Very basic atmosphere and décor but the food is very good. You order and pay at the register and seat yourself. The portions are a bit smaller than typical Mexican fare but in all honesty, it is plenty of food.

I needed a quick meal near the airport and was sent to Gumbo Jeaux’s, but it’s Saturday and they’re closed on the weekend. I looked at the reviews for the other restaurants in the center and The Ultimate Taco came up strong. It did not disappoint. There are several appealing details to this place. From the kind woman behind the counter to the very clean kitchen, but, of course, most importantly, the menu. There were a lot of good options to choose from. I got the taco salad with shredded pork. Everything was very fresh. The lettuce was in big shredded chunks and the tomatoes were hand cut. The pork had a delicious spice mixture and it tasted great. It’s the end of the day and you can see them cleaning the kitchen. I always feel better when the food is fresh and the kitchen is clean. Next time I’m in Houston, I won’t hesitate to come back.

Great price especially for the amount of food you get. Service is quick. Got a steak torta. Was a bit messy to eat but was still yummy. Lots to pick from. Close to work.

I feel like such a snob right now, but here I go… I am a native Texan and, as per usual, I was looking for the closest Mexican restaurant to the airport after a trip up North. I ordered the chicken enchiladas with green sauce with a side of chips and queso. The chicken had no seasoning and was incredibly dry. The green sauce was okay, but too much butter for my taste and left me feeling ill. The queso was cold Velveta, with what seemed like Rotel chiles and tomatoes. The only part that I enjoyed of my meal was the Mexican rice. I thought I stumbled upon a gem when we pulled up but was very disappointed. Based on other reviews, I don’t know if my meal was a fluke or if it’s just that all the other reviewers are not from Texas…

I’ve eaten here twice this week. Servings are very generous and leave you full. Don’t forget to get your salsa from the bar. It’s a healthy option. In an area filled with junk.

Oh golly I have always wanted to come to IAH for food. Lo and behold I just came here for business! Staying at a nearby hotel I began my hunt for good delicious taquitos. While this place did not have taquitos my goodness their enchiladas are beyond delicious. I did take out which I regret — I want more of it right now! The bean dip is to die for and oh gosh those enchiladas I cannot even fathom the glorious experience to words. My first experience of IAH/Texan food and it’s a wonderful first meal here. Thanks IAH!

I found this place to be merely average when it comes to good Mexican food. Everything seems to be star salty and meat that is supposedly grilled sure doesn’t taste like it. Fish tacos are pretty bland but the salsa bar is a nice touch even though some salsas taste pretty watery. Good place to grab a quick bite but don’t expect to be wowed.

Last night flew into Houston and was looking for anything to eat and was disappointed that I could not find any BBQ right around the airport that was still open. So I ended up stumbling across this place and really glad I did. It to me is a real hidden gem in the Houston area. Rolled in and was greeted by a very nice Hispanic young lady that answered all my questions about the menu… I ended settling in on the fajita tacos and my only ding on this place would be is that they would include a little onions and bell peppers. But what they lacked in some vegetable they made up in flavor the pork pastor was outstanding. The other nice perk was that their is a saloon in between the restaurant and a nice seating area. If you get your food to go and sit on the tables from the saloon you can order beer or whatever you want and enjoy from a nice covered area. Either way if you are staying at one of the local hotels you will know not many choices and this is worth trying.

The salsas are the redeeming qualities of this place. The meats of the steak and carnita tacos were tough and didn’t taste fresh. I wouldn’t return, so 2 stars — but half star additional for the salsas so rounding up to 3.

So on my return I must say that the food was even better. Everything was hot and fresh and tasted so good. Both times I have been here I was the only customer. What’s the deal with that? This place is awesome. Great food and marvelous prices. People need to eat here. This is good s@$*!

I got the fajita tacos. Quality was superb. Price was great. No drinks the tacos were 8 $ and change. They have a salsa bar with different types of salsa, as well as cilantro and onions. Oh and fresh pico. The staff consisted of two older women and one younger one. The older women seemed perturbed. The younger girl was supper friendly and helpful. Maybe the other two were having an off day. Tacos are Ah la cart unless you get the special which is on the chalk board outside as you walk in. Will definitely eat here agin the portions and flavor were excellent.

Nice Mexican lady’s serving and cooking. U can see kitchen thru the glass. Our food came and OMG I’m in food heaven!!! The Flautas are fresh made(pork for me) and deep fried to perfection. Gotta get some more of those this week! I also had chicken nachos. Huge! It does have like a cheesy sauce on the chips but they made it good! They put peppers in it and made it Spicey, so don’t let the look of it fool u. And it was also good. My hubby had pork tacos mmmm fabulous. And his one el pastor was tasty too. Now they had a nice little salsa bar by front door that was refrigerated and plugged in. Not sure about the other review that said it was warm. Maybe when it first opened not sure but it’s great now at least! The one good review was right on with the food tastes! It’s like going to a Mexican household to visit and they serve u home cooking! Voila

My husband and I were returning our rental at the airport and stopped here for lunch… and it is fantastic! My husband ordered the steak nachos and he couldn’t be more happy with them!!! We loved it so much, I told my bro in law to check it out since he works at the airport!!! Now we have a «spot» when we are near the airport!!!

I been by this place several time driving from the Airport, I’ve always wanted to stop. Glad I finally did. I loved the little«salsa /toppings station» so you could enjoy a couple of different salsa with you food. Located in a little strip mall and it parking lot was busy and crowded.

Awesome and fast! I had the Fatija tacos with beans and rice which was just under 10 bucks. They are quick and friendly. Definetly give this place a shot. Lot’s on the salsa bar as well.

Heading over to get a quick lunch at Alwadi, I notice a new restaurant called«The Ultimate Taco» and decided to give it a shot. They serve tacos, burritos, nachos, quesadillas, flautas and enchiladas. I ordered their Ultimate Tacos(beef fajita meat). It was three tacos served on corn tortillas(flour is available) with grilled onions and peppers with a little bit of cheese — $ 6. There were also a few chips and some lettuce with tomatoes and shredded cheese. There is also a condiment bar with onions, cilantro, pico, jalepenos, limes and a few sauces. The thing was pretty loaded with beef and veggies. I tried a piece of the beef by itself. It was a bit tough, but not horribly, and the taste was a bit bland. The corn tortillas the stuff was piled on were just too small. It made it tough to handle them and most of the ingredients fell out. Combined with the peppers(very fresh tasting) and onions along with the lime and cilantro I added, the overall flavor was pretty good. If the meat had been more tender and flavorful and had the tortillas been larger and a little less bland, this place would be on my regular lunch rotation. The staff seemed nice enough and the place was clean. They did seem to have a bit of confusion with the order numbers. I plan to give this place a few weeks to mature and then try it again.
