I had a very similar experience as Ami bellow. I also purchased a Groupon for a cut and conditioning. I also called the next day and got an appointment with Kristi. She was great. I enjoyed talking to her, but also could close my eyes and enjoy the haircut. My hair looks better than it has in a really long time. The space is very simple but nice. If I were going to nit-pick, I was waiting about 45 min. before Kristi was free. But in this time I did get a deep conditioning. Not sure if this is normal for conditioning, its been a while. Anyway, I’ll be back for sure!

I was due for a haircut and I had never gone to a legit salon before in Houston so I finally wanted to try it out. I decided to look up some offers on Groupon and got the haircut, shampoo, and style with Danielle. After booking the appointment with Danielle on the SeatStyle site, I realized I accidentally booked myself for two time slots because the first one somehow never gave me a confirmation screen and then it told me the original time was already booked, so I booked myself for the next available time. Well, turns out I was the one who booked that first time slot. I guess the system’s notification was a bit slow because I only got the confirmation for both times after my second one went through. I called Danielle several times to leave messages and then sent her an email to let her know what happened about 2 days before my appointment. She never called me back, but she promptly responded to the email, so yay for that! The place is somewhat easy to find with its own lot. My appointment was on a Saturday morning and I made it right on time. Danielle greeted me by name and then I briefly sat in her chair where I told her what I wanted(mainly a cut and to where and as long as I could pull my hair back into a pony tail, to do what she thought looked best since I do have thick hair and didn’t want something poofy if it was cut too short). Afterwards, I was led to the back for the shampoo. I don’t know about you, but for some odd reason, I always found it soothing when someone else shampoos my hair for me; or maybe it just doesn’t happen often to me, haha. The shampoo did smell good! I was also offered some water(it came in those cute little bottles), which I took. Then back I went to the chair. She confirmed once more on the length and began working on my hair. My bangs are a bit odd so she was sort of pushing it around at first; I last had my hair cut in Asia about a year ago and they make the bangs there a lot thicker. I think it gives an impression of a smaller face? I’m not all that fashion savvy whether it be by Asian or American standards so I may be wrong. After that, she asked if I wanted to trim my bangs and I replied in the positive sense. She trimmed primarily the middle part of my bangs, which I wasn’t used to, but up to my eyebrows as I had requested — good enough. Once the actual cutting was complete and my hair was still wet, she asked me how things looked. I couldn’t tell since my hair«shrinks» once it dries but the length looked good thus far. Off she went to the styling portion, which I think is mainly just a blow out? My hair was essentially blow dried in sections with the help of hair mousse and a brush, which was awesome because it smoothed out my hair. All in all, the cut was simple. Nothing spectacular and I liked it, but not sure if it was worth the $ 25 price tag(I forgot the original price… I think it was around a $ 50 value?). There were some layers but nothing obvious(I usually have my hair cut with a razor and with some layers added to thin out my hair a bit, which I never request for but they do) — she did exactly as I had asked, which isn’t bad. It may also be because I had quite a lot of hair so maybe adding too many things wouldn’t fit what I paid for. The entire visit took only 35 minutes from when I walked through the door and left. Danielle herself is quite nice, though I sometimes felt like she didn’t know what to say or was hesitant to do anything crazy. I would consider returning, but this is still up in the air. I wasn’t joking when I said I get a cut about once a year. A note: like I said, my first time being in an American salon. I normally get my hair cut by family friends, which essentially consists of a cut and that’s pretty much it. Makes sense with the $ 6 to $ 9 price tag. I love how I didn’t need to clean up/shower after the cut and I was essentially«ready to go» afterwards with Danielle. However, I have been to a couple of hair salons in Asia. I pay around $ 12 to $ 20(depending on how upscale the area is) for a shampoo, conditioning, cut, another shampoo, style(usually with loose spiral curls of some sort), and when waiting, I also get a hand massage and I get asked if I want my nails painted or otherwise tended to. They also have a refreshments menu I can choose from. I know that American standards are different though not exactly how, so though it’s not up to my usual standards of what to expect at a hair salon, not to mention how much to pay, it wasn’t a bad experience(perhaps it’s even what I should normally expect!) so 4 stars it is. :)

Came here because I got a Groupon and walked out a VERY happy customer! They did a great job with fixing up my oh so chopped up haircut. I had no idea what I wanted to get at first so I just told them to do whatever they thought would look best, and they did not disappoint! I got an awesome new hairstyle alongside with great customer service. They are super sweet; recommend to everyone!

I got a Groupon for a cut & deep conditioning. I called next day and was able to get an appt same day, which was great for me because my schedule is so erratic and if I ever wanna do anything for myself it’s last minute. So, thrilled they were able to fit me in. It’s a no frills, clean little place. Krista cut my hair. It’d been too long. So long that at this point I just needed to cut it off. I’m pretty sure I conveyed that poignantly. Lol. She didn’t try to up sell me on anything. Just kept it simple for me which is all I really needed at this point. She understood that I wanted the weight off my head but still keep length, something super low maintenance. And that’s exactly what I got. So I’m very happy. Oh! Also, another key thing that will have me return is that I did get the groupon for like $ 25 or something. I read all the fine print but still expected to have extra charges added because of the length of my hair like so many salons have done to me in the past.(This has always been a point of annoyance because no matter if I ask prior how much extra it will be, I can never get a straight answer and at the end it becomes wildly inflated. Usually ruining any goodwill I might have felt at my cut. Like how does it go from $ 50 to $ 150??). However, here at The Look, I didn’t have that issue at all. They totally adhered to their groupon ad and for that they earned major cool points with me. I just like transparency in my transactions. Anyway, I’ll be going back again… Thanks!

Danielle has been my hair stylist for over 5 years! She has an amazing talent with hair! I have extremely difficult hair: coarse, thick, and very knotty. Yet time after time she continues to work miracles! I love coloring my hair and I give her a general idea of what I want and she transforms that into the perfect hairstyle. I have never been disappointed with her work and it is always a treat seeing her! If your looking for an amazing life long stylist she is the one!

I used a groupon for a haircut with Danielle. I called the salon and made an apt with her with the style app. Easy to use and from there you can add it to your iCal. She used tea tree body shop shampoo no conditioner and didn’t cut too much as asked and blew out my hair after. I love blowouts! She was saying there’s specials on weds, I’ll have to check it out. Overall a great experience tons of parking and she even took a credit card tip using square. Danielle is super tech savvy. The owner after I was done even complemented my hair and gave me a bottle of water when I came in. Place is kinda hidden but has tons of parking and is near the bus stop.

Tamika is absolutely the best! She makes my fine, limp hair look thick and healthy even when I want to keep it long. I love the salon-clean, comfortable and parking is super easy. I won’t go anywhere else!

I only cut my hair myself, so the fact that I was in a barber shop is special, so take this review close to heart. I found this place by chance and I am happy I did. Appointments are made on the website, you can pay with cash or card. The shop was really clean and the owner was so nice and honestly, did a great job. The only barber I’ll come to!

Best haircut in Houston, hands down. I have looked for years for someone who knows how to make my fine hair look a lot fuller than it actually is, and Tamika nails it every time. I can never get it to hold a curl unless she’s the one curling it! I
