Went here for Cinco de Mayo. They overcharged me 25% of my bill for no apparent reason. The food is extremely expensive. Total rip-off — the tacos are very small too. Everyone in my party was overcharged as well. Food quality was not up to par with the prices. Save your money and go to a fine restaurant, you’ll end up paying about the same(maybe even less) and you won’t get questionable food out of a TRUCK.

Horrible experience at the Japanese Festival they over charged me for food I didn’t even eat because they ran out of everything plus a 20% fee no one makes you aware of. I contacted this food truck I was being polite and patient and after a week of not solving the issue they email me saying they will not refund me the overcharge. As far as the food it was terrible. They were selling skewers of questionable meat with some bag rice and gyoza which it was more like cheap dumplings from a cheap grocery store. This is a rip off . Updated*** The owner did contact me and credited back my account

Taco trucks in Houston are a dime a dozen nowadays, so you really have to do something to stand out from the crowd. Taco Nuts definitely does — in the absolute wrong way. After reviewing my credit card bill several days after a night out on the town, I noticed that was I charged 20% more than I expected from the prices I paid. This is apparently due to some bogus CC charge they add on. I’m sure there’s a notice of this on the truck itself, but given that the truck is decorated in typical style with a million bumper stickers, you don’t get to know this easily. However, if they don’t have a notice, I feel like this has to be HIGHLY illegal. The food itself? Unremarkable. They’re small tacos you’re overpaying for the«convenience» of it being nearby a bar. The elotes? Tastes like corn. I cannot recommend more heavily to run away from this truck as fast as possible should you see it, or they’ll find some way to siphon 20% of your debit card balance just for the privilege of being near them, considering that’s how entitled they must feel in overcharging their customers.

Horrible experience. After I fished ordering, the lady at the window tells me my total is $ 26. Later to find out I was charged $ 31.50! I then asked her why I was told my «total» was $ 26 but charged 31.50 and she tells me that there is a 20% charge for credit card usage! Are you kidding me? It is ridiculous that I was told about this after I already paid for it. The food it self, not anything to brag about. What you can expect from here is, 1: overpriced food 2: 20% ripoff charge and 3: descent food.

Generally a bad experience. The staff wasn’t very pleasant, the tacos were cold, the meat was questionable at best, the portions are tiny, and the price was way too high. Save your money, and find another truck. There are so many better options.

Tried this truck at Brash Brewery and omg it was absolutely delicious! The guy working the window suggested the avocado tacos and they were amazing! I’m a new fan!

Stopped in at about 3pm & was expecting to be turned away d/t the time. So things got off to a good start when we were greeted w/a warm smile. Intending no offense, I casually inquired as to the type of tacos they served by asking«are these like Tex-Mex tacos?» «Oh no!» was the reply from the bearded man behind the window. This being my 1st trip to the fine est., we opted for a little of everything. We took advantage of their 3 for 10 taco deal: 1 pork, 1 chicken, &1 beef w/a Mtn. Dew. Considering myself a fan, definitely not an officionado, of the food truck scene, I have to admit that I was unimpressed. From an aesthetic standpoint, the place was«green across the boards.» They had the graffiti on the truck, the music, the swagger, all of it was perfect. But what they lacked was seasoning. I found the need to be the most flavorful of the trio but found it to be quite dry. The chicken & pork were way too bland. Almost as if the garnishes were the only source of spice/flavor. But to clarify, the people running the truck were cool peeps and nothing personal, but the tacos were too bland. They were very reasonably priced but just bland. But that’s just 1 man’s opinion. Caught them at the Art Museum. Food trucks are there regularly. Eat on!

It wasn’t the worst taco I’ve had, but for the price it wasn’t good. My chicken taco tasted mainly like chicken and canned corn. Not quite sure if they forgot salsa or something else that was supposed to be on it, but I wouldn’t go back.

Horrible do not eat there. Chicken taco was can meat, pork taco was pork from a bag and the beef was just as bad. $ 10 down the drain.

Caught this Food Truck at 2015 Houston Japan Festival. And I don’t suggest it being invited next year as it was one of the most over-priced rip offs(and there are FEW at Japan Festival). The meat skewers at $ 7 should have had no less than three and with a sauce. Very let down by Taco Nutz. They should not be a vendor representing Houston Food Trucks.

So good. These tacos are so juicy, flavorful, and are the perfect meal. I had the beef a chicken tacos. Although the chicken tacos were good my favorite was the beef tacos. Just be sure to get lots of napkins when you eat these.

Over priced. Plus they tipped themselves on top of that… So check your bank account.

My first ever taco truck, having read in t’interverse that this was one of the best, I was excited. Gourmet tacos, $ 3 for $ 10? Not bad pricing at all. Chicken, beef and pork. I wasn’t bowled over. They were grand and the meat was fairly tasty it they were sloppy and even though they were double tortilla-d they were so wet they were mushy. Maybe I’m just a regular trashy taco girl, vs gourmet, but I expected more from here!

I tried the chicken taco. The taco was Overly salted, falling apart, and confused. Also, it cost $ 4.00.
I have a real question and I hope someone who has worked or is currently working for this truck can give me an answer. Do you all used canned chicken? I also had the usually delicious, very hard to mess up Cup of Corn. I have had this street staple numerous times from other vendors. Basically, if you like obscene amounts of nutmeg in your corn, this is the dish for you. Basically this truck is a mix of confused authentic Mexican fusion and terrible. This is my third trip to this truck. I really tried to like it. Three strikes your out in my book. Obviously, I do not recommend this truck.

So, rude. I thought the elote was a little steep and the guy in the truck informed me that jack in the box has 2 tacos for 99 cents & pretentiously mentions that its one of the best food trucks in Houston. That was one of the worst things I’ve stepped in front of. He could have swayed our view of the price instead belittled me for having an opinion about the price.

The tacos were totally delicious, but salty as a fucking bitch. Each taco must’ve had at least a day’s worth of salt. If I hadn’t even delightfully tipsy, they might’ve been inedible-though as I was several drinks in, I must admit I totally enjoyed them despite the asinine levels of sodium. My blood pressure is still recovering.

WARNING! HEALTHALERT! Usually I don’t write reviews, but I feel a great need to inform the public about Taco Nuts. What started as a run-of-the-mill Tuesday lunch break at work turned into a complete nightmare for myself and one of my coworkers. We love going to MyFoodParkHTX on 800 Hwy 6 South on our break because it’s super close and always has a wide variety of food. Yesterday I ordered the Don Chancho Suave that is made with pork carnitas, coleslaw and lime sauce. I’ve gotten it before, and it’s usually delicious, but this time, it tasted a little funny. Two hours after arriving back at the office, I am running from my desk to the bathroom with the world’s most painful cramping, vomiting and… well… other bodily functions I won’t mention. My husband had to pick me up from work and take me to the hospital where I started recovering from the WORSTCASEOFFOODPOISONING I have ever had. This completely ruined my day, and I found out today my coworker had to leave after lunch due to sickness as well, and she is still not back at work. I am in the process of contacting the Board of Health to get this truck checked out. Very scary stuff. If you cherish your health, don’t eat here!

Definitely Delicious. 77006 Burrito and their Vegetarian friendly tacos is what we had. let me start off with that the burrito is HUGE, almost 10 inches of goodness. Juicy Pulled Pork w/Fritos, cheese, potatoes. It was honestly a party in my mouth. I was really impressed with his customer service as well. We went up to the window as he was fixing to leave, he catered to us and started up the grill to accommodate us. This is a huge leap over your traditional bland taqueria. Check em out.
