Title Max

My title loan was about half paid off with another company when they told me their location was going out of business and they referred me to this Title Max location. This has been a disaster!
The first month I went in and got all the paperwork done. They told me the ins and outs of their company and how it works compared to other title loans companies (really not much of a difference)
Last month I went in and paid more than my regular amount, not by much, but enough to atleast get it going and Antonio Rojos (the man who set me up there) said this will take care of your interest. I was thinking it wasn’t going to cover it all, but went on.
I came in today to make my payment. I made my payment then she started re-​writing my account. I asked her why and she said because of a new law we have decided to take the middle man (the bank financing) and we have to do re-​new everyone’s accounts. SO not only have I lost all the money I put into the loan (yes, only two payments, but that’s bad enough), just to start at zero again. Not only that, they upped my percent rate an additional 18% in addition to adding a bunch of administrative fees and to change the title information.
Veronica Guerra is the one that processed it this time. She said they have to due to staying in complaince to the new law. I told her I was limited as to what I could spend and that Antonio told me that my monthly rate would be under a certain amont every month. She said that’s why Antonio is no longer there… because he was mis-​informing people of what can and can’t be done. I do know Antonio was friends with a lady in the office of the previous company I was with and he had told me that he was having her refer people to him that company was losing. She was getting $ 50 referrals for each of them and according to Antonio, she had referred many to him.
Seems to me that (at least this location) is doing some kind of fraud. I need to find a new title company to get out of this one. Someone reliable. I am going to the national board consumer fraud division or whoever it is I eed to go to.
I will never refer them to anyone. The one I already have referred, I contacted her today to tell her not to switch if she hasn’t yet. Glad I made the call. She was going to do that next week.
This is why I hate title loans. When this is paid off, I wil never use one again.
