Great taste, good servings, good price. I visited this place for the first time on Friday and I was surprised in how much flavor there was in the Mexican rice, charro beans and chicken. The flour tortillas tasted fresh and the flavor was also good. I ordered the Chicken Palenque Bowl. The drive thru could be faster and they would have 5 starts from me. Overall, I’m a fan and will be back.

If you’re hungry don’t go through their drive — thru ordered six tacos had to wait thirty minutes still didn’t have it ready. It’s not rocket science it’s tacos for crying out loud!!! Their service needs improvement! I do have to say the tacos were very tasty. If I go again I won’t be starving for sure.

I eat here about once a week because it’s local and a favorite. However I believe today is the last day. My ice and my wife’s ice both had flies in them. I caught it after I finished my drink and began to eat the ice… Yuck! I told my wife to check her cup and sure enough she had them in her drink too. Too disgusting… I hope they do a better job but today was the last day I eat there.

This place is always consistent in the fresh food it serves. It is a lot better than the Mexican taco places around town that people tend to go for fast food. For example, their salsa bar is diverse and rich with flavors and colors: chopped pico de gallo, avocado green salsa, grilled dark salsas, grilled jalapeños, fresh cucumbers, limes radishes and much more! They also provide with totopos or «chips». The portions are double of what you’d expect, so try one of each, instead of two of each; otherwise you’ll have leftovers to take home. I always get the«pirata», which is a beef fajita taco served with refried beans and cheddar cheese on 2 flour tortillas. Add some lime, green salsa and you are good to go! Plus, the place is very spacious and clean with the friendliest staff! In my opinion, that makes a difference. Salud!

Mediocre tacos. Nice guacamole salsa! The Panchos were pretty good. Interior was very fast food looking and the atmosphere really laid back. Will try other items if I go again.

We have these down in the Rio Grande Valley and they are always packed, especially when the bars/clubs let out. We came to Houston to attend a touring rock show downtown. I found out that Houston had a Taco Palenque, but we would have to make trip out of it to get there. The food is worth the drive. For the price and quality, you cannot beat this fast food place. We were surprised that this place barely had any customers. Maybe people, don’t realize it is here or exists because this place beats all those other mexican overnight chains in the area. They are open 24⁄7 and EVERY day of the year. Highly recommended!

I trekked here with my sister – she was dying to try some mole. Since Taqueria del sol didn’t have any my sister insisted that we try this place out. It’s near the Concord Apartments that’s by the HEB. The building used to be a bank – that’s why back in 2006 and 2007 I didn’t see it. Now, this restaurant seems like fast food, but it felt very odd eating here. Kinda felt like I was in some movie eating from a fast food joint that isn’t really chained. Great feeling, actually. We walked up to the counter to order and the cashier standing there just staring at us – she didn’t look as if she spoke English, but she was staring at us as if we were mute. Then, the manager – Frank came to our rescue. He asked us if this was our first time visiting and we politely said, «Yes!» He then became happy. He started grinning really hard and showed us the popular dishes on the menu. My sister ordered the plate with mole and I got a combo with Spanish noodle soup, 2 tacos, and a drink. As we sat down to wait for our food to come out. Frank came to our table to tell us that the chips are homemade and free, the dips were free and homemade, and the drinks had a free refill. I was thinking, wow everything is so free. I like that. a lot! The food was so delicious. Everything tasted so fresh. Frank checked on us again. We started chatting about how late the restaurant stayed open. From 6am to 1:30am: that’s good for college students or late night eaters. He was eager to meet two Blacks – I’m guessing all he sees is Hispanics. Frank was very friendly, welcoming, and made my sister and I feel like we were at home. They have a drive-thru too! They have 2 Spanish drinks: Horchata and Jamaica. The Horchata literally tastes like Christmas to me because of the amount of cinnamon. Also, the Jamaica is the nectar from a Hibiscus flower. It had a light taste to it – definitely not overly sweet. I will say this place beats Taco Bell and Taco Cabana any day of the week. If you are looking for fresh authentic Spanish food, but with the fast food feel to it – come check this place out. It may be a little pricey, but the food doesn’t taste like trash.

