I found this place because of Unilocal and was quite excited to go. It was raining but hey, whatever, I wanted to see this wall! The graffiti art was cool but I missed out on a whole wall! I really wanted to see the proposal artwork but it was gated.

Pretty cool spot in Houston! I’d never heard of this building that has 360 degree graffiti art around it until I saw the reviews on Unilocal. We went in search and found a cool building across from a really nice old park. Parking is simple and no one cares if you walk around taking photos, even into the back alley where some of the coolest stuff is. My favorite pieces where the characters ones: alien looking guy, the cheetah, the fish-bird thing, and the marriage proposal. I liked the Graffiti, but I’ve also seen some other cool stuff in town like on the side of the Lawndale Art Center. Go during the daytime to see this, because you can’t get the full view at night. Also, take a camera, it’s a cool place to take some photos.

I found this place because of David & Kari’s reviews on Unilocal and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t intrigued. An area with artistic graffiti AND some local flavor of Houston? Yes, please! So I grabbed the hubby and off we went to find the elusive«Graffiti Wall». At first I didn’t know if I was going to get out of the car when we were driving around the area looking for the wall. The area is a mixture of really nice homes with some sleeping homeless people. But then, we turned a corner, and… I saw it! OK. Pull over. The area isn’t THAT shady. And I wanted some good pictures for my Houston Facebook album. My personal favorite piece of art was Chester Cheeto. He just looked so hard… Anyways, I got all my pictures, it was a gorgeous day and there is a quaint little park to chill at right across the street once your done taking pics or admiring the cool art.

I found this wall on accident while driving around. I have really been into street art and trying to find originals through out the city. Everyone kept calling this The Proposal Wall and I wasn’t sure why. I saw several amazing pieces around all 3 parts of the road facing out. We went at night and so it was hard to see into the grassy area fenced off between the XLPARTS building that it’s actually spray painted on and the condos next to it. But inside there is a well known image done by local writer ACK! that says Will You Marry Me? You have probably seen a lot of his work around the city — it’s very succinct. I love that the art work here has all been here for so long without anyone interrupting it or messing it up. It’s a neat little find of real urban art.

So I know people on Unilocal have been taking pictures here for a long time. I know people in the community who are looking for some local flavor know about this spot. Well it’s time Unilocal officially has a listing for such a cool place. It’s basically just a building that has graffiti all the way wrapped around it. So why is it so cool? The graffiti is done very well and there’s a nice park, baldwin park, right across the street so a perfect spot for a mini photoshoot. There is plenty of parking all around and even spots right next to it so your subject can even be your car. I’m sure you’ve driven past it plenty of times and not even thought twice about stopping and looking at it. Take a minute the next time you are in midtown and gaze at it’s beauty.
