Tacos El Porton

Live music ranchera style. The place has plenty of sitting. It’s Sunday about 6pm and there are several families and some couples too. I got a booth with the ripped seat and have been informed they are out of chips. On the live music, might be amateur night. Food just arrived. It tastes delicious. Already forgot about the ripped seat and the singing. 1 octopus taco, warm and delicious. The corn tortillas are the best. The beef tacos are flavorful with cooked onions, cactus and charro beans. Soooo goood. So far so good, but then I called my waitress to order some more food and 10 minutes later she was not back. the place was not full but after 10 minute wait I was and left the place. Kind of a dive, but fi you’re around and can live with bad service do stop by

Cruising Jensen St one day and stumbled upon this place. Across the street from a huge Value Village in a little strip mall. I speak no Spanish and that would have helped. But when it comes to food, we all speak the same language. Ordered 3 tacos and charro beans. The beans were outstanding. Full of pieces of meat and fat. But watch out for the bones! The al carbon tacos were very good. I will have to try more things here. The menu is huge and full of good traditional dishes. A lot of fish dishes.