This place is kinda on the expensive side, but everything is made fresh when ordered. I ordered at lunch time, my sister had combo #2 which is not on the menu it was $ 5.99. It includes a drink of choice and I had the chicken enchiladas mole it was $ 7.99 and drink was $ 1.89 everything came out to be $ 17 for two. Combo #2 was 2 burritos and fideo soup(noodle soup) & complimentary tortillas. My meal was chicken enchiladas it included 3 enchiladas Mole drizzled on top, Mexican rice with peas, lettuce & chopped tomatoes, 2 chips, and refried beans. The tortilla chips are all homemade at Taco Palenque and are free with your order along with a variety of sauces. Drink of choice is either soft drinks, Horchata, Jamaica made with a hibiscus flower, tea, coffee, or an alcoholic beverage. The manager was very friendly to me and my sister, he was kind of our waiter he waited on our every need. He told us of how Taco Palenque been established there for 4 years, the lobby area is open from 6a — 12a and how the drive thru window is open 24 hour. For anyone craving Mexican food in the late nights and early mornings. How amazing is that? The food tasted so fresh especially the torilla chips. The mole was delicious sort of sweet and the chicken was tender. Everything was great. I definitely will be back, service was excellent lots of friendly people here and the Horchata wasn’t too sweet.

Went here twice, I wasn’t impressed. One was for dine-in and the other for drive thru. It sounds like a restaurant, but it is a fast food place. The food is overpriced, everything is served on styrofoam plates and the condiment bar is messy. People drop salsa into the pico de gallo or mix jalapenos with onions etc. Gross. The drive thru, again expensive and the fajitas were hard. I live less than 5 minutes away and have no desire to ever come back. Oh, and if you think this is «good Mexican food», you need to get out more.

This place was packed when I drove in. I ordered a flour with beef fajita to go which is exactly I received. I noticed the fresh toppings on the way out and grabbed one. Service is fast, I was given a number and took a seat. Before I had to chance my voicemail, my order was ready. The flour tortilla is homemade and made just right for me. They do give you plenty of beef. If you want to add toppings, they have tons of them before you walk out. The only downside was the price which was $ 3.99 without tax. I could probably eat one more, though this just right since I have to stay awake for the rest of the class today. I did look in my bag hoping there was something else for me, and only found some napkins.

Extensive selection of tacos and other dishes, from a family owned regional(Texas) chain. This is the only location in Houston, so if you’re flying in or out of Hobby Airport, you should definitely take advantage of it. Especially since their drive-thru is open 24 hours a day! The condiment station is ridiculously extensive, and all the tortillas are made by hand. Probably in my top three places in Houston for casual Mexican eating!

Maaaaaaaaaaan hold up!!! LOL Why didn’t anyone tell me about this place!!! And WHYWHYWHY isn’t there one of these on the north side??? :-( So I only had 1 breakfast taco, but it was pretty dayum good! I ate that taco yesterday & I was driving to work today dreaming about that dayum taco!!! I ordered a chorizo & bean taco & some pico for the side. The tortilla was OMG fresh! I like the fact they used 2 thinner fresh made flour tortillas vs. 1 of those pita style thick store bought ones other places use. I wanted to go back & get a dozen just for the house! The filling of bean & chorizo was perfect! I could taste the chorizo in every bite & I could tell the beans were well seasoned, which is a bonus that you don’t get everywhere. There was just enough grease to let you know you had real deal Hollifield chorizo & beans… just a hint of red-orange-ish juices coming thru that hot fresh velvety tortillia. And there was plenty of filling. They weren’t skimpy at all. At 1st I thought I made a mistake of ordering only 1 taco, but when I saw it… taco will do the trick. And for freakin $ 0.99!!! How could you go wrong??? I’m going to have to figure out a way to get on this side of town so I can try their other items bc I’m over here geekin like a fiend for another one of those dayum tacos!!!
