This is the 3rd year that Texas Lunar Festival being held at Alief Amity Park. Prior to here, it was at the Southern News Group’s parking lot. I remember it was extremely challenging to find parking and I tend to miss the lion dance while circling around the parking lot numerous times. I was very happy to see that the organizers found a suitable location to have a festival of such scale. It shared a parking lot with LeRoy Crump Stadium, which accommodated more cars than all Lunar New Year celebrations combined. For me, the admission fee of $ 5 is well worth it. I also like being far away from the busy Bellaire area. Now, I have more time to enjoy at the festival. Here is a sample performance Because this is a city park, there are some restrictions — no pets allowed, except for guide dogs. Since there is no ATM on site, it would be recommended to bring some cash. Food, drinks and beers are available at the fair. However, outside food is not allowed, except for people with medical conditions and infants. Alief Amity Park is located on Alief Clodine Rd, near the Dairy Ashford exit from Westpark Tollway. Non-stop performances are in the covered area. Community booths are on the grass. Food vendors are in the west side of the site. So, wear a pair of comfortable walking shoes will always be recommended.
