Taj Hall

As a sometimes frequent attendee of multiple intercultural events through the city… I’ve observed people flow, audio and stage pageantry are key elements to run an event.
So I’m giving this establishment 4 stars just because this is the best laid out banquet floor plan for a Desi space in the Houston metroplex I’ve enjoyed as a guest… and the lighting and staging was not over the top but tasteful. (I have no experience how management operates or engages the party celebrants hosting the event — so humbly take my observations at face value.
This special place looks to be a large Desi space for any happy celebratory need large or super size you may require.
The space had different zones.
The area for this Congolese reception had its own building accessible through a lit and gated courtyard.
Insides Detail: Great layout for buffet flanked on the left side of the room, spacious for hundreds of elevated sterno warming trays. Really. (there were with room to spare) The hosts commented the facility allows you to bring in your own traditional foods (bonus); and that makes things so much simpler as this was a very large Congolese wedding reception complete with a dizzying array of traditional Congolese entrees and regional specialities.
As a side note, Congolese food is similar but not the same as Burundi or Nigerian food. In fact for you hot sauce aficionados, Congo spices are served as a relish (which is delicious and doesn’t taste hot) and used sparingly nonetheless. The personal physical effect the relish had on me was an experience in dining I won’t soon forget, not so much perspiring profusely, I did some, more evident ten minutes later when every breath I subsequent took later felt like shards of glass. But yes, I’d eat the relish again.
Back to the interior:
* Multicolored floor «runway» for the entering happy couple.
* An illuminated and decorated stage with drapery and decorative columns to create a special honored space for the wedding party and attendants banquet.
* Over the top speaker system to handle the heavy base notes of a multifaceted intercultural music program in Swahili and French.
The Short of It: The space is humble and expansive, with incredibly large round tables. I sat at a round guest table of ten people; and the host said 500 folk were invited.
More came. Really.

I’ll start by saying, I am picky and when I am paying good money for something, I expect it be exactly how I expect. They blew away and exceeded every expectation I had.
We live in Austin and were planning a party in Houston. We visited Taj Hall per a friend’s recommendation. We met with Ash, the person makes the «magic happen».
I explained what we wanted but told them I wasn’t a visual person so I would need help. They showed us so many different options, so many pictures of previous events, and took their time explaining things and giving me different options.
We selected our chair covers, sashes, table décor, napkin designs, colors, decorations, and food. I had to communicate with Ash via email and text most of the time because we live in another city than the event and each time I contacted him, he was thorough and very responsive.
We had 155 adults and around 20 kids at our event and I was nervous not seeing what the room would look like prior to arriving from Austin. When I walked in, it was as if I was dreaming. It was EXACTLY how I had hoped and MORE. The decorations were perfect, the temperature of the room was perfect, the staff were friendly, courteous, helpful, and worked hard to make sure our event well well. Ash was there in case we needed anything but honestly, everything ran like a well oiled machine.
They are true professionals and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Taj Hall to anyone for any event.
Amazing service, fantastic food, and incredibly wonderful people to work with. If I wasn’t already married, I would get married all over again and have it at Taj Hall.
