My always go to item is the cabana bowl. This thing is a classic, and never seems to fulfill my cravings. The pineapple salsa is delicious. It’s not fine dining, but it’s affordable and fast.

Poor customer service, disorganized operations, frantic overwhelmed staff, and butter??? In the breakfast tacos? Disgusting. I have been to this taco cabana for years to get large amounts of tacos for my staff. I have always been disappointed in the service and the wait time. Today I took my son to taco cabana at his request. We ordered two tacos and waited over 15 minutes for them. I gave them the benefit of the doubt because they seemed to be busy. Turned out they weren’t busy, just very disorganized. Upon alerting them that our order was so delayed, the gentleman behind the counter simply huffed and said he had no idea about anything about my order. Classy. Once we got them, they tasted disgusting as there was more better than eggs or bacon.

Your typical Taco Cabana. Expect your standard Taco Cabana food and environment. However, what makes this particular location stands out is probably the service. Yes; the service. I came here for a to-​go order and I was pleasantly surprised that my experience here from ordering, to waiting, and getting my food was a good one. The cashier was very polite and was always smiling. The salsa bar was fully stocked, fresh, and clean. And the person who handed me my order was also delightful.
I’m not a big fan of Taco Cabana because I think Chaco’s offers a better value for your money, but the service at Chaco’s is nowhere near what this particular Taco Cabana has to offer. I might have to add this location to one of my regular lunch spots.

New Year’s Day.
Rainy and cold.
We decided on this place and to our surprise, the staff was so friendly. The food was better than expected. The staff was very attentive. Loved it. I will definitely come back.

Well, I’ve only been to the drive-​thru of this particular location, but it was just fine. In fact, the staff member at the window was perhaps kinder than most.
The food was standard (and delicious). There might be something wrong with me, but I just love TC’s tortillas, soft ground beef tacos, and especially their queso! It’s all so salty though — be prepared to drink lots of water after your delicious meal.

This has kind of become my breakfast spot of choice when heading out to College Station for an Aggie game with my man. Right on the freeway, quick and easy.
I always prefer to go inside instead of the diver through because CONDIMENTS! I always have half of my tray full of them. Cilantro! Pineapple salsa! NOM! The simple bean and cheese breakfast taco is probably my favorite, followed by the barbacoa with pico added.
