I started using these folks when I moved to Houston. I thought they were OK at first — I do a LOT of dry cleaning for my job — but a couple of weeks into our business relationship I brought them a suit on a Saturday morning and they told me it would be ready by Tuesday evening after 5pm. I needed the suit for a business trip to NYC on Wednesday morning. I show up on Tuesday at 5, and they bring me the cleaned jacket but threw the pants in a ball on the counter. I asked the cleaner’s representative, «What’s going on with these pants? You didn’t clean them?» «No, it had a tear in the pocket [editor’s note: this tear was about 1 cm long. It is not noticeable with a suit jacket on] — we can’t do anything with it because we can’t be liable if it were to get more damaged [via the dry cleaning process. By the way, I think it’s unlikely this representative used the subjunctive form „were“, I’m really just being charitable].» Me: «Well, what am I supposed to do now? You couldn’t have called me? I need this for a trip tomorrow.» [awkward silence, no offer of any kind of compensation for this from TipTop] Me(on way out): «I’ll never be back.» So I went home and stewed, and decided to call the manager. I called twice — the phone rang and rang until it went to answering machine. I left a message and they never called me back. Avoid this place. We started going to MW Cleaners and have had a much better experience. They are always ready the next day(don’t even have to ask!) and they even deliver!
