I have the 6 oz. cheeseburger combo every chance I get! Fresh, toasted buns made in-house! They have a veggie bar so you can dress your burger how you want it. Great place for lunch. If you’re on a time crunch, call and place your order before you get here, it’ll take less than 10 min!

Very delicious burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches in this unassuming restaurant. The homemade and grilled buns are delicious and the fries are cooked to crunchy perfection.

It’s close to work so i thought why not… and i wanted to grab a bite and get back to work quickly. I had the 6oz burger with bacon and cheese with some onion rings. So I grab a seat and wait. and wait. and wait. So much for a quick bite, but I noticed from the to go menu, they bake their own buns. I didn’t know that and now I am liking this. Then i get called up for my lunch and, no onion rings. When i said I ordered onion rings she said it doesn’t come with the combo. I replied i didn’t order the combo she said«no you didn’t order onion rings.» That being said i moved along. They did have a small build your own burger style condiment counter… lettuce tomato, pickles, peppers ect. When i got back to my desk is when it really went wrong. The fries sadly were frozen at some point, but the burger in that amazing, soft and yea that baby was fresh bun… had a «I’ve been cooked with fish» flavor to it. Well maybe they do good seafood, but it won’t be me finding out.

I have been passing by the sign for about a year now, and just today I decided to go with a group from my job during lunch. I hadn’t gone before because I thought it was inside of the gas station and I… well…that itself was a turn off. A guy I work with goes to this joint at least 3 times a week for lunch and when a group said they were going today, I couldn’t resist. I agree with my fellow reviewer, the location is a bit sketchy… there is an Adult Video store in the same strip. Anyway upon entering, I was pleasantly surprised by the overall cleanliness. I have extreme OCD and could feel myself hyperventilating as we parked. However, the floors, tables, fresh fixings bar, etc were all SPOTLESS!!! That was a gigantuous plus for me!!! I did not check out the bathroom so I can’t comment on that. But from the looks of the front, I am sure it is just as well kept. There were 5 of us…3 got cheeseburgers and fries, 1 got catfish and fries, and I got shrimp fried rice. The rice was okay… nothing stood out about it that makes me want to give you more to go off of, other than it left alot to be desired. Mambo’s is better, but still Mambo’s isn’t the best either. Nonetheless, I am still on my tireless quest for good fried rice. I ordered a medium portion, ate half and put the rest in the fridge to take home and«doctor up» later myself. My coworker that got the fish said it was«good» and the others that got burgers — they didn’t’ t say a word. I am not sure if it was because they were in a stupor from being full or what(the size of the burger was pretty big). They just ate quietly, tidied up, and started back working at their desks(oh yeah… we ordered ours to-go). I didn’t hear an «mmmm» or a smack or anything. I didn’t see burger juice running down any of their wrists, or mayo oozing from the sides of their mouths. Very strange — I was hoping someone would say something. Anything to satisfy my curiosity!!! But they didn’t. So, I will go back and try a burger for myself, gosh darnit! Give them a try. It was quiet, clean, reasonably priced and palatable. I think I will try one more time, then quit.

Good burger joint. Super fresh buns and homestyle patties. Not as good as 5 Guys but just as good as Fudds. $ 8 got me a 8oz cheeseburger, fries and drink. Will be back.

Ok, the only review posted at the time this review was written was 2 years old, so here’s a more recent look. Short version goes as follows… Location: sketchy Conditions: surprisingly clean given the area Cost: average Quality: fresh Clientele: very diverse The detailed version is as follows… Not sure about the all night barber shop a previous review mentioned, but the adult video store is still going strong(I guess that might be discouraging for some of you and convenient for the rest of you). Gone is the 3.95 meal deal Hank mentioned in his 2009 review — a 4oz deal(burger, fries, and drink) is 4.99, 6oz is 5.99, and 8oz is 6.89. The buns are grilled and soooo soft, not sure if they bake them on site or buy them but they’re super fresh! Fixins bar lives on. They also offer some poboys, fried seafood, and a few other things. The dining area was extremely clean, and the bathroom was very well kept. The green and brown, chocolate mint themed paint job on the wall was tacky and not what I expected from a place called Texas Burger, Express but oh well. There were business men, laborers, county workers, and a pair of ladies I suspect might have been hookeeerrrr, I mean working girls. All in all, if you’re craving a good burger and you’re in the area it’s worth a try. Look for the American flags outside(again, not something I’d expect from a place called TEXAS Burger Express)
